I’ll explain, and I’ll tell you why virat kohli changes batting stance vs different bowlers. Virat Kohli consistency is because of his batting technique. I need a clarification. When I slow down the videos, I can see Virat does a front foot press against spinners. Can you plz elaborate why is that happening?
    Thanks mam 👍😊

      @soumyadiptamitra7656 2 роки тому +4

      There's a reason. Snehal described back and across movement of Virat against pace pretty well. But against spin, she's to some extent wrong. Virat or for that matter any world class batsman does keep slight forward press unless offcourse he's stepping out. Reason is simple. The same inertia. For spin, the pace is lot slower 80 to 95. So even if you are on slight forward press, you can always rock back and Cut/pull on short balls. For front foot full balls, slight forward press means, you have to take another long stride forward to drive and you have that time.
      Simple funda, forward press against fast bowling you will be late and miss, back and across against spin, you will be early and play the shot in the air
      Best way out
      Back and across against pace,
      Slight forward press against spin

    • @KingOfOhio26
      @KingOfOhio26 2 роки тому +12

      he is struggling against spin because he is afraid to come down the wicket like he used to earlier its all about confidence

    • @amitmishra7851
      @amitmishra7851 Рік тому

      @@KingOfOhio26I believe Kohli is kind of player who likes to rotating the strike and against spin he doe not play sweep shots against spin so spinners now knows that he will not hit them square of the wicket from good length so they can put extra fielder to block singles and when he can't rotate strike then he comes to pressure and sometimes misread the length, coming down the track is important to such players like pujara who does not play sweep but stepping out is his natural way to deal with spinners be it attacking or defensive.

    If you see virat kohli does take a very tiny trigger as soon as the spinner has bowled (small step with front foot) and then he goes to play . Meaning there will be trigger in both spin and pace to create the inertia as you have said . Just a bit of something i noticed and maybe you missed

    Trigger movement is natural in Virat's batting....there is nothing wrong in it coz he has the ability to change his trigger movement forward and backward according to line and length of ball....

    Very informative, thank you!
    When facing bowlers who bowl 130+ kph, is it "necessary" or more advisable to have a trigger?
    I used to think that it is more related to a player's personal habit, some might still prefer to stay still and move only after they've seen the release- others might want to break the inertia beforehand

      I'm not a cricket expert but I think it's not necessary to have a trigger movement. If you struggle a lot against 130+ kph balls and think that you don't react quick enough, then try it once. It tends to keep you on alert since you are not at the state of rest(or inertia as explained in the video). This helps you to react quickly.

    Yes.. i use trigger movement and i learn it from a interview he gave after he made a comeback after being dropped from the team and hit a double century.. after doing that i became excellent facing the fast bowlers no matter how fast it is.. timing got better.. getting into the position to play the stroke whether it is a short pitched or a full length delivery..
    I have a little bit of front trigger movement which makes me get into the frontfoot easily and come to backfoot as my body weight is on frontfoot..
    And avoid open chested stance because it makes you more vulnarable to the deliveries outside of the stump..

    Guys no disrespect. See first why did we start playing cricket. To improve technique or win matches, make money, get success or because you loved cricket.
    Every time you play any sport, one should enter the ground to have fun.
    Why because you are relaxed. When you are playing with your kid or someone who doesn't know cricket, how do you feel. You feel you can win any match right? Why? Because as I said you are playing for fun.
    On the outside it's fun But deeper this also means you are clear, you can the win match. Get it.
    I repeat, fun yes but on a deeper level you know you can win any match because you are not afraid of losing.
    So have fun, but let me give you another example be happy as you goto movie when you enter the ground. Can the movie hurt you?
    Get it. This is the mind set you should be, another. Eg, Sehwag.
    Next coming to batting, you need to be clear with your game. What kinds batsman you are or want to be. So bat accordingly to this. This is rule number 1.
    Next If something is working be it wrong technique but you are sure it is good for you and you will win matches, keep it.
    If something is not working or its a major weakness and opposition gets you out, change only that or remove that technique from your game.
    Rest 90% focus on just loving to play and how to be enjoying every time you step on the ground.
    Tell me if you had to be so serious about sports, you rather do IT or medical or engineering and you surely get a safe and good future, why play sports, get it.
    Tell me it's a world cup final and you are absolutely relaxed and kow one thing you will give your best shot or somehow win the match???
    Get it.
    Think. Pause. Ponder.

    Trigger movement should be taught to young players from initial stages so that they adapt to it.... I hope everyone knows of a proverb in telugu which is " mokayi vanganidhey manayi vanguthundha"

    Madam initioa technique usually used to put pressure on the baller. Its just a quick foot movement nothing else its not a rocket science, its very old technique Australian r used like Steve Waugh, Ponting, Smith Demen Martin n even Biran Lara legend. Its just a new name Triger Movement given by new ricketer.

    Trigger movement doesn't require in Australia and subcontinent pitches but u say about english pitches, 98% english players in county cricket take trigger movement... that's why they fail in ashes down under... look ind plays great in aussy pitches..look Joe root and Jo's butler, k Williamson takes trigger movement to play late... that's suited as pitches in country respective... l always prefer trigger movement..it's balance ur body.. if u long player, then trigger movement but If u short player 5 to 5.9 ft, then don't trigger movement.. generally english player almost 6 ft , they take trigger movement..in Indian academy, coaches never tell u to take trigger movement bcoz lack of seam movement..but if u play in english pitch, u r forced to take trigger movement, if u long lads..

    Today Virat got out on 20, in WTC final 2023 against Australia.. so definitely the trigger moment is not helping too much for him 😂😂😂😂

    One step away to your favourite short.. if your fav short is cover drive then back and cross trigger and then one step to drive cover example watch Kumar sangakara..
    If you are power hitter wide leg trigger just one step to hit massive shots example Mitchell Marsh..
