I prefer pre hung, tried installing a flat door and i could never get it to shut perfectly when i put it back on the hinges. A pre hung door most of the work is done for you.
I wish I had watched this video before having someone install 2 doors like the one featured in the video for me. He installed them upside down. I could have corrected him if I had done a bit of research. Now I'm stucked with poorly installed 🚪.
Great video. Right to the point and no wasted time. Only one part missing. You forgot to tell us what to do with the excess on the long edge after transferring line from the old door. Obviously we are to trim it with a saw. Otherwise I think this covered it.
I'm not a carpenter but why would you measure 10" from the floor, then measure 9-7/8", and cut off the 1/8"? If you use the previous door as a template, couldn't you just use it to mark the excess and cut it off?
😂 Yeah you're assuming that people replacing doors have all that stuff at their house. That's why we go to Lowe's and Home Depot. To buy stuff that's already the right size with the holes already. 🤦♀️
Now I realize what massive idiots we were for not separating the hinges. We once had to remove the front door to get a new refrigerator into the house, and we just unscrewed the screws on the hinges on the frame, and now our door has problems.
For one freaking door it's too much money to spend and too much work to do! I preferred to pay $25.00 to install one missing door I needed. I am redoing my house myself. Now I am putting new floor, painting and repairing walls, I even did some electrical work myself, all of this for the first time and all it is looking awesome! So I am very sure I am not lazy! That is my opinion and I stand by it! I don't need no one else stupid opinion on MY opinion without even knowing me!

Because one American might have trouble with construction and home improvement does not mean that they do not work hard in other areas. I was never introduced to tools and construction methods growing up so this is overwhelming to me as well... I should add that the people that put this video together are clearly American.
