Hey! Sorry for some clips being really low res, I had a pretty hard time finding good quality trailers/clips of games because of their age, but I hope it isn't too bad! Also it seems that my throat was pretty scratchy while recording, so I'll try and make sure to have more water at hand in future lol
It's a shame that the GameCube did as poorly as it did sales wise, because it's one of my all time favorite consoles. So many fantastic games. Great video!
The GameCube absolutely failed at being disappointing. It’s the quirkiest lunch box ever and I still adore it. Even though I basically have no real reason to use it anymore since I have a modded wii and a gba, I still keep mine hooked up with its matching game boy player. There’s something special about playing the quirky lunchbox games on the lunchbox itself.
A mix of being able to play its games on my Wii, and not being able to easily record straight off of the GC also means I don't have too much reason to play on it, but the lunchbox does have this special charm to it!
Nintendo really did experiment with the Gamecube back in the day. So many games had ambitious ideas, from Wind Waker's unique art design to Metroid going first-person. Even third-party titles like Resident Evil 4 had a lot of new ideas, even though RE4 eventually got ported off the system as well. Even with the Wii and Switch, I don't really feel like Nintendo has pushed that same kind of daring, avant-garde game design attitude since, so it's great seeing fondness and gradual forgiveness for the Gamecube over time. I love the system and its rich library of weird, experimental titles. Great video. I really enjoyed this.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed! I personally also loved how unique and experimental the overall console design was, it gives it so much personality before you even get to its games.
