- HELLO...... IN THIS QUICK EPISODE I DISCUSS A LOVELY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BRACELET I PURCHASED AT THE BURTON ANTIQUE SHOW. THIS YOUNG LADY IS BEAUTIFUL AND TELLS US A STORY LONG BEFORE THE CRAZE OF CELL PHONE SELFIES!!! THIS CAN ALSO BE SEEN IN MY DISCUSSION FOR THE SUMMIT COUNTY LAPIDARY SOCIETY. • RARE VICTORIAN JEWELRY... #victorian #jewellery #jewelry #portrait #miniature #14k #gold #painting #early #goldsmithing #bracelet #mourning #original #box #unboxing
This is gorgeous! I collect a lot of miniature photos in lockets and such, I love them and call them ‘my people’. This watercolor is so beautiful and the sitter is truly lovely!
My favorite ‘people’ are a set of three girls in a triple locket with the same green dress with white collar on! One other is a very fancy dressed man and woman and the locket says ‘Love Forever’! So many treasures! Thank you for sharing this lovely lady with us! You are a treasure Jason! I love you so because I doooi! ❤
Thank you! I love that you call them your "people", it's so fitting. I do get attached to these people...even though I don't know them...I feel like i do. 💜💜💜💜💜
I also have a small collection of personal letters and diaries from early 1900 and before! I love reading the everyday life’s of all different people! It’s so fun getting to know someone through their writings. I bet they never thought someone would be reading their writing a hundred years later! I’ve had some interesting fun reading all the stories! My favorite are love letters, I have a few sets of those and a set of a young teacher who went on her European journey in 1867, and a family from Scotland 1860 to 1890’s who started out with three girls and three boys, the girls all died of TB after going to London to be a nanny for a family, the dad too. One brother came to America to farm, one brother was a ship private back and forth and one took the mom to Edinburgh to run a bank! So many interesting lives and times. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend darling Jason! ❤️🥰
@maryhelen1011 thank you Mary!!!! I appreciate you!!!!! 🙏 i loved hearing about the letters and what they revealed! 💕💕💕
My dear Jason, what a wonderful and beautiful portrait bracelet! Having so many antique dolls of that period as well as collecting photos of ladies, I think she may be 1840’s to 1850’s. The center parted hair usually had a braided bun in back. The china head dolls I collected copied the popular fashion and hairstyles of the period. Off the shoulder dresses actually were wore in the evening. After the civil war, so many ladies were in mourning and fashions covered up and high collar dresses took over. I love learning from you and we love the same things, how I wish we lived closer and could hug each other. I just know you would love my dolls and why I only collect early period dolls. You really are a treasure beyond words!!❤❤❤❤
Beautiful comment ❤

She's beautiful 😍
Thank you so much my friend 🧡
I love the history!! So interesting! My brother, Dad, and grandfather (the PaPa with the pocket watch) were all given the same middle name which was a sur name (Dross), which was requested by someone from the Dross family who was traveling with friends/family from New York/New Jersey to Georgia to farm and try rice milling. While the Decker family stayed in Georgia, the Dross family moved on. The family oral history is that someone in that family said “if you name your child after our sur name we will send you a silver cup” My Dad has the silver cup and it will be passed down to my brother. Of course “dross” is the first off/waste during metal work (please correct me if I have it wrong). That together with the silver cup makes me think they were metalergists/metalworkers etc. I wish I had more time to dig into such things. For now I can watch your videos!!! Beautiful piece! ❤
Wow! That's amazing. Your family history is captivating.
@ ❤️
Hi Jason ❤❤❤ Sue
❤ gorgeous darling ❤ i love her 😍
I love you Joshy
@jasonadams8633 love you too buddy 🤗
What a magnificent piece! A portrait on a bracelet seems rare to me. Do you think this could have been a mourning piece?
Absolutely
She is simply amazing 🩷
Thank you
I am so excited in sharing the 2025 journey with you. I learn so much from you and have been inspired by you. Tomorrow I am taking formal silversmithing classes because of you. It is a hobby I have been wanting to pursue for some time.
AWESOME HUSKEY!!!!!! YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT!!!!!!! Be patient...... settle in with it..... its magic!!!
I have just discovered your channel and will definitely be going back to watch previous videos. I’m wondering, would the young lady in the portrait have worn this bracelet herself or would it have been made for someone else? Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great question. This would have been made for a loved one....likely a mother....
Hey Jason. Hope you're having a great day. I was just curious to know whether or not my registration was received and correct.
Jeremy will always send a confirmation email!!!
She has a kind face, doesn't she?
Yes. I get such a feeling for her. How can we be so connected.....no idea. ..
Hi there, you just popped up in my feed today. I live in Canal Fulton! Do you have a physical shop to peruse? I would love to send pics of my garnet collection and cinnabar. I looked through your eBay store and I didn’t know they were worth so much. Thanks.
I do not have a store
Hey Jason! Wondering if you might throw together some PLAYLISTS for 2025 - looking to BINGE your channel! Everyone is telling me I NEED to watch you! Without a playlist - YT skips to someone else and won't run them through 😞
I'm working on some new playlists for my channel! Thanks for the tip! I appreciate the help!!!!!
The belt on the box isn't English. The belt on a Scottish clan badge is a strap and buckle that fastens the badge to clothing & symbolizes the bonds of kinship between the clansfolk and their chief.
They used it in England too
@jasonadams8633 Probably stole it. From the Scotts. 🤭
@jasonadams8633 I did not know that though. I presumed the belt was because it is a Scottish Jewler manufacturing in England.
Is that $2654 for an oz of 24k, approximately?
Her hair looks like gold foil.
1840?
1835...1850, circa dating
Julia Ann Chauncey 8 Jan 1793 to 13 March 1874 Brooklyn NY.
For real????? No way!!!!! Thank you...... I didn't look her up.... its like I didn't wanna know.....now I do..... does it say anything else about her????
That’s remarkable research. I’m extremely fascinated and curious to know how her name was found.
@jayc5209 ditto
Jason, i dug a little deeper. I am emailing Jeremy more info regarding this comment.
@huskeyfosterfail4980 ok! Thank you so much 💓
