Thank you my friend , I really feel happy watching your videos , honest , faithful and always highly appreciated for sharing your valuable experience with your viewers , thanks
I've been enjoying your videos and learning a lot. I bought the Liqui Moly sprayer and blue adaptor/extention set. The problem is that the sprayer comes with a european style male coupler on the sprayer that will not fit an American standard 1/4" quick connect female coupler. I see at 6:35 that you have adapted it somehow, but I can't tell what you used. Could you enlighten me, please? Thanks!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I thought of that, but when I took the original out of the sprayer, it did not have the usual tapered National Pipe Thread, but a straight thread, probably metric. I thought about tapping the handle out to fit a tapered thread, but I'm worried there may not be enough solid aluminum there to accept the larger diameter at the fat end of the taper. If I'm right about that, I will have destroyed an expensive, brand new tool! Yours looks as if you bought a european female connector and adapted that to an America one. Is that right?
Here's how I solved my problem: I had an M style female coupler at the end of my air hose, which was too small to accept the larger diameter end of the male coupler on the Liqui Moly sprayer. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a Merlin High Flow set with one female and three male couplers. The HF couplers have a larger tip to accommodate the high flow. It looked similar to the Euro style one on the sprayer, and when I tried it, it worked just fine with no leakage. It was $11 for the set, but today there was a 30% discount for items under $20. Hooray! Now I have three spare male couplers, too. Once I was able to connect the air compressor, I sprayed the cleaner, waited 15 minutes, then sprayed the purge. I started the van and let it run at about 3000 RPM for several minutes, occasionally revving it higher and then idling. I watched my pressure differential in the DPF gradually diminish, while the DPF soot load dropped from about 40 grams/liter down to about 15. Deleted the codes, restarted the van, and the CEL did not come back on. Drove it on the freeway at 75 MPH for about 15 miles, stopped and checked the soot level, which had dropped to about 9 g/l. Driving back, I left the code reader attached and watched the soot level drop to 0.1g/l !!! The pressure differential also dropped to 0 at idle from what it had been (much higher). Thank you very, very much for your valuable videos and the thorough explanations they provide!

Farcup Repair Hi, No it didn't sit after spraying the cleaner, I sprayed the purge right after I sprayed the cleaner! this product is good and it works very well if the DPF is not completely clogged!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair vic aus, I found a solution i believe, I believe the cleaner is caustic and the purge is acidic, Here is a link for anyone interested in DPF cleaning. ua-cam.com/video/LE1boZ3fhLg/v-deo.html
Interesting, but I wonder if the DPF cleaning fluid was just sitting on the bottom of the DPF, how does it clean the whole unit? Edit. On the LiquiMoli webpage it says you have to use the DPF spray tips. Apparently the idea is to spray the fluid all over the ceramic matrix inside the DPF housing so it saturates the matrix. Wait 10 minutes for it to attach the soot deposits, then spray it with the DPF Purge fluid. Kind of hard to do if you can't see the tip. You could also unbolt the DPF from the vehicle, spray it, than bolt it back on again. This procedure is intended for a professional mechanic, you have to invest in the spray gun, and the cleaning fluid is not cheap, about $60. But cheaper than replacing the DPF.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair there are some other methods if you remove the DPF. Pressure cleaning damages the ceramic, and is not that effective. Chemical cleaning can be effective though. Dunk the entire DOF into a solution of drain cleaner (strong alkali), rinse, then a solution of muriatic acid (pool acid) diluted 1:4. Let it sit each time about an hour, this will remove most of the soot and ash. Very messy though, and you have to dispose of some nasty chemical waste. Then reinstall and to a forced regen cycle.
Does this work on the 2010-up with AdBlue/DEF? Will this process/chemical damage the SCR? Also, is the Exhaust differential pressure the same as EBP1 that my iCarsoft bi-directional displays?

Another top liquid to clean the DPF is from LaunchTech Uk, check O'Rileys Autos youtube channel, one of best auto technicians on UA-cam doing DPF cleaning videos. When a car has clogged DPF issues a hidden problem may be with glow plugs not working (some of them) or glow plug relay/fuse etc, many ppl think glow plugs are only for starting a cold engine, that's partially true, glow plugs also are working when computer is doing DPF regen, that should be checked too, u fixed it for now but if glow plugs system is not working fully clogged DPF issues will come back later on, also after doing forced regen from scan tablet I was told that u should tell the customer that car will need an oil change immediately after, as an alternative to forced regen u could just rev the motor up either parked or while driving on motorway, and monitor exhaust diff. pressure number so u know when it has gone down low enough u should stop, this way car will not need oil change and will achieve same results as forced regen. Another cause that may be resulting in clogged DPF is EGR valve not closing fully sometimes, when EGR gets stuck on open if ECU decides to do a regen that will fail because air going thru EGR gets cooled down and a DPF regen needs high temps in order to burn soot, no to mention a regen will need fresh air in order to burn soot whereas air coming from EGR is depleted of oxygen. So in order to make sure a DPF clogging issue will not come back I would tell customer to investigate the glow plugs system and EGR valve to see if they work properly. As preventative maintenance EGR valve should be removed every 2 or 3 years and have the carbon deposits cleaned to make sure it works properly, its not a matter of if but a matter of when will EGR fail to work properly if not cleaned regularly, carbon deposits will keep growing until it will start restricting valve either from closing or opening properly. It wouldn't hurt when removing EGR to have it cleaned that intake manifold and throttle body to be cleaned as well, them 2 will not impact the DPF getting clogged but will impact the car behaving poorly if they have heavy carbon deposit build ups.
