  • In this episode, I will examine William Henry Roberts' account of July 14, 1881, the shooting at Ft. Sumner. I will also compare Roberts' statements with those made by Pat Garrett and John Poe. Additionally, I will do a detailed analysis of all the events relevant to what purportedly occurred that night at the home of Pete Maxwell.

This story is the truth! Pat Garret did not kill Billy the Kid, he shot the wrong man. I’m a descendent of the Maxwells and heard the story growing up. Brushy Bill was Billy the Kid!

Thank you for recognizing my father Johnny Martinez he was so passionate about the true history regarding Billy the Kid. We lost him on Sept 28th, 2023 . He would have loved to have seen this.

  • @ryanbutz5469

If he was killed that night youd think their would be a picture of his body .

Does anyone else remember that INTERVIEW about Jesse James Cousin Ida? She discussed Her Uncle Jesse and Billy the Kid. Jesse actually rode with Billy’s father in The War between the States. Cousin Ida said that when Brushy Bill Robert’s died that her Cousin Jesse cried. Her Cousin Jesse took on several aliases. She called him “Uncle Jesse” as a show of respect. When “Brushy Bill Robert’s” wanted his Pardon and the Governor treated it like “a circus”, why would any “imposter” be so adamant about “his Pardon”. I do Hope that he got The Real Pardon and Forgiveness from our Savior, The Lord JESUS Christ.

If the kid had his pistol 6inches from you he would’ve shot end of story! He knew he was wanted and I’m sure he knew Pats voice. I refuse to believe Pat was Faster than the kid who already had his gun out cocked and ready but Pat wants ppl to believe he stood up, drew, fired, killed the kid. 😂😂 right

I suspect when the real Billy the Kid heard he was deceased he took the opportunity to relocate then change his life and identity.

The mc sween widow favored the kid to escape , believe that . Do you think she thought him a devil protecting her and her husband . No and another thing the story siringo heard first hand of how billy helped a sick old man payed his doctor bill just like the good Samaritan story in the Bible and when the old man heard billy was killed he cried . Only billy got away and I found his trail 100% he got away . Died at 90 years old with a kind wife that loved him , exactly what billy the kid deserved . Period .

A fantastic video. Thank you so much. I think whether one believes Brushy Bill was Billy The Kid or not, what is at least obvious to me is that Billy The Kid didnt die at Fort Sumner in 1881! My view is that Brushy was The Kid!

  • @jamesconroy6078

For sure there would have been a photo, most wanted man in the U.S., I believe this is the real story. Great job. Thanks.

Brushy Bill was Billy the Kid’ the facts of Mr Garrets story never added up’ the known fact that he already shot 2 other men he thought were billy was damaging enough’ no one in there right mind would let that happen a 3rd time’ he passed off Barlow as the kid and Poe and others could not argue that fact’ they never saw or met Billy’ Pat most likely thought that Billy would disappear and change his name and live under an alias far enough away to go on with his life’ the chance of that likely since Billy was not your typical cold blooded murdering type outlaw’ in fact he was the law at one point and bad corrupt politics put him on the other side of things’ may he rest in peace that he did not get in his life.

This is the best video I’ve watched on Billy. I’ve watched more than my share and yours is the best laid out and informative I’ve ever watched.

This was incredibly done. I was glued to the speaker from start to finish. But I gotta say this. Every time I hear you say "McKinney"....I keep thinking I'm hearing Cartman say Kenny 😅😅

  • @MistaKnifeguy

This is such an amazing and well researched piece, thank you for your dedication!

Good job Brett. Brushys story of these events fills in all the gaps. Very enlightening!
