- Learn a simple, easy technique on how to apply a chocolate collar on any type of cake
This UA-cam video will show you how to apply a fancy chocolate collar around your cake by just using a strip of butter paper or parchment paper and an icing bag full of melted cooled chocolate. It is that easy and really quick.
Cut your butter paper according to the height and circumference of your cake. Pipe the cooled and melted chocolate in a criss cross design on the butter paper, let the chocolate semi set and quickly wrap it around the side of the cake.
Place the entire cake in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes or in the freezer for a few minutes. Once out of the fridge, gently remove the butter paper carefully from the hardened chocolate collar and you have a beautiful chocolate collar around your cake. It cant get any easier than this !!!!
The chocolate collar looks so professional and totally gives a wow effect on any type of cake you want to make.

I have a wilton 2D nozzle. Can i make shell border with that nozzle? Or can you tell me which star nozzle is used to make shell border - like open star or closed star?

Yes I certainly will
Use any white chocolate and I just add a few drops of food colour. If u add too much the chocolate will become hard (seize ) if that happens just add a tspn of oil.

While placing the chocolate collar on the cake so the cake should b chilled or wen it is frosted by truffle Dan only directly v hav to place chocolate collar?
Cake doesn’t have to be chilled
After frosting can apply the collar.

Do u let the cake set frst applying the design on chocolate or let it frst dry them apply on cake and chilled to remove butter paper
+Fahima Khathoon yes the cake frosting shuld be somewat set specially if u r a beginner.
Apply the collar on the cake and just put it in the fridge (10 minutes) or freezer for a few minutes and then yes tromped the butter paper.

Hiii .... learnt to make chocolate lace from ur vdos , but since winters started , just not able to make it as it breaks up v fast
You need to work faster and lift it before it sets . If the collar sets use a hairdryer from a little distance n blow hot air.

I really love the techniques you show us. They are smart and super easy. I would like to know with which chocolate or cocoa, the black shine effect comes on truffle cakes which we see in your videos and cake shops. As I add cream to melted dark chocolate it turns brown in colour.

I use compound and add butter but wen u add cream to the melted chocolate it becomes darker. Pls see my chocolate truffle cake video
Maam I also use 2M premium dark chocolate compound CP17 and do it as you show in your video....but the needed effect doest come.

I think it will stick to the cheesecake easily as the chocolate is not fully dry
