The Joe Glo may work better when the machine is upside down, but I recommend doing the work with the machine on its side. After I got everything that I could reach super clean and installed the new gasket etc., I had to run lots of water through the machine to get more brownish water out. I think some of the coffee residue-Joe Glo solution got deeper into the machine than I could reach with swabs etc.
That can of air makes a mess. Get yourself a small shop vac with a attachment for small areas like car ashtrays and such ,suck out the water and Joe Glo (I use Cafiza) from the shower head. Great Machine. Mine is around 12 years old. I just replaced the boiler and heating element, all three thermostats. All the gaskets. It’s like a brand new machine. It’ll last me another 12 years. Complements on the video 👍
Perfect. I appreciate the older machine here! All the other vids have newer versions and this answered some questions for me. Cheers. 👍👍👍

Great! Just the video I was looking for. Thank you.
The machine in this video is Version 1.
Version 2 is the one you describe with the ergonomic handle of the portafilter.
There's now a V3.
do you know if the disk in the middle should be removable for version 2?
omg i struggled so much with taking the gasket out, and also moving the damn screw in the middle!
The machine you service is a v1. On the v2 you can remove the disc you mention around 2:13 plus the housing around the disc looks different.
So obviously a V1.
I need to do a tune up on mine. I've had mine for 27 1/2 years.
I do regular cleaning but sometimes starts over heating.
Where can I find an overview of the versions?
you should not use steel brush on brass
Perfect, thx a lot!
Im sure a waterpic would be helpful
