The start of this reminds me that when I saw him in 1976, he spent several songs walking along the retaining wall at the front of the stage, grasping the hands of those in the audience who had pushed up to the front. My friend whom I had gotten tickets for yelled to him, "Todd! Today's my birthday!" and he yelled back, "Well, happy birthday!" He then came over a couple of times during the next song to stop and pose wildly for her with his guitar so that she could get a picture. He's possibly the most charismatic performer I've ever seen.
Saw Utopia live in New Haven, CT around 1982. General admission, right in front of the stage. It was the best concert of my life, I was on an emotional high for weeks afterwards. Sheer musical talent, no lip synching, no sampling, no auto tune.... just pure, shining talent.
Just Jeanne Saw them in 1976, changed my musical world for ever. seeing a band that is that talented as far as individual musical ability and the sound they had that no one else will ever duplicate. Didn't realize how fortunate I was to grow up at that time.
a real man tries to make people think..... look at themselves.... see who they are... how they feel... find themselves... be more... make you think while you are entertained..... by the words they say..... that make you... better.....
I was 13 when this hit...still waiting for the World to wake up and see, and FEEL this...have been waiting so long to find the one...a HOPELESS romantic, I guess
Irish wit Hello as I am going through this world searching for "the one". I've seen Todd twice and Utopia once the message I always take away from a Todd Rundgren concert is "Love is the Answer". A Beautiful message to live by....
As a lad, a huge Rundgren fan. My dad woke me up to catch a few minutes of Todd. Because back then few had a VCR and reruns were few. But the old man recorded it and transferred to cassette. Still got it! Be a Real Man!
Wow that's awesome I am glad this song from midnight special real man was wonderful and blessed New year to this incredible voice Todd Rundgren and your band Utopia is amazing when I saw you 4 perform I just want to touch you and I sent to my friend Melody hello it's me song in Cleveland Ohio
And another thing I can say about Utopia Performance is really felt Amazed and I will say that Todd Rundgren perform with 🐺 man jack you cried 🐺 song because I will send it to my friend Jullian definitely she will be surprised
I saw Utopia live in 1976 in Saginaw. He climbed his pyramid. 42 years later I saw him at John Curtain bandroom in Melbourne. Long time between drinks! But this I saw him so close on a tiny stage. It was magical. Some of it is posted on UA-cam. October 27th Curtain Bandroom Todd Rundgren. His pick up band was the mind blowing Davey Lane and the Drunken Rooster. Michele sang a song too and it’s posted impart as well.
Gonna c him on June 29th @ Gruene Hall by San Antonio I can't fucking wait been a long time coming hadn't seen him since early 80's @ Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin
He came to Boston for two shows at the Paradise Theatre after. The Utopia leg of the Back to the Bars tour. Only the third time I had seen him after the RA and Oops tours.
saw the utopia tour in port huron, michigan, (mcmorron auditorium, was my 1st concert, i was 12, my mom bought me the ticket and let me go all on my own), also saw the ra tour in clarkston, michigan (pine knob, now known as d.t.e music theater)...damn i was lucky! :)

I'll bet Todd wishes he had that kind of energy now!
@campergrrl looks like Midnight Special.70s TV.
Somebody in the audience had the gall to grab him for a kiss? I mean, we all want to, but behave, girl.
May I have the name of this guitarist?
lessthan427 looks like kasim just switched over
What in the world is Kasim wearing???
how did this band go anywhere???
Sheer talent, boyo-no sampling, lip synching, or other crap like that there.
WTF is he wearing?
