Great one! At the end VDH mentions a new growing group of established conservative Mexican American entrepreneurs in California. I believe this already exists in Texas in such cities as Midland. It would be interesting to explore how big of an impact such a group has on Keeping Texas conservative and if the group gets large enough in CA if it could help the Republicans.

New Jersey was, and is still called the "Garden State." Now, that is an ironic misnomer. Point is, I was taught the same ideals that you advocate. School day began w/reading of the Bible by a student in rotation everone eventually would have to read in front of the class versus from the books of Psalm or Proverbs. Then, "I pledge ( my post is corrupted at this point by some outside interference) allegiance to the flag of the United States and the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God..." Perhaps, with this as a first step, we can reduce the devaluation of citizenship. In the ideal society citizenship must be earned, not given away like confetti. America originally citizenship to the landed. A modern alternative is universal compulsory service. As the child of a widow I know military service saved my life.
