@nerdlydood Yes. The microchips know which direction the rotators are pointing at all times so it can change colors at any designated angle. The LEDs are not actually in the rotator. They are facing straight up towards the sky on a stationary circuit board. The rotator hovers above the circuit board and shoots the beam out the direction it is pointing.
Holy crap. Federal Signal just set the new standard in LED Emergency Warning with this light bar. I'm sure the other manufacturers are scrambling to catch up now! Their product development centers must be going CRAZY! AWESOME....
This is the most insane bar I have ever seen. Saw it in Harrisburg and it was sick. The bar is completely programmable and you can literally do anything you want with it. The guy even made one side rotate diferent colors while the other side was fixed to the side with clear led's to be used as a scene light. Absolutely nuts!
Wow, this is a sweet lightbar. Now you can get the best of both worlds. LEDs and Rotators for complete 360 degree coverage. Even the rotators not lit up look sweet while they are spinning.
That is a very impressive lightbar i like how u can have every pod red/blue amber or mic it up and the other part is how the whole bar can become one big take down spot light brilliant idea when this bar is released to the public I will ordering one
This lightbar is my dream. Like for real! There is absolutely no way I could buy it for the work I do but there is hope with money from the Lotto hahah. Love this bar so much!
@JPOC226 FedSig Legend and other LED lightbars use a circuit board on top with LEDs facing down that shine on curved reflectors to put the light where they want it.
@CCWSig I've had 1999 vision and the motors have never broken in all that time. The only thing that has happened was water got into the case and ruined some of the copper leads. And of course bulbs going out. With these LEDs, they never burn out.
@trainlova12 They have non-rotating V's already in LED, Whelen already has a multi-colored Liberty, and Federal is probably going to put multi-color in some of their bars too. But the point of the rotating multi-color LED V is that you get an on-axis flash from all angles, not just from the front and rear. That's why the original Vision sold so well.
@urbex2007 Actually, the local PD's bars on their units definitely catch your attention in day or night. Haven't seen the same effect with a halogen rotator bar yet..
I used to install/repair Twinsonics. What was lost with Aerodynics/Junksonics was the 360* coverage at intersections (I was working elsewhere when the 85 Crown Vic’s started getting clobbered in intersections where the 82 Fords had no problem before.Used to be right to left rotation then someone decided to go backwards and that because the standard. I’m beginning to believe that guy was hired by the Federal Interstate Commission to design I-69.
@solar300 Could it, perhaps, be programmed so that a rotator will do half a rotation one color, and then switch colors, so that for example it will flash red in front and amber in back?
@DeputySheriff330 If you go on the federal Signal website, you can configure all of their lightbars with the Federal signal lightbar configurator. You can choose one colour only for each light pod, or you can have all colours available, which is a $275 option for each pod... It's worth having a play with, there are a lot of colour combinations :P
Nice bar with a lot of cool technology, but I'm still a fan of rotators...the new LEDs are almost too bright, especially at night. I don't mind a couple for extra visibility at further distances, but too much lighting (or too intense) can be just as much of a hazard as not enough.
Wow this is twelve years old and I'm blown away by it. They must have been pretty expensive because I've never seen one in use. Not these new LED ones. They sold a ton of the old type.
Whelen is also coming out with Duo Technology. It has the same amount of LED's and changes colors. Very nice bar. Im sure the NYPD will get them They only get Fed Sig V bars on the RMP's. I still think the Tomar Blade High power is the brightest bar on the market today. Nice Vid . keep on posting
I guess the NYPD will get them, and maybe a few other big police departments... I doubt I'll see one here in the UK for many years... It's rare to see the old versions of these lightbars :P
The only question is, will FS be offering versions with some colors hard-deactivated? For example, it'd be illegal to have a blue light on a fire unit in many states such as CA, and if someone wanted to have an amber version (for a utilities/DOT truck, or perhaps just because this thing is awesome) the blue and red colors would be pointless/illegal.
I know that it'll probably never happen due to the control board in it, but it would be cool if they could make a 3-pod version of this lightbar. I'd totally get it if that were the case.
@OnBakePlatinum I gottcha, still seems gimmicky to me. Stepper motors are generally very reliable and yes LED's burn for a long time, the whole thing just seems like more crap to try to control when a simple spotlight, and traffic adviser would work just as well. Thats all. The vision light bars are very popular, and decent from what I hear. I wasn't trying to knock them.
wow Me Lke.. It must have "scoop" mirors on hte rotators, and the LEDS ( Amber Red Clear Blue ) are under the rotator and shoot upward, then the Scoop reflects the light 90*
That poor little dash light was doing it's best to get noticed but it just wasn't happenin' with that Vision SLR bangin out all that light! Not sure why they even bothered turning that little thing on to begin with :) Definitely a bad-ass light bar but way too expensive for most :(
@solar300 another option would be to do something like the police cars in the Grand Theft Auto III series, such as San Andreas seen here: v=oZp9-7dkAa0
Yes, way way to expensive for many mant departmants, even big ones. There are so many other lightbars that deliver such a great powerful light that is more than half this cost. If i remember corectly this lightbar was over 4 grand. Crazy expensive! I want it bad but will never have one. We are a non-profit.
Hands down the best lightbar ever made. And priced accordingly lol
@nerdlydood Yes. The microchips know which direction the rotators are pointing at all times so it can change colors at any designated angle. The LEDs are not actually in the rotator. i have been waiting for a bar like this for a LOOOONG time
Wow, this is a sweet lightbar. Now you can get the best of both worlds. LEDs and Rotators for complete 360 degree coverage. Even the rotators not lit up look sweet while they are spinning.
This is the best LightBar i've seen....
that robotic synchro is hypnotic... awesome.
That is a very impressive lightbar i like how u can have every pod red/blue amber or mic it up and the other part is how the whole bar can become one big take down spot light brilliant idea when this bar is released to the public I will ordering one

That's awsome! about time federal stepped up with something awesome.
Amazing the quality difference in video nowadays verse eight years ago crazy looking at it now

OFFICIALLY MY NEW FAVORITE LIGHT BAR!!! :DDD

its good for like volunteers who also plow snow or use their truck for a work truck
0:42 BEST take down setup !!
@LeSedici It grabs more attention and also makes every pod a takedown or alley light.
thats the best lightbar yet. . . . hope our department gets them
Such elegance.
@urbex2007 Actually, the local PD's bars on their units definitely catch your attention in day or night. Haven't seen the same effect with a halogen rotator bar yet..
This very nice vision system!
Execellent ! The best of the best.
this is an awesome light bar!!! im thinking about getting it for my truck if its not too expensive
@c0p555 If you look the new FDNY rigs have 2 rotators on the corners of the Mni bars made by Fed Sig. Whelen couldnt made a led / rotator bar.
Incredible
Federal Signal FTW!

I really like this bar!! its cool!
Wow this is twelve years old and I'm blown away by it. They must have been pretty expensive because I've never seen one in use. Not these new LED ones. They sold a ton of the old type.

@germanytank78
Wrong! Federal Signal produces in the US.
What is the exact name of that model? I'd lke to find it on the catalog and see all the caracteristics.
Thank you.
I guess the NYPD will get them, and maybe a few other big police departments... I doubt I'll see one here in the UK for many years... It's rare to see the old versions of these lightbars :P
@Oscarshowfun tell me about it. i can bearly see the road when there on. on the side.
5900 and some odd dollars i actually looked into it till i saw the price lol
@nerdlydood He didn't demonstrate that. That would be pretty sweet though. I'm not sure the programming would allow it.
very very nice, wau No1, what is the price?
The only question is, will FS be offering versions with some colors hard-deactivated? this is awesome!
What is the make and model of this lightbar?
Do you know how much a fully loaded bar like this cost?
I know that it'll probably never happen due to the control board in it, but it would be cool if they could make a 3-pod version of this lightbar. I'd totally get it if that were the case.
Good news man
Soooo, guess what
Damn thats awesome!
@OnBakePlatinum I gottcha, still seems gimmicky to me. Ookay, you'd probably able to light a stadium with that....
@1decesaro Fully loaded retails around $6500

Thats alot of stuff to break. Seems like more of a novelty to me.
Amazing

You get a free pair of sunglasses with every purchase.

Not sure why they even bothered turning that little thing on to begin with :)
