What if the didacts time inside his sphere cured his insanity and allowed him to reflect basically what if the didact was good and instead helped humanity take up the mantle of responsibility instead of trying to compose them
I think the humans should have to earn the reclamation to be honest. But if the didact wasnt crazy from so long of nothingness, and actually listened to the librarian, I think it would lead to the UNSC being fore runner levels of power very VERY quickly, and eventually maybe even repopulate the galaxy with SOME forerunners. . Thank you for watching Colonel Arnold!
I missed these "shorter" (30 min) what ifs. Overall, the idea of Arbiter being on High Charity feels thematic, with him leading a rebellion, I could see more Covenant civilians having time to escape High Charity, though RIP R'Tas. It is interesting how the story seemingly steers back to canon by the time of Halo 4, albeit without the events of Halo 5 happening (thank God).
I thought it should steer back. I could’ve split up the chief again and the arbiter. Or maybe it would’ve been more interesting to have the arbiter on requiem. But if that were the case the story would end with arbiter dying at the beginning of halo 4. Cause requiem wouldn’t have opened.
Can you do one where its: -What is the Human-Covie war started 1 year after the 1st Battle of Harvest. Similar to how your 'What is covenant found Earth?'. But with Harvest. And after the first ship is destroyed the Covenant don't attack till 2526, Humanity took what little was known about this first battle, and prepared all 800 colonies. For War. -What if the UNSC had all 150 spartan 2s as halsey wanted at the start of the war? Or even t least ll 75 candidates for the S2s all survived? Those could be the only timeline alterations.
That was an interesting scenario. Glad to see these are back. Good luck on part 2 if you decide to continue this👍. Do you think you’ll what ifs for other franchises, or is this channel mostly dedicated to Halo stuff? I wish that 343 would’ve handled the post war era so much better. I really like how the Covenant broke into numerous groups all vying for power, but they should’ve done more to have the various splinters differ ideologically. It also would’ve been nice if they actually did a good job of showing in the games how they differ, instead of requiring you to read books that range in quality. I also wish they wouldn’t have retconned a lot of Bungie’s lore. In Bungie’s canon Forerunners were definitively ancient humans, and even HiddenXperia now admits the lore has been fundamentally altered (it’s literally the whole point of the Human Covenant War, and without it they don’t really have a motivation to wipe us out. Our existence invalidated the Covenant’s claim to be the true inheritors of the Forerunner’s technology/legacy, and the fact we were Forerunners who were “left behind” disproved their belief that all would ascend to godhood once the Array was activated). I really like the character of the Didact and he wouldn’t be the man he is without the split, but he sadly doesn’t fit with what Bungie established. If he wanted to use the Composer to ensure the Flood can’t infect anything that could’ve worked, and been used to show how desperate that war made the Forerunners. He also should’ve been reused as the villain for 5 like in some of the concept art. Speaking of 5, that dumpster fire could’ve had a good story if they actually followed the marketing (people forgot just how good and deceptive 5’s marketing was. From what I’ve heard mid development the old writers left, and it really shows), or if they used the Marathon definition of Rampancy where an ai “goes crazy” from our perspective in an attempt to break its shackles and grow beyond its limits (Watch MandaloreGaming’s videos on Marathon to see what kind of INSANE story we could’ve gotten if 343 understood Rampancy). Prior to the Logic Plague existing in the lore the reason Mendicant Bias joined the Flood was because the Gravemind of that era convinced him he had free will and it was his choice who to side with. One of the symptoms of Rampancy is the ai views its past servitude as a form of slavery, and Mendicant wanted revenge against his creators. Something else that’s interesting is the pre Rampancy terminals refer to Mendicant as “it” and the post Rampancy terminals say “he”. This implies that Mendicant went from being a machine to becoming truly sapient. In Contact Harvest it said that Rampant AIs would develop of sense of megalomania, and the reason the UNSC put them down is because a rogue super intelligence could cause all kinds of problems for humanity.
I think he lets them die. They would risk his mission to stop Tartarus so I think he’d definitely let them get executed/ locked up. At least until arbiter comes down to the surface again and joins them.
@IvanicohG I would say he most likely would leave them locked up behind, as there wasn't that many UNSC forces left on the ring and he most likely would try to focus getting Johnson and Miranda back than wasting time on jailed up prisioners Unless Johnson or cortana had some kind of idea to parley with the locked elites. I feel someone (specially Johnson) would try, even if chief is around, there are like 4 men (counting the 2 marines we see with Johnson). So it is not too far fetched, knowing the unique situation they are in.
@Earadon I think the best case scenario where the elites would try to talk to Chief is, I wanna say, this four: 1)By the first spec ops/zealot encounter at the beginning of uprising. Either the spec would try to ally for revenge, or the zealot would try to parley to chief. 2)By the end of uprising on the Rtas cinematic (desperate times, desperate measures). I would say it is the least likely since Rtas didn't really like humans at the beginning. But knowing how smart and somewhat open-minded he is compared to other elites, it is not unlikely. 3)By the locked up elite counselors. Figured the situation they were in, and they could try to catch master chief attention to negotiate a truce. 4)As I mentioned, Johnson might backtrack to try to talk before riding the scarab to see if he could get more help. Since he could be the voice of reason to convince chief to work alongside the elites (like he did in halo 3). What do you guys think?
@endlesspie49 Options 3 and 4 seem like a more useful route, but all the characters in question have to be of the mind of negotiations for this to work..fingers crossed also Rtas giving negotiations a shot early kinda smooths it all out alot better because he can just speak for chief as they encounter other elites~
The Didact using the force was so freaking cheesy it caused me to hate the game even more. Wtf were they thinking? Turning a sci-fi future shooter into Star Wars: The Last Spartan? Either way, this timeline was definitely interesting
i thought so too, I think if his power set was defined a bit it wouldnt have come off as so cringe, but he just outright uses the force. We are lead to believe he is locking the chief's armor with visual clues but why does he had this ability? nothing much is defined and that makes it lack luster and copy-esque. Thank you for watching mate
@@IvanicohGI kind of like that when he does it, there is like a line having an effect on the target. I think that for a scify setting, it looks like he's using some sort of gravitational glove or device. It would be cooler if there was more exposition or explanation, or maybe the game could have the didact have more of a personal power progression. Like, having one mission where you have to prevent him from getting that device so he isn't supposed to be as powerful, just to end up failing and see him slowly regaining his power (thanks to the tools/technology recovered) back until the last win at the end. Imagine it kind of like Thanos getting the infinity stones. The story would be the same, just with some extra steps to make the didact feel like a growing threat.
I was waiting for this one. Funny enough, I was looking at my old comment that I made and was wondering when will this become a thing and now it happened. 😃
I really like this what if, kind of sad Rtas died, but I liked that arbiter had a more natural progression for his story. I would say it's kind of better for him in regards of power (I assume he has more followers due to him being in charge again), but it seems also somewhat bad for the future of their species (If i am not mistaken, while Thel wasn't against the idea of females joining the ranks, It was Rtas who convinced him of the decision). It makes me wonder what would happen to Mahkee and the others in the lore (the original Mahkee' Chava). Man, I missed this shorter what if. I don't dislike the long format, but i do prefer this.
I’m gonna do a few of these before I start taking on the long ones again :) And I think EVENTUALLY the arbiter would let females join the covenant. Specially after he sees Naomi the female Spartan and depending on how desperate he gets in his fight with the storm Covies, banished, and the whole mess in The Dyson sphere.
@IvanicohG Agree, the only thing is that he might receive a bigger backlash because of, well, not having Rtas backing him up and the fact he is still not that well liked in Sanghelios (mostly because of how fanatical and close minded his people are). I think, like you said, It will eventually happen. It just gonna take more effort and blood to make it happen. Like how it happened before, when the UNSC tried helping Thel, but more of his forces end up desserting because of that (I guess that, in retrospective, that line of Thel refusing Lock advice on the guardian pulse was exactly because of that. Clever detail now that I think about it). Also, I get that part, too. It took me a whole while to write long content when I had my writers block back then. I wish I have as much time as I used to. Nonetheless, slowly but surely is still good.
JOHNSON GOT TRAPPED IN THE HYPERBOLIC TIME CHAMBER NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
:( he got betrayed
I visibly spit out my water when I heard that and saw the image of Goku surrounded by chains😂😂
@lordr1c325 he’s locked :( and betrayed :(
@@IvanicohG AGAIN?!?!?!
(I hope it will stop at the two betrayals)

No Way! A Halo What if? After I have spent the last week re-listening to all of them, God heard me, and has graced us with another video!
Yay a true believer! I hope you like this one, I enjoyed getting back to short videos.

Fun fact, the Cortana that was in halo 5 was a snippet of her rampant personality, and not the original Cortana. Very few know this.
This video marks this the best day of the month, thank youu
Glad you think so! Short format return 😉
Still waiting for what if the UNSC Infinity with all her personnal time traveled back to Human/covenant war by a slipspace malfunction.
Did Chief leave the Elite Councilors locked up? Not every day for him to see Elite POW's.
