I mean he pretty much looked the same. The only difference I can tell is he has a hood and a cape in this one rather than full on robes. I think Doom’s design was definitely one of the best things about these films.
First film: he had Metallic skin under his robes
Second film: he actually wears metal Armor
He even looked a lot like God Emperor Doom

I love going frame-by-frame at 1:02 and looking at the tiny amounts of detail they put into Doom's hand for just a split second with all the bones, muscles, and nerves showing through the skin after he attacks everyone.

Oh my god, i honest to god had no idea he passed 😭 RIP
General Hager's pride was so hurt (i.e. he held a grudge against Reed, he trusted Doom over Reed's sound advice, the responsibility for the resulting disaster was his) that his desire to redeem his pride overcame his common sense. Despite it being obviously futile, Hager kept shooting Doom in the desperate hope that he can fix the problem he himself started without needing to apologize to Reed or the US government. Unlike Reed, Doom showed Hager no mercy and the general paid for his pride with his life. It's an example of how pride can end up being your ruin if taken too far.

What the General failed to see was that, because Reed and himself were so different, he couldn't see a man who aligned with power and control like him as the real problem and making a deal with him would ultimately backfire.

Not to mention Hager is such a fair weather friend. He wanted Reed help so bad, he wanted Reed to cancel the wedding and pay attention more to him in the matter. When everything failed, Hager started to hate Reed so much he went to Doom’s help. One: because Doom knows more about silver surfer, two: its was just to spite Reed and the other fantastic four and it work.
He reminds me of my middle school shallow ex friend. We were friends for years until I told her one time she was wrong about something, she was incredibly pissed, that she start hanging out with my bully and left me in the dust just spite me and that because the bully was popular.
I absolutely love the water-like effects on the board.
This movie aside, Dr Doom is still one of THE best comic names ever IMO.
The actor who played doom in this franchise was a weak and poor actor. they could have done better.

The choices for Doom and Reed were great. Honestly, I really hope Marvel brings them back. I don't think we'll be able to get Chris Evans back for Human Torch, but honestly, I'd be happy with just the actors for Reed and Doom coming back.
Edit: And I was wrong as always. Turns out we did get one last appearance from Chris Evans as Human Torch.
Age might be an issue as it's been over a decade since these Fantastic Four films but I agree and I'd love to see Michael Chiklis back as The Thing too, he was pretty much the character taken straight from the comics. They'll most likely just recast them all though sadly.

@@quickcar5255 I assume because Marvel doesn't want to bring him back. I mean, they just went to extreme lengths to not have to bring him back as Captain America. Imagine how awkward it would be to bring him back to play Johnny Storm. It won't happen. Unless they Arrowverse it like when they made a joke in the Infinite Earths event about how Brandon Ruth superman looked like Atom (Because Atom is played by the same actor). But I think it's highly unlikely. I think if they do a fantastic four, they are gonna have to recast Human Torch in order to make it work.
Sighh I really hope they do Doom justice in the MCU, he needs to be villainous, but with a warped sense of honour and dedication to either humanity or at least Latveria.

The door is flying across the hallway, then hits Ben, causing him to crash into the wall behind him, crushing Reed in the wall, then Sue asks where Reed is, then Reed says back here, then after Reed gets out of the wall, Ben raises his hand, and he says my bad in an apologetic and funny way. Who else thinks those are some of the funniest moments of this movie?

I love how Dr.Doom’s origin is much like in the ultimate universe that he is tied with the FF. Also, while the FF powers represent the 4 classical elements (Water,Air,Fire and Earth) Dr. Doom represents the metal element. I am unaware if it was ever official but when I saw the film, I observed Dr. Doom’s metallic physiology grants him: super strength(not on the things level) durability (being metal) electrical manipulation (it seems being metal allows him to absorb easily electricity from outside sources and even static in the air and release electrical blasts) conductivity ( he seems to also channel other forms of energy to create blasts of energy) Energy absorption (my theory is his new physiology also gives him a literal hunger for power so he is a metaphorical and literal power hungry maniac) Limited Magnetism (As a metal, he can probability generate magnetic charge to have limited magnetism) levitation (Probably) Plus his genius level intellect. His only known weakness like all dooms from the multiverse is his ego that blinds him from achieving his goals.

Really dig this look of Doom. Such a shame that this movie came out when Hasbro had already acquired the Marvel license and was stuck with the shorter scale figures for both this movie and the Spider-Man 3 line. I would have loved a 6" Marvel Legends Dr. Doom from this movie.
If you didn't noticed, when Silver Surfer steps on the board, he changed from normal silver to shiny silver. But when Doom stepped on the board, its the board that changed instead of him and it turns dark

I appreciate how stupid the military was to give doom access to the surf board, and literally crap all over the fantastic 4 after they saved the city from that same guy they trusted.....for reasons.
It may not have been comic-accurate, but even so, this was a great rendition of Dr. Doom - much better than the metal version they had in the first movie. And waaaaaaay better than whatever that abomination in the reboot was.

@Kaos Nova I do recall reading something about Doom being the Sorcerer Supreme at some point in the comics. That said, the MCU didn't yet exist at this point, so this is probably just a coincidence. Still nice to hear, though!

Man, I like the actor who played Doom. However, I wish he did more sorcery in these movies and more comic accurate. Regardless, you can tell the cast was having fun. Thank God we're going to see a comic accurate Doctor Doom in the MCU soon! 🙏🏽💪👏

RDJ was perfect as Ironman, I can never see him pull off Doctor Doom with him being snarky, sarcastic, and talking in a fast-paced high-pitched voice in a lot of his movies. Doctor Doom in the MCU should be shakespearean-esque, reserved, sophisticated, and menacing.
Watch Oppenheimer then, RDJ can be a really serious, menacing and machiavellian villain if the movie goes for that direction
New Doctor Doom could be a mix of Iron Man and Darth Vader, and be one of the mainstays of the franchise akin to Loki. Hope Disney won't screw this up.
