Was looking for a video to send to a friend of mine that lives out of state and came across your video. Thank you, nicely done, well lit and clear audio/video.....Also, Just my 2 cents here, been wrenching for over 30 years. On re-installing the filter, you should almost never need to use a filter wrench. Common practice is, run the filter on by hand, once the filter gasket contacts the mounting surface, you give it anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn, and that's about it. Some mechanics may say a little more or a little less, but almost any full time mechanic will tell you always put it on by hand without a wrench. You don't want to slam it on there so tight. Hope this helps.
you were obviously smart enough to get the zl1 pinch weld deal...curious why you didn't get the puck it slides into...fits your Pittsburgh jack perfectly...
Li Heath Every car (even lawn mower) I've had does that, it's normal. Because there are different materials in your car and they have different properties, they contract and cool at different rates, which makes them kind of bump into each other, and this causes the clicking you hear.
Jacking the car up one "corner" at a time puts a tremendous twist force on the frame, which can't be good for the structural integrity of the car. I prefer to lift both sides together, which either requires 2 jacks or driving the car up on ramps.
@@williamiwaniuk5561 I agree, ramps are the best. Trouble is I had to spend big $$$ to get a set of race-ramps that would clear the low profile of the Charger. But it's worth to me.
@@hwherron Yes, I understand. I used to own a C5 Corvette, so I have already made that purchase as well as the jacking pucks that are recommended for the front end.

Yeah you can but the charger from factory sits pretty low in the front already and I’ve had scrapes from speed bumps and metal lying on the floor. Shield on my scat pack is scratched but my pan and oil filter are perfectly fine.

Is there a good 0w-40 synthetic oil that i can use in my 2019 scat pack that won't void my warranty???? I grew up being taught to never use pennzoil no matter what...
Hey i have a question. I have a 2019 challenger scatpack widebody, and it only has 635 miles but ive had it for 6 months do i need to change the oil? Just to be safe or am i still good for a while
I would based on how long you've had it. I drive my car about 10k miles per year and I try to change it at least every 6 months even if the oil life isn't low.
I probably would soon but I don't think it will be a problem if you don't. If you purchased it off a dealer lot and it sat a while that oil could be a year old.
@@SRTorque Extremely clean install. Mopar should learn and make these factory so folks can enjoy final version of internal combustion engines. In the future we will be modifying code lines for the Electric motors.

Yeah I've heard that as well. Something about emissions. I've only ran the ultra platinum 0w-40 for the last 2 1/2 years with no issues. I have trust issues so no one has changed the oil in my car except me lol.
Why does nobody use ramps instead of playing with a jack & stands? So much easier, all you need is a couple planks of wood if your chin spoiler doesn't clear the ramps. Holy shit dude, never EVER tighten the new oil filter with a wrench! Oil pours much smoother when you hold the bottle sideways or with the neck at the the top, less chance to slop anything up because it won't "chug" like the way you poured it.
Pulling the dipstick or oil cap doesn't really do anything. The crankcase is already vented via the PCV system so it's not holding a vacuum of any sort. Old engines without it...yes. Also, I use a round piece of coarse grit sandpaper with a fabric back to remove and install filters. If you need a wrench to remove it...you installed it too tight. NEVER use a wrench to tighten a filter for Gods sake.
So glad the oil filter on these cars are not sideways. Makes It so much easier and you don't spill the oil when putting it back on
Gasket is stuck to the block and it's imperative that you remove it double gaskets going to be a problem it's going to leak
It might have been a good idea to leave the oil cap in the engine bay opened for faster and efficient drainage of the old oil
Definately!

I always put it right on my hood latch so I don't forget to put it back on. That way you can't close your hood with the cap in the way.

Pennzoil Ultra Plat is really good stuff
I like the finish on the catch can. Looks like it came with the car.
Racecar ramps! Well worth it if you plan on changing ur own oil.
Hopefully Ima certified SRT dodge mopar oil change guy this weekend also because I’m gonna change mine to 🤣
Pennzoil or mobil 1? Which is best for the charger?

Mopar Charger I use the exact he used on my scat because srt designed with penzoil
I always put oil in the filter to before I put it back on the engine, if I can, think it's better then starting it with a dry oil filter.
I worked at oil change shop and we never did that who told you that’s a good idea need to see if that’s the proper way to do it?
Well I've done that with my '97 Ram 1500 with a 360 V8 and so far it has 285,100 miles on it and still going strong, so it hasn't hurt it none.
small tip if u don't want to make a mess get a phillips head screwdriver and poke a hole on the bottom of the filter to drain it
you were obviously smart enough to get the zl1 pinch weld deal...curious why you didn't get the puck it slides into...fits your Pittsburgh jack perfectly...
The puck is designed to space the jack pad up out of the cupped old style floor jack. Since mine is flat I saw no purpose.
no worries bud...not knocking your process...it just adds a super nice surface area instead of that little square ...either way they work perfectly
What's the sound like raindrops in the engine bay in 22:00? Mine has the same sound every time.

There’s a great deal more of a bending moment to the frame when slamming into a pothole or speed bump. Your frame is going to be fine 😂.
