I appreciate and value your time and knowledge 🙏! It takes a grown man to set their ego aside and put this info out here for us family oriented or poor, have too do it yourself'ers like ME!
I appreciate this; it's all in the details. This is something I could do with a few more tools. As an engineer, I have to say that that tranmission is a marvel of engineering. I have 3 vehicles with the 4l60e. I might try to get my hands on a core to build and have a spare.
Glad you took the initiative and took advantage of every opportunity to make a funny haha. Random side note, dig the gm keys tattoo on right hand. Sick
The keys are for my buick national thank you!
Thank you for teaching the details on the valve body, books & manuals can help visualize. The rare to my generation & for anyone that owns a 1994…will definitely have no choice but to learn…no codes ? Just subscribed again, I swore I subscribed but hey, I’m human. Rock on & thank you.
Dude I'm 61 yrs. Young worked hard played hard . Soon will have 3 implanted joint's heavy equipment does that to you. But you are a breath of fresh air. For a crusty old codger. Because I am no bull shit. I was at one point afraid of automatic transmissions. Working with the man who helped tony Rossi Sr. Discover and build the first iteration of the trans brake. You are a gem young man. Thanks for the video's.
That Stanley, clip from The Office was spot on
I’m paying attention to this build because 3&4 went out in my 96 Roadmaster at 89k. Been trying to save up for a year to get it rebuilt but life keeps getting in the way so I’m going to have to pull it out and rebuild it myself. I’ve only done 3 speeds in the past so I’ve been nervous as hell and dreading the thought of tearing it down. Hopefully I don’t fix one problem and create another doing it.
Youll be alright. Just dont rush or get impatient. #1 mistake
@@PerformaBuiltTransmissions Thanks man. I’ve seen a lot of teardown videos but you are doing a great job making step by step videos on how to properly build it back. I really appreciate the time you spent doing these to help walk some of us through it who haven’t been into a 4L60E before.
Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge.
Very helpful content.
Love the inserted shorts and comments when you mess up.
Dam bro if this was more of a conversation with no visual it would be nonstop laughter.. Always gotta put that D to the P!! What up!😂😂😂😂
Cheers bloke for that 👍
When I reuse the end plugs I flip them around to the newer looking side
I have done as well. Perfectly ok to do. Should have remembered to mention , thank you!
Great video. Do you guys sell those metal pistons?
We dont sell any of our proprietary parts
What happens if you put the 1-2 accumulator in upside down? I had r,1,3,4 and after 1 mile lost 3,4! It’s the only thing I can think that could be wrong because I KNOW I put that in upside down
Ive never tried it but i think it would make your 1-2 shift very violent. I dont feel your accum has much to do with your issue with 3-4
@ ok thanks
Does the epc solenoid have to be programmed before running the transmission?
It does not but a tcm tune is advisable
Thank you for the reply
Is it ok to wash part's in a dishwasher being serious here I have on in my garage used it for tool clean up etc. no one likes a greasy tool.lol
Yeah tbh i used to do that in the beginning. Spare dishwasher and added some degreaser. I never washed anything with bearing like the planets with water though, just mineral spirits
I was under the impression that the 4l65 in the 1-2 accumulator was stiffer springs equals to a softer shift?
In the accumulator. Not the accumulator valve.
What do you think about the end plugs with the o rings?
If its badly worn for pwm especially then Only a good thing except dont tear the o ring.
Good info but bad camera person
Would have been so much better video without that nasty language
