- The best travel fishing rod I have found so far has to the GOTURE EXCEED. This rod surprised me in every way on a recent rip down to Costa Rica. The quality of components and overall look and feel of he rod for the price makes this a great option for the traveling angler.

I ordered this rod based on your review as I'm preparing for a trip to Costa Rica. It worked for you so hopefully it will work for me as well. I've been to CR several times but I've never did any fishing there before. I recently retired and started fishing but I'm totally new to surf fishing. @@blakemontoya7377 This rod is very good for travel. I actually ordered a second rod. I have an 8ft and an 11ft. I cast with both depending on what bait I'm using and I can see the 11ft for surf fishing with live bait also. Both awesome rods paired with penn battle iii 4000HS exceeded my expectations. @@Nachodlh Yo me compre la de 10 ft, y es una caña excelente, muy sensible. El modelo que quieres tu segun catalogo es XCEED 11 MH, de 3.3 metros, un poco más larga y mas rigida, que aguanta hasta 42.5 gramos de señuelo para lanzar, lo que normalmente puedes excederte unos 0.5 gramos sobre ese gramaje sin problemas. Ojala te sirvan los datos, Sldos y suerte en la pesca.
@@Ed_Long Exacto ese es el modelo q quiero 11 o 12, pero tenia mis dudas en cuanto al peso de lanzamiento… si puedo lanzar 40/50g reales me serviría…. Gracias

Thank as usual for all the support. Yes that was the tide there, they get 9 ft tides which are insane. The beach changes so much in the course of just 12 hrs it's crazy to see

Hey another rod i used in CR was the okuma travel rod. Smoked some rooster, GT, and cuberas on those. Aluminum reel seat too with different size tips. This was nice when chunking poppers at night. Check em out. 9ft I believe.

I love travel rods. My Okuma salmon works well but this one looks solid!
It really is a great rod. Headed back to Costa Rica in the morning. Going to film and release a few more vids in the rod while I'm there

I ordered this rod based on your review and I must say I really like it and looking forward to trying it out in my next trip to costa rica jaco area. I've never done any saltwater fishing before and was wondering if I should bring longer 13' surf rods as well or just this 8' spinning rod? What works best? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your channel a lot. You guys are awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Love the videos especially the CR action you gave the policeman. I went out and bout the same setup. I guess I'm more curious on how you traveled.. did you carry on or check in the rod/case? O actually packed the rod in my surfboard bag, it makes it so much easier!
Awesome review! I also have this rod and it worked well for me a few trips to dominican republic. I also used kastmaster spoons and they were killing it! What part of costa rica are you in? I want to go there sometime soon.

@see_you_out_there couple questions. Do you think you could fit two rods in one case? Did you end up getting the 9' surf spinning rod? Whats the length of the case? I have this and the fiblink in my cart on amazon right now.
I only have the 8' and the case is around 36". If you got craft with the tube you may be able to fit two in it. Remove a little padding and get creative
I bought the 8ft mh. I hope my 4500 penn will work with it.

In regards to the rod and traveling on the airlines, can this rod case fit in a checked in bag or did it have to be checked in seperately? Also can the reel come with you on the plane as carry on? It is my first time taking a rod and reel on an international trip.
the rod would not fit in a carry on, i had it and the reel with all lures in a checked bag.
@@see_you_out_there Just bought this rod in 8ft after watching your video. Thank you for the information and real world test on it. Unfortunately, I may have to bring one of my cheaper reels (shimano IX4000R 😂) since the country I am traveling to (near costa rica) may have corrupt airport officials as we have witnessed in the past. Maybe things have changed as people have said. Anyways I do hope to return to Costa Rica as well, I land lined and pole fished the beaches of Jaco with my friends down there about 9 years ago. Did some rapelling and hiking with my Costa Rican fire and rescue friends. Had a blast. PURA VIDA

Hi there, I'm gonna mention two issues/problem with goture xceed 4 piece travel rod which the UA-camr never mentioned about. I've owned one of the goture xceed rod. I would say the join of the rod is too losse since it's four piece I have to twist and turn to secure the joins tight because I've ever have a lure snug under a rock and when I tried to pull out the lure, the rod just open by itself. And it fell onto the water. Second issues I have with the rod is the last last smallest ring at the tip is too small. Depends what knot you tie your leader to the clip, hook loop or swivels. Every time you wanna release line or you wanna cast out ,the line will not come out smoothly and will even stuck at the last ring at the tip. This problem will affect you not casting smoothly and the line will not go as far as you wish even you have the skills to cast far. That's all I have to say. I've did a one to one exchange for the rod and still the same. I think the rod design is this way since its a cheap $50 ish rod. Happy fishing and good luck 😊

I've rated one star on shoppee app. They're a brand from Singapore but definitely it's made in china. I don't even know you didn't noticed it and yet made a video to show it's the best rod out there. I believe any rod even the cheapest rod can get you fish if you fish the right way. You're making video for some time now or fish for years you should know this shit is wack. I dare anyone that read this to compare the last guide ring with others cheaper rod out there.

Bought this based off of your review. The handle piece won’t fit into the first section haha. Can’t expect much for $80 these days.

@@see_you_out_there don’t apologize. You didn’t make it. Just ordered a 4000 b3 DX as well. I ended up wet sanding the piece a bit and got it to fit. We’ll see how it holds up. How has yours handled?

I pack it in my surfboard bag since I take them too but I've seen tons of people with similar sized rod tubes on planes.
