The greatest rock band of all time ! Too many great artists in one band to be surpassed !
Back door man back then was a term for a guy messing around with someone else's women. He can run out the back door if her guy comes home.
Backdoor Man he's fucking that tight ass
Beat me to it
A “side piece”
Greatest band in history!! Please do more especially live performances!!
I was 12 years old when I first heard this. I'm 68 now and still get the chills when I hear this! 😎
The GOATS of GOATS! This is a very raunchy song, not not privy to every year! Don’t let this color your attitude about Led Zeppelin because they are very eclectic and very talented! Don’t pay attention to the lyrics on this song, but listen to the musical instrumentation! I know you guys are believers that’s why I’m telling you this!! I am 72 years old I am Christian to the hilt, but I still listen to Led Zeppelin because I love the music they put forth! Mostly lyrics are very good! God bless and have a good day🙏✝️❤️ if you want to see them at their best check them out at the 1973 Madison Square Garden concert! One song in particular since I’ve been loving you is one of the best performances of a concert of all time! P. S. When he sings back doorman, he does not mean that he means a gold digger. That is how they express it in England. Don’t forget Republican! If you want your daughter to have a future, do not vote in Kamala! Back Door means the man that comes in the back door as the husband is leaving out the front door! You guys are being dirty! It’s an exit, not an entrance! 🤨
Thanks for checking out my favorite band since 1969 ❤
Hey guys ... I respect the journey! This dropped in Nov 1969, eons ahead of its time in terms of innovative sound techniques, composition, rock/blues fusion, and "in your face" presentation! Critics were hard but 54 years later they have sold nearly 350 million albums (not singles, they released very few of those and only under extreme pressure from Atlantic records) and are regarded as one of the top rock acts of all time, some say only behind the Beatles! The Lyric about "Back Door Man" is an old blues term used to describe a dishonest girl who had visitors in and out the back door while her man was away! Terrible stuff, but not what people today think it means. If you can get past the lyrics and flamboyant style, this group is truly one of the most innovative and influential groups, period. Try some more, just take it in small doses:)
Thank you for your honesty, knowing we're not in a culture that has a lot of respect for your point of view. Faithfulness to His truth is its own reward 😊
Back then "back door man" was a term used to describe a side man a woman cheats with, using the back door to come and go to see her. Using the back way to sneak into her home.
❤❤❤Robert❤❤❤
Congratulation on your anniversary ❤my wife and I are going on our 46th anniversary ❤😊
God bless you brother and sister and your little one!
In the context of blues music, a “back door man” refers to a man who has an extramarital affair with a married woman, often using the back door as an exit before the husband returns home. This phrase originated in Southern American culture, particularly in the rural blues tradition.
Since you mentioned it was your anniversary - congratulations! You should try Zeppelin's song "Thank You" which vocalist Robert Plant wrote for his wife, Maureen. Zeppelin do have a lot of less sexual songs like "That's the Way" (written about the socio and ecological issues of the day), "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" (it's pronounced like "brawn-er-ire" and is a Welsh word meaning 'golden hills'. Robert wrote it about his dog, Strider), and my absolute favorite by them "The Rain Song" which is achingly beautiful. They have more also, but these few should get you started.
Out the back door when her man comes in the front door. "When the Levee Breaks" cover of a real 1927 Mississippi flood event. The drum intro is legendary and has been sampled numerous times. "Playing for change" with John Paul Jones does a fabulous cover of it as well with musicians from around the world. #Charity
I want to be your back door man is a reference to a man running out the backdoor when you come home
I love the raunchy ❤❤❤
Back door man= side guy comes in the back door after husband leaves out the front, and then leaves out the back door when husband comes in the front.
Love Led Zepplin. You should check out the video that was done at the Kennedy Center where they received awards, and Heart sang Stairway to Heaven. They were in the audience. It was awesome! Love your reactions!
Wait wait….it didn’t MEAN that back then! Trust me. Read comments below.
But yeah, he got it right. They weren’t talking about “love”. Well, we were pretty wild back then. Some more than others of course. My hubby and I too are born again Christians. I take everything in life with looking at it through His eyes. Some will say you can’t listen to anything like this. Others go the other extreme and say anything goes. I just appreciate (actually VERY much) Zeppelin’s creative genius. All 4 of them were consummate professional musicians.
It's fairly easy to understand what Plant is talking about. The lyrics are as subtle as Foghat's "Slow Ride."
Is this a repost? I saw this reaction quite a few weeks ago, lol. ANyhow, a good one, and a fantastic band!
Back then AM stations wouldn`t play these songs if they were over 3 minutes. But thanks God I grew up
in the SF bay area where we had FM radio, ahhhhh the STEREO and the DJ`s played the whole songs. Bonus
was the music scene where ALL the bands came though. 69-70 live at Winterland SF $5 then in `77 at the
Oakland ballpark, Day on the Green. 16yo in 1969... moon walk, mini skirts, BEST Rock bands EVER.
Efff Emmmm
No static at allllll
This was released in 1969 at a time when free love and mind altering experiences were the norm. But, even for its time, this song was considered risque. Not as bad as many of the rap lyrics we get these days, though
Wow you're nuts!
Y'all should react to Xanadu by Rush at the Exit stage left concert
lol .. someone is blushing …. The person on the right of the screen .. is definitely blushing ….. I’m just sayin ….
As someone who was there when they became the next big thing, you 2 are tripping if you think this song has anything to do with marriage, it is all about getting it on. Beyond the lyrics, it would be nice if modern listeners said a little more about the I instrumentation, what the the music itself does to them and sounds like to you. Many reactors focus on just the lyrics which shortchanges the band members, big time. This band has arguably top 3 all timers at all 4 positions. Jimmy Page should be high on the list when discussing them as he started the band, is arguably, the best Rock Guitarist ever (my top 3), and produced all their records, with much help from bassist, keyboardist John Paul Jones who was also a studio ace. Add in John Bonham on heavy drums and Robert Plant on ground breaking vocals and you have one of the best bands ever. More Zeppelin, please, and talk about how they played, not just how or what Plant sings, it will make you reviews better. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶🔥
black dudes live in the dream and he's got a strawberry blonde beautiful
No...he's talking about sex. They were rock stars in the 70's, everything was about sex. If you guys wanna push your religion then maybe this isn't the band for you. Respectfully, you guys do your thing but not everything is PG13 rated. This song is about committing adultery.
Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘
He's talking about before marriage...
Great song
this is not the led zeppelin song for you guys.. try "the rain song", "ramble on", or "d'yer mak'r"
basically they can sing anything, but people have their preferences
He is definitely not talking about after marriage. Keep listening. He talks about sneaking in her back door when her husband is going out the front ("I wanna be your back door man"). Look it up. He is NOT talking about his wife. Being Christian is cool - being naive does not get you anywhere. These guys are not Christian. Please.
I always find it strange with people who do reactions that the try to tell us what the words mean. You didn't tell us what you thought about the tune, the song, whether you liked it, hated it, or loved it.
He is talking about someones wife. Back in the day in England a backdoor man was the guy going out the back door when the husband came home because the wife was cheating.
I'm surprised you guys react to Led Zeppelin. This song is about getting down without marriage (notice the term "backdoor man", which is an old blues term for the guy sneaking in and out of the back door). But again, Robert Plant, at least, is a Pagan...and the others were really into Alistar Crowley. Seems like the opposite of what you're interested in. As another aside: Polygamy is far more common worldwide than monogamy. Specifically, men having more than one wife. Men generally can't handle it when it's the other way around. Oh my god! I just figured it out. You guys are reacting to this type of music as an opportunity to preach the gospel to a bunch of heathens, like me. Smart strategy!
Subliminal?!? Hahahahahahaha!!! This is all about slap in your face. If you don't get the message of this song, you are not of the animal kingdom.
Revelation 10:8
Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
Keep jesus out of this- I'm out
Excuse me, please, but ¿Why you are speecking so much in the middle of the song? 😢
just play the tune & chat less
Back door man means when the husband went out the front door, she’s cheating on him with her back door man.
Almost. It meant that when the husband came home the lover exited through the back door.
@charlesmarshall1309 it's both dude
@@charlesmarshall1309either one works, same thing.
My wife and are celebrating 47 years.
