I have that one, the P17 and yes it's excellent. Accurate and very powerful. You could load darts in it too I guess, since it loads straight into the barrel from the rear. Inexpensive but really a good air pistol.
These sucked 40 years ago and I see now the suck even more. I have one that I got at least 40 years ago it still works was a 25 foot shooter then and still is. This is a gun that it would be easy to shoot your eye out kids.
I had one of the metal black ones around 1985. It was fun to shoot the darts in the garage at about ten feet, they would stick in a box, we drew a target on the box that looked like a dart board. It didn’t shoot bb’s or pellets very good though. It wore out after a year or so and I threw it away. I still have my daisy 880 from back then though, still works great, what a difference in quality.
I just recently bought this Metal Marksman Repeater from an Antique Shop. The outside of it was badly worn. Both outside and inside of the pistol are metal. Surprisingly still works. I could still shoot a glass bottle maybe like 10 feet away. These things aren't perfect but they last.
Read somewhere you can take the internals from that gun and replace the ones in the old marksman full metal ones if they have damaged or worn parts in them. I did a review on the old full metal one that i need to replace the parts in.
I like your method of finding sharp bit n bobs you loose in the grass, ingenious the lawnmower tyre. I use a similar method of finding sharps ive dropped in and around my garage with my motorcycle tyres. I’ve come to the conclusion there must be a cheaper less inconvenient method.
This gun isnt to bad actually ,my buddy gave me this gun and said its junk then i found out he was pulling the slide back or what ever you would call it , then loading then shooting it , he never pushed the slide back into the gun before firering it . I laughed at him because the instructions are printed right on the gun . With that said when he came back over and tried the gun , he likes its now . People not all guns are crap most times its the shooter and if your buying a low cost gun what do you expect out of it , you get what you pay for out of life but what you expect is never going to be the same as what you get , some times you get more some times you get less .
I've had a love hate thing with marksman far back as I remember. they were first with the dart thing. they had little fuzzy tails like a fishing lure. heres my issue this is 2019 same gun that was from the late 70's. i'm sure being in California limits them, but they never took the dart idea past well where it is
I own a Marksman repeater (BB only) looks almost exactly like the one you reviewed except mine is all black and it is fairly accurate for a cheap spring powered BB pistol. I can say it is not the cheapest BB gun I own, it is the second cheapest BB gun (pistol).
My older brother had one of those but it was full metal. Its to bad they only come in plastic now. What's your opinion on umarex's version of the marksman, the DX17? Thanks, and good review.
I had one as a kid took it apart put a break line tube convert it to 22 lr by jb welding a tip of a nail in the piston . Made a crappy air gun a working single shot 22 with few hours of work . Not advising you do what I did but it was fun project did work took lot of rat's with it under the bridge by the river till my dumb but drop it down in the water and couldn't find it lol .
Those things sucked back in the day and they suck now ... but I'm glad to see this original sort of suckiness back on the shelves ... the old ones were heavy enough to pistol whip a transgressor into raw ground chuck ... which is what a senile uncle of Mine did to a crack head prowler while performing a citizens arrest in 1986 ... Damn thing couldn't bust a bottle or kill a crow ; but it sure did have the heft for fighting crime .
Notice I didn’t have anything to say about the pistol. Cos my momma told me if you can’t say something good don’t say nothing at all! Or was that thumpers momma? You know the baby rabbit in the film by good old Walter, Bambi
Good review Charles! It is a poor design, not a good gun. I used to have one like it that I used to shoot darts at a dart board with. I think it may have been a Daisy. My nephew broke it. My friend has one, but we couldn't get it to shoot right. It wouldn't put a hole in a pizza box.
I live in PA and I've had a few of those over the years. I think I bought my first one it was about 2002. Fun little gun not much for hunting but fun! It's also a BB repeater the little square right above your Barrel holds like seven or eight BB's all you got to do is re-Cock and Fire
And they actually shoot around 150-170 fps, which rapidly gets slower as the gun wears out, which honestly doesn't take very long. I had one back in the '80's. It sucked. Lol
I have 2 of these with the slightly extended barrel...Both shoot all over the place at 10 yards. I bet my daughter 10 bucks a hit on a soda can at that distance and she took me for 30 bucks..Damn!!!
That has to be the saddest airgun reviews I have ever seen, you should have supplied crying towels. Some poor kid's going to get one of those as a gift and never want to shoot again. Hopefully your video will prevent that sad event. Thanks for what has to have been the most disappointing review for you do and for sharing what must have been a loooong afternoon.
Lol do you have this gun ? Maybe you can do a review of it , i have this gun and its nothing special , and i would not buy this gun for any kid its got a bad safety flaw ! You can fire it when its calked back during loading , would you want a kid handlinga gun with a bad safety , he showed how the safety will not engage ,do you think thats good fora kid ?
Too funny, it is pretty good to me.... In quarantine with Covid. I've had this gun since 2006, never used.... He is trying all the wrong things I'm sure I would try😂.... One thing... His Review is REAL Review 🤕, not like Real Housewives 😊 Hope to find the BB Holder...
I had 1 of the Original Black ones back in the 80's it was my 3rd or 4th Bb Gun. My 2nd Bb Pistol. My 1st Spinger Pistol that shot Darts Pellets, and Bb's... It was ALOT of Fun! Super Hard to Cock, a little eaiser once you broke it in and got use to it. But ALOT of Fun Regardless! We Use to Make Better Darts than the ones made for it by Marksman by using Needles and/or Straight Pins and Show Strings. We would cut the ends off the Shoe Strings and leave about a cm. worth of cotton shoe string attached to the end of the taped end then stick the pin or needle through and out the tip. It would stick in anyyhin;
Beeman P17 is the one for the money. It's a good one.
I have that one, the P17 and yes it's excellent. Accurate and very powerful. You could load darts in it too I guess, since it loads straight into the barrel from the rear. Inexpensive but really a good air pistol.
A pellet gun from Califorina ust what I expect. SHIT.
These sucked 40 years ago and I see now the suck even more. I have one that I got at least 40 years ago it still works was a 25 foot shooter then and still is. This is a gun that it would be easy to shoot your eye out kids.
This got me to try and see if my old marksman still works and I have only shot it with pellets will be doing bbs
Charles, that air gun is more trouble than what it's worth. They would have to pay me to take from the store and use it as a target for my Diane 34.
you havent seen me use it again either

Hey, Charles what about darts? (it might be made for darts who knows...)
@@trevorjameson3213 exactly it is made for darts Like my PPK/S 85psi shooting distace 7feet max ecellent for my semi truck sleeper daily practice
Hi Charles! I wonder..? All the airguns in your videos are they yours? How many guns do you have? 😎
It is what it is... 😎
Yeah, kinda sad. Have you tried the Crosman PSM45? Same class of airgun, low powered BB springer, but you can actually hit a can at 20yds with it.
That was painful 😣
not my favorite
Thanks a lot!!!

I believe they can also be found on Amazon.
You missed the part where you see if you can hit the target by throwing it!
"Here son, a HOLE bag of pellets, it will last you a long time"
This is the only air gun review that I have viewed where I would recommend throwing the pistol in the bin. It was painfull to watch.
Can it use all different types of pellets like the red tip and hollow points
any .177

it came out in the 70thies...bad shooter.

I had one as a kid, the thing never shot straight, it was fun though.
I think the kwc bb guns have more power than that ?? U said the first one bounced of the card board ?
The KWC guns use Co2, I own 3 of them and all of them are great!
A flat nosed pellet IS a wadcutter.

I shoot salt at bugs out of mine haha

just arnet my cup of tea,but they are on the shelves so i show people. best thing about it,the darts
Max Velocity 200 fps

Think I will pass on this one. Thanks.
I might get me one of those! I really like that dispenser a lot.
Thank you, Charles... Good to see you again. Can't say a whole lot of good about that crappie bb gun... LOL!

Bummer of an air gun!
It’s a terrible spring gun that shoots LESS than 200 FPS. I have one. I guess I had one with a broken spring.
