Stephen, any update on how the boiler has held up after the install.
I am looking at doing the same thing to my boiler instead of 250+ on a new kit.

man, old boiler was terrifying, im glad to have new one, changing heating element is very easy now. if i had yours, i coulndt change it and probably it would have been waste in garbage.

Nice job - My machine needs the same, as the valve fitting keeps getting clogged with particles falling from the element. I have two dogs like yours - lol.

Thanks for posting this Stephen. Did it hold up alright? Any trouble after the retrofit or no issues at all?

The other thing to do while you have the boiler out is to also remove the group head/shower assembly. It gets gummed up with coffee paste and this also blocks the shower screen. This makes the machine work extra hard to express the coffee not to mention affect the flavour!

Stephen, where did you purchase the old-style element? Thanks

Paul Lewis ever find a replacement element like Stephens? I’m looking but having found one yet...this looks easy enough and cheaper than full boiler etc.

Not sure if you still need one, but I’ve recently bought one from a site called the espresso shop. www.theespressoshop.co.uk

I am also looking for the element you have . Where can I buy it ? I'm very curious . Is it possible to bend a element which comes nearby the measurements you need ?

How do you know if you have an old style or a new style boiler?

The element in the old style boiler can't be replaced . You have to buy a new boiler . That's why this looks like a nice solution . In the new style boiler you can replace the element .

How about filling the element holes with a high temp putty.
I am thinking of going in this direction.

@@AlanMedina314 I wonder if copper crush washers wouldn't be better than rubber or paste.

What size hex removes those screws?
