  • The Kyosho Inferno VE Race Spec is the latest version of the popular and powerful Inferno VE. It's an incredibly powerful machine that rivals the performance of a full competition vehicle and eats stadium trucks for lunch. The Race Spec features a number of upgrades in the suspension to increase performance on all surfaces, and it includes the dynamic new KT201 2.4GHz radio. It's a complete package except for your choice of batteries and charger, and its inexpensive price makes it the best value in the market. It's the king of all ready to runs with the best balance of speed, power, durability and handling.
    The Inferno VE Race Spec is part of the Inferno family, which has earned eight of the last ten IFMAR World Championship titles over the last 20 years. It's not a mistake that the Inferno has been so dominant for so long -- it's nearly 50 years of experience in the market, which is much longer than any other brand. You can't buy that kind of experience, and Kyosho has always strived to provide its customers the best money can buy. The Inferno VE Race Spec is a manifestation of that mission, built on a chassis that is itself, a World Champion. Many manufacturers have tried to copy this platform for decades, but the experience, superior materials and dedication to quality cannot be surpassed by a merely copying its dimensions.
    The new KT201 2.4 GHz radio system is more than the average radio found in today's RTR vehicles. It's a completely new design that takes full advantage of the 2.4 GHz technology, which no longer requires having a radio on a specific channel, and it's virtually interference-free. But, it also has many features not found on many 2.4 GHz RTR radios. It includes an all-new ergonomic design, not a 20 year old radio with 2.4 GHz internals. The modern design puts your hands in a more comfortable position, and it's lightweight, only using four AA-size alkaline batteries instead of the typical eight. It's also got a digital interface on the top of the radio, which prevents settings from changing by accidentally bumping one of the buttons, and it delivers precise digital adjustments of all settings via the digital display. The radio features servo reversing, a 70/30 or 50/50 throttle trigger setting, Throttle and steering end point adjustments, dual rate, trim settings for both channels, and a 15 car memory. With the purchase of additional receivers, you'll be able to use the same radio. Finally, a four channel receiver is included. The fourth channel is reserved for future development, but it shows the forward thinking that surpasses the minimalist radios in other RTRs.
    The Orion Vortex 8 power system includes an incredibly powerful 2050 KV motor that's mounted to a strong and easily adjusted aluminum mount. The specially designed mount is adjusted by loosening two screws from the top of the chassis, so there's no need to access any screws from the bottom of the car. The Vortex 8 ESC is self-programming to identify throttle end points and it even knows which type and size of battery is attached, so there's no need to change settings on the ESC. An optional programmer is also available from Team Orion that allows fine tuning of the throttle and brake response, and it can shut of reverse for use in competition where it's not permitted.
    Finally, the World Champion chassis design is upgraded with molded chassis braces, which are strong, but flexible enough to ensure the best possible traction, and it's fitted with front and rear anti-roll bars to keep the car running flat and fast through the corners. Convenient turnbuckle linkages are featured throughout the suspension, and front universal driveshafts are standard. The Orion motor connects to the center differential via hardened steel pinion and spur gears, so there's no worry that the gears are going to strip -- they're nearly bullet-proof. The big bore shocks feature tough 3.5mm shock shafts and threaded spring pre-load adjusters for quick and precise ride height adjustments. It's a complete package and it's ready to take you to victory at the race track, or out for the most brutal bash session in history -- the VE Race Spec is well equipped to handle both!

    just got one of these - it is ballistic - awesome - just an absolute beast of a machine - agressive and sintilating acceleration. Haven't even got it anywhere near full speed and I'm in awe of it. Lovely machine.

    My friend has the regular non race spec and its still awsome. Can't wait to get my race spec from amain.Have a Mamba monster 2 kit waiting for it. With 6s lipo this thing can keep up with anything. Definitely worth the price.

    @ChekedScooters Yes. If you turn off the radio, the receiver is still open to receive any type of signal. It can be dangerous if the car just takes off, so please always shut off the car first, then the radio.

    The transmitter and receiver are linked from the factory, but there's a small possibility that you need to re-bind it. Simply turn on the transmitter, then the receiver. Once both are on, simply press the sync button on the receiver.

    @KiTKaTsOG The Deans connectors don't generally allow the battery to be plugged in backwards. It's typically caused by adapters or banana plugs. If you change to another connector, I would suggest something other than the Traxxas connector. They're not that good. I would suggest something like the Anderson Power Pole.

    I believe these are arriving shortly, within this month for sure. There was a little delay due to additional testing, but it's already on the way for sure. A Main Hobbies is one of the biggest Kyosho retainers, but there are many online shops that will carry this car.

    The Race Spec with come with the new Syncro 2.4 GHz radio, and a metal gear, high-torque steering servo. It also includes front and rear anti-roll bars, rear mud guards, and I believe (don't quote me on this) that it may include 6-gear differentials front, center and rear. Added together, the value of these upgrades easily justify 30 pounds.

    @yakanies Unlike ESCs for the old brushed motors, the ESCs for BRUSHLESS don't have reverse voltage protection. So, even a fraction of a second with one battery plugged in backwards, and the ESC goes poof. You simply have to install the batteries with the correct polarity, and you can't run more than 4S batteries. If someone sold you a 6S battery, it's too much for the application and it WILL damage the speedo.

  • @SPRCVIDEO
    @SPRCVIDEO  13 років тому

    The amount of run time depends on many things, not the least of which is the batteries you choose, and how you drive it. With high capacity batteries, it can easily run 15 minutes. I can't tell you the cost of those items in Euros because of the local pricing and taxes. The other items are your choice.

    @66KER
    With the standard gearing, it runs about 40 mph, or about 65kph. Without much trouble, the speed can be increased to much higher levels.

  • @SPRCVIDEO
    @SPRCVIDEO  11 років тому

    It's important to understand that these are geared for good all-around performance. Balanced acceleration and top speed. As equipped, the speed is approximately 40 mph (@65kph). But, a simple change of the pinion gear can result in much higher top speed, if that's what you're desiring.

    It depends on the level of competition at your local club. This is based on the design of a former World Champion, so it's more than capable of competition. It's not as light and nimble as our racing kits, but it's also a fraction of the cost. I'd say give it a go, and if you like it and want to stay with it, then you can graduate to the more purebred machines.

    The KE25 engine is .25 cubic inches, or 4.1cc, which is bigger than a 3.5cc engine. This video, however, features the VE brushless electric version. ;-)

    @lickthezebra They both have aluminum chassis. The Race Spec has better features, which is why it costs a little more, but worth it in my opinion.

    @SPRCVIDEO Hey SPRC i see when you were answering differences between this and the ve that you did not mention any changes to the shocks, and i was wondering are these the same shocks that were included for the VE or have they been upgraded for this new one ..??

    @PrankCallParties It souds like you might have a bad steering servo, or it's become unplugged. Have it checked at the local hobby shop, or contact Kyosho America customer service (if you bought it in the US)

    @KiTKaTsOG I'm going to assume you're using Ni-MH batteries, in which case the specifications call for 7.2V battery packs, which would be 6-cell. Perhaps a pair of 8.4V batteries would be too much voltage. So, I would suggest that you stick with 6-cell batteries.

    @2012goingNutz You're going to sped a lot of money to get telemetry. Unless you're changing stuff every day to improve speed and you want to see what works and what doesn't, it's not worth it. It runs about 40-45 mph out of the box.

    Will this car take a battery such as the Team Orion NIMH Battery Pack 5100mAh 6S 7.2V stick pack? As they state "7.2NiMh Stick Pack (3300mAh or higher) w dean plugs 1 or 2 pks" but then advise battery limits, is this for Lipos only or does NIMH have upper limits too? I'll be starting with 1 battery, and then running 2 at a time at a later date once I get used to the car. I also dont want to use to Lipos when I'll just be running it around and not racing. So I want to get as many mAh as possible.

    Hopefully you didn't buy the fuel for this particular model, because it's electric. ;o) I'm assuming you posted this to the wrong video and you have the nitro Race Spec buggy.
    40-percent nitro fuel is too much for most off-road engines. This and other off-road engines are typically set-up for 20 to 30-percent nitro. You risk detonation when using 40-percent nitro because the head clearance is set too low for this fuel. It could damage the engine. I would suggest trading it for 30-percent max.
