I wasn't aware you could enter a negative value for a light source's power and have it absorb lighting from that area of the scene. That awesome! Thanks for the great video Brandon! I hope you have a fantastic week! 😃
mate i was literally gonna ask for a detailed video and uve posted it i love ur shaders related video yet to watch the 2nd part but ive got soo much valuable knowledge and i could apply sooo many of it thanx a lot bless u
Hey guy from California - I don't know if it's you or Blender but this content is great. There's a ton to learn in Blender and your videos are incredibly helpful. I especially like the pacing and information density. I almost made it to the halfway point of this video before I spent the rest of they day exploring the sun setting. Linking to your other videos is also very much appreciated. And for some more good news: UA-cam thinks your channel was worth promoting to me. I've already subscribed and look forward to what you publish in the future. Only nitpick is to keep reminding us of the basics -- yes, "adjust it by hitting s" is good but "adjust it with the standard scale tool by hitting s" would be better. And "shift-T" must mean something ... target? Figuring out how to find what where is so overwhelming when getting started, especially for us non-artists. Learning that objects have different properties depending on which render engine is selected explains some problems I've seen. This adds even more complexity to an already complex program. On that note, I get it now but I would recommend reminding people how to change the render engine because it matters so much to what you're talking about here, and it is non-obvious to newbies. Thanks!
Hey! I really appreciate all of that feedback. It's a tough decision to know just how far to break it down - but I'll keep that in mind. Thank you so much and I hope it was helpful overall. Take care!
@@Brandon-3D Just wanted to say that I've watched a bunch of your videos now and they're all really great. I hope my previous reply didn't come across as too critical. I'd say you're making the right editorial decisions at least 95% of the time. It may be even more and I just don't appreciate how those little gaps force me to question, experiment, and learn. Thanks again!

Thanks for another clear video, Brandon. Lighting makes a scene and this will help me make mine...when I have a Mac that can cope. 😄
Thanks again Philip! I'm hoping to be able to put out videos a little more frequently soon. Hope that Mac works out soon! Take care!
I have a problem where when i render i can see the "frame" of the light sources and the straight lines mentioned at 1:32
Idk why I watched this. I already know all this. Ig I just didn’t wanna miss out incase there was something I didn’t know
LOL. Sorry.
@@Brandon-3D not your fault bro I do it all the time 😅
What should we do if we want the lights on the stage not to touch the plane?
