    I haven’t seen any one playing leg side flick bottom hand rolling over top hand only SRT!!! He does it beautifully in early innings of ODI and gets lot of boundary , ball goes like a rocket !!

    My most favorite shots of him: Straight Drive, Backfoot cover-drive, front foot cover drive & Square drive. His Straight drive & front foot cover drive looked more beautiful because it used to be just a short-arm jab. It looked more effortless.

      @@sage.rivendell Kohli being a Modern great doesn't change the fact that he is one of the greatest to ever play the game .... He got 80 int. centuries in an era when Tests and ODIs are played fairly less than what they used to ... He is the most adaptable great of the game to ever live .... He plays 2 months of the year in IPL , is the leading scorer in every single form of the game . And no one ever played such clutch innings in such harsh circumstances so consistently in every form of the game .... So yeah he is KING KOHLI .... Carries his team every time around .

    What made Sachin so good?
    My opinion is that he could judge the length of the ball incredibly fast, he had perfect technique, he always adjusted his body weight accordingly, his timing was impeccable, he let the bat do the work (it was rarely forced) and above all he had this ability to play 3-4 shots for the same bowl.
    I’ve also heard from bowlers interviews that he seemed to know what you were going to bowl before you did it. I think that was down to his understanding of the game and strategy.
    What does everyone else think?

    • @victor256in
      @victor256in 2 місяці тому

      He said in a video where he was demonstrating batting with Shane Warne that 1. He did not think much, and went with his natural instinct. 2. As you mentioned, great visual spatial reflexes, and ability to pick the length, speed of the ball. 3. Situational awareness. 4. Body posture and balance. 5. Supremely fast reflexes. 6. And the most important thing, an almost meditative quality of being able to focus for hours at a time, and reflect on his own practice. To sum up, God gifted talent and supreme mental strength.

    I remember watching a video where Sachin was getting out playing the Cover drive (I think) by edging it to the slips. He decided to knock it out of his repertoire for that series in Australia. Scored a century without playing that shot. Immense concentration and knowing his limitations. That kind of adjustment in taking out what was one of his best run producing stroke, shows me his brilliance. Wasn't just a technically great bat, but was also cerebral in his approach.

    With all due respect...i still think Tendulkar was a far better and technically composed batsman than Sir Don Bradman. The latter mostly played only against England but Tendulkar played in different conditions against a variety of bowlers. But then the elegance that Tendulkar carried, nah I still think Tendulkar was more elegant to watch, specially his straight drives, cover drives and that backfoot punch drive...just cant get enough of it. Lots of love and respect for the great Sachin Tendulkar from Pakistan!

    British brought football, hockey and cricket to India. India adopted cricket and considers it as it's religion. We disregard other sports person who are really really in a tough games. Cricket is a game of convenience for India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc. Cricket requires skill and a limited amount of fitness which is enough to make you world champ. Even pot bellied Inzamam ul Haq and Rohit Sharma types can also become world champs scoring tons. Running between the wickets in your own timing. In batting ball comes to you. If you cannot bowl fast like Brett Lee, become Ashwin and Bhaji. Whereas in soccer, basketball, track and field, hockey, Tennis etc you not only need skills, but also enormous amount of SPEED , STAMINA AND FITNESS. OPPONENT STRETCHES YOU IN ALL THESE PARAMETERS. To beat Maradona you have to beat him in his speed, stamina and fitness . So is with Bolt, Micheal Jordon, Micheal Phleps, Nadal, Federer etc. It's neck to neck fight in all these parameters. Cricket is a convenience and reflection of an attitude for India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc. If infrastructure and money were to be seen for any games popularity, than why people from India , Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc settled in England, US and Europe don't play soccer, basketball, track and field tennis, rugby and other games, which are popular there. There also, people from India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc settled from generation play cricket only. Cricket mad nations cannot be sporting nations. Cannot find champs in games like soccer, basketball, track and field etc try to search champs in a lazy game cricket. You talk of Micheal Jordon, Indian will bring cricketer. You talk of Maradona and Pele Indian will bring cricketer. You talk of Micheal Phleps. Indian will bring cricketer .You talk of Federer and Nadal,Indian will bring cricketer. They are totally at different levels and cricketer stands nowhere to them.Even the cricket playing population in India is more than the population of England, Australia, Newzealand, South Africa combined. For these countries cricket is just a game. They are world class in soccer, basketball, track and field, basketball, hockey, volleyball, rugby etc.

    • @shaktiswami662
      @shaktiswami662 3 місяці тому

      You haven't played much cricket, forget about playing first class. Try standing in slips on 4th day afternoon and being alert, and then tell me you don't require fitness. It's much more of a mental battle than a physical battle! All sports require different levels of fitness. Ask any one of Federer, Nadal or Pele if they could drive in F1 for 3 hours straight. They would throw up with sheer G forces. Does that make them bad athletes? No! They have trained to be super fit according to the demands of their game.
      Stop making ridiculous comparisons just because you think cricket doesn't need fitness.

    I really wonder if he had to play with such a heavy bat. Wonder if it could have caused some of his injuries like tennis elbow and the back issues. Can’t have been easy to carry that at all. Sure it must have had it advantages - like the cover drive needed just a punch and he just needed to time it well, but it must have been extremely difficult to play horizontal bat shots like the pull, hook or the backfoot defence against the rising short ball. Glenn mcgrath exploited that advantage several times. If you see, most of Sachins dismissals by Mcgrath since the 1999 world cup especially in crunch games were off the short ball. Think he played the 1996 world cup with a lighter bat and he scored plenty of runs back then. Wonder why he decided to change.
