    When changing oil, take the oil cap off, it'll help with the flow. Also, don't tighten the filter too much, I always tighten by hand, it helps for next time.
    As for the tool to take the filter off, I used a strap tool to release the filter in the past. Now I use Aeroflow filters, they have a built in nut on the bottom of the filter, very easy to take off.
    I also like your catch tray, I'll have to look into getting one.

      7s29 nice thanks for the info man!

    • @brendanyazzie2774

      no, dont just tighten by hand, jusy tighten it nice and snug with a wrench rather than trusting a hand tighten, oil has a higher chance to leak if tightened just by hand. you dont want it torqued down either. just snug

      @Bonezz024 5 років тому +2

      @@brendanyazzie2774 There's no need at all to tighten the filter with a tool. Doing that runs you the risk of over-tightening and damaging something next time you go to get it off.

    I never put oil in the filter if its on the bottom because it's already going to automatically go stright into the filter and pan and the oil pump is just going to pump it all the way through when its started and drive afterwhen you fill it up anyway . Only on the gasket.

    Great car and nice job! You have correctly followed all the steps required by dodge's techdoc including pre filling the filter;) keep on working like this

  • @Bajaheat
    @Bajaheat 8 років тому +3

    You should not be low on coolant. Keep an eye on it. If it gets low again get it into the dealer. It's a sealed system so if your low your burning it or leaking it somewhere

    • @tank3929
      @tank3929  8 років тому

      Bajaheat I noticed it's the same on several Scat packs not sure if the dealer doesn't fill them all the way up but sure got it filled up now and hasn't gone down so far

      Mine is below the cold filling range as well after 5000 miles.... seems to be normal?

    • @tank3929
      @tank3929  8 років тому

      Oldschool Gamer Rick yeah seems like it is but after the oil change I definitely suggest to fill it up to the maximum line on the side. Idk makes me feel warm and fuzzy that way lol

    • @rudyp2281
      @rudyp2281 7 років тому

      It's a cost saving measure from when they build these cars from the factory. Kinda stupid that they'd cheap out on coolant though....
      but yes it's normal.

    you're able to drive right onto those ramps no problem? I have a set of ramps like that but the spliter/bumper hits it before the tires do.

  • @badlilstang

    Most change first oil change around 1500 to 2000 miles... then again 3k later at the 5k mark.. depends on what you believe about break in but I say better safe than sorry.. friction is friction on new parts that create a wear pattern and seat.

    I work at a dealership the srt oil flters were discontinued in Dec 20, just what's out there now, ps there the same basically

  • @ob1kdanny87
    @ob1kdanny87 8 років тому +2

    did you have a check engine light at the end? lol. I also recommend a Two Way 3 Leg Oil Filter Wrench Remover because the one you have will eventually fail, I use to have some of those and they started to strip after a while. Nice ride btw! Walmart sales the oil the cheapest and you'll save good bucks by buying 2 of 5qt jugs rather than 7 individual 1 qt oil cans.

    • @tank3929
      @tank3929  8 років тому

      ob1kdanny87 haha no sir, the ignition was on so all the lights pop up. But thanks for the info bro!! I'll definitely be looking into that tool. Thank you man appreciate it! And thanks for watching! :)

    Nice video. I'm not a member of the safety/nanny police, but you should use some rubber gloves to avoid contact with the oil. They put disclaimers on the bottles that contact with oil can cause cancer. Plus it's a real witch to clean up.

    What are the ramps you have used?! - do they have enough clearance for the bumper?!

    • @tank3929
      @tank3929  7 років тому +2

      Ramy Mesiha I had to use small 2x4 pieces in front of the ramps to avoid the bumper hitting the ramps

    • @tank3929
      @tank3929  8 років тому +1

      Midwest Mopars yeah these cars sit really low stock, forgot to add that in the video but I used two small 2x4 wood pieces at the front of the ramp to give it that higher lift same thing to go back down.

  • @andr364692

    Dummy question - when I have that low 'oil life' reading on my 392 charger, does that mean low oil and I can just add oil into the engine until I can get the guzzler into the service dealer for the proper oil change?

    This is such a joke trying to find the factory replacement filter for my 2021 charger r/t 5.7. Every site has a different number and says the number from the last site won’t fit. 4892339be. 04884899ab. 04884899ac.4892339be again. Lastly 5038041AA is said to be compatible but the higher quality srt version. This is crazy!
