  • I run 2.8 kg of Jason's MBMMLLC through a full analysis process to determine the specific concentration of pure gold. This includes a shaker table separation, dissolving in aqua regia, filtering and cupellation of the purple colloidal gold to form a sphere for measurement.
    Keywords: gold mining, gold ore, gold prospecting, shaker table, gold sulfides, aqua regia, cupel, cupelation, gold ore analysis.

    Very good video. Jason is getting it out there for anyone interested. I'm still holding off on my box because my springtime chores have kept me very busy. I panned 3 small amounts and there is gold in it. Sure is a pleasure to watch your videos.

    Very good video on the content of Jason ore. I was glad to see someone finally roasted it.

    Nice video Dave, thanks for sharing. there is always more to learn. BTW i like the groove pattern in the first table top !

    That's cool. I ended up getting 95mg from 12kg of his ore, or roughly 7.9g/mt, but almost certainly has some silver in it.

    The panning tailings may have not dropped all the gold though as the amount of sulphides should be pretty much equal in shaker and pan tailings yet the discoloration was completely different.

    • @orophilia
      @orophilia  2 місяці тому

      They were completely different samples. Much of the sulfides were removed by the first pass on the shaker table. Cheers, Dave

    Very interesting video :) Curious if EGX leach would recover any more than gravity did.

      I'm curious about EGX also and I have some for testing. The next batch of ore that I process will compare EGX with aqua regia. -- Dave

    With regards to the bismuth spattering, an interesting coincidence just happened to me. Last week I was discussing your problem with a colleague of mine and he said that maybe you weren't baking your cupels to drive off any humidity first. Then just today, I watched Jason's latest vid, "part 2" and he mentioned that exact same problem and identified the same cause! Maybe that is your issue.

    • @orophilia
      @orophilia  2 місяці тому +1

      I allow the cupels to sit in the hot oven for a few minutes, but maybe that's not quite enough. I've never had the problem with lead, but maybe Bismuth is less forgiving. Thanks for the useful comment.

      @@orophilia Did you know that bone ash cupels have been found in the tombs of Egyptian Pharos? Yep, the science is that old, just the technology has improved. Kind of like the Ma Deuce, but way older LOL

    The 1000kg/mt and 1g/1000mg cancel out so you can just divide gold recovered in mg by sample size in Kg for the same g/mt ratio.

    6g per ton is a lot lower than I'd have guessed. I suppose Jason isn't selling high grade ore for $75 per 25lbs. :)
    Question for you. Wouldn't stannous chloride also precipitate PGMs if present in solution?
    Perhaps not a problem if not heating AR when digesting sample. I don't believe PGMs would tend to dissolve at room temperature.

    • @orophilia
      @orophilia  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, Stannous chloride also precipitates PGMs (platinum group metals) but we suspect that the concentration of those is low.

    Not roasting the ore is one step Jason misses and it can be very handy for all ore separation

    So a ton might have $420 of gold in it? Whether that is economical I can't say. Seems like it would at least potentially pay for itself as a hobby

    • @orophilia
      @orophilia  2 місяці тому +2

      Jason's vein will have sections that are many times richer than this. This concentration of gold would not be worth the effort, in my opinion.

  • @allenhammer7923
    @allenhammer7923 2 місяці тому

    Audio is awful. better to loud than mumblings. Nice job but you never want to leave out platinum group metals. THey may or may not be there but have a value not to overlook. They tend to say half OZ per ton it worth the effort. Some have big tools and run a lot more in placer material so it is worth it to them. What you are doing is where ODC becomes and asset.

    6 grams per metric ton. It’s not worth the time and money to mine that ore . I seen how Jason put money and time and effort into developing his mine not worth mining it unless he found a super rich vain with more than couple ounces of gold per ton. U see how gold fever drives people crazy. Thinking always if i keep going maybe I’ll hit the jackpot. Same as then scratch off tickets u buy one and buy another thinking the next one is a winner. 200$ later u finally get the winning ticket and it’s only 20$

    • @orophilia
      @orophilia  2 місяці тому

      Clearly there are much richer sections of the vein, as Jason has shown on at least two different videos. He's a smart guy and I don't think he'd put in the effort if it wasn't worth it. Thanks for the comment!
