Zulu 127 (Winnemucca Mountain Radar Station)

  • Z-127 was established as part of the planned deployment by Air Defense Command of forty-four Mobile radar stations across the United States to support the permanent Radar network established during the Cold War. Activated on 8 June 1956 by the 658th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, the station remained in service 12 years until its decommission in 1968. The facility has fallen into usual disrepair for abandoned military facilities, despite local utility and cell phone companies have antennas on the grounds.

    My friend from Winnemucca took me here, it was so cool :) But virtually tho but still cool, we called on Instagram and showed me around. The view was magnifique :) Cool Mountain 10/10
