    I have the same car as you also with a pmas Cold air intake and I had a JLT 123 mm cold air intake as Well so I cut the JLt intake with a hacksaw and cleaned it up and use that part for the upper part of the cold air intake and used the pmas lower part with the mass airflow housing and it fits perfectly in that box and also I used the stock rubber grommets from my original cold air intake and put those on the bottom of the pmas Airbox and it fits perfectly and the air filter does not touch the hood whatsoever. I put a little bit of grease on the very top of the air cleaner plastic part to see if it was rubbing on the hood and it no longer does that and now my car adds timing when I do a pull and my airbox is nice and snug now. Before this I was getting about 3° of knock activity and now it’s actually giving me negative knack which means it’s adding timing. that pmas is the best cold air intake for that car but when I use the original upper Pipe the air filter would not sit low enough in the box and always touch the hood. Just a thought but it works flawlessly now I think that’s what your issue could be

    If the box causes issues, remove it... water meth will solve any heat issues. Lol... wonder if they make a 30 - 20 degree intake adapter to lower your filter? I'd certainly go through the entire engine and exhaust and tighten everything up before adding parts though.
    When she's running right, she certainly is running right. Fun lil car ya got there.

    Run E85 and desensitize those knock sensors. E85 is highly detonation resistant and you’ll be amazed on your car with 2-3# more boost and 22deg timing! Regardless, great idea going thru everything to identify possible causes. I run 24deg timing up top with 15psi and make over 950rwhp on E85. Gen 3 TVS2650 numbers to come but those 2.3 blowers like yours have big potential

    Have you run the engine with the hood up (obviously parked hahahaha)? Hold up the air intake tube a bit to keep it off the valve cover to see if the knocking stops. Put some pressure on the air box with your hands to see if that makes it stop. Might be a stupid question but??????

    I use Lund. Had them "desensitize" the knock sensors. Car still knocks.

      It might still knock. All the Knox sensor's do is pull timing when they detect knock they don't actually prevent knock from happening. Look through all your exhaust aswell

      @@18dubz I have a 16 auto with 4.10 gears, roush CAI, Gt350 TB and manifold, passenger oil separator, and an h pipe. I hear rattle from the transmission cover, but idk if that will affect the knock sensor. I'm going to go through everything in the engine bay and pray the data logs come up clean lol

    Hi I have the same mods done to my car and loses power sometimes. Did you ever find out why it was false knocking ?

    • @TheHorseman351
      @TheHorseman351  4 роки тому

      To be honest. Not really. I ended up going e85 and taking it to a different tunner. No issues since🤷‍♂️ however when I got rid of my cats it seemed to help.

      TheHorseman I’m on E85 too. Maybe my exhaust is loose. I might have try a different tunner.
