Great review!! Also some very useful time saving information here. I have the old GT-1B and JUST bought the GX-100. I haven’t even taken it out of the box yet, got the dongle to go with it. It went on sale as soon as these GX-10 came out. I actually like having a little bigger footprint and more buttons. I had no idea there was a Bluetooth floor pedal😅!! Oh well, I always found it annoying to have a side pedal to my GT1B. looks like I’m at about the same price point too. I will definitely be using the overtone effect you shared. Incredible how well that tracked. Must be copying the signal in some different way, that was incredible! I was using an octave down effect, but again it glitched here and there. I can just drop playing an octave and use overtone!😃 An incredibly useful effect that boss makes is their fretless effect. You can’t get it stand alone, only in these units. I use it almost every week that I play in Church. I’m also in a band where we do some pretty heavy stuff but also some slower passages. I use it there too. It’s basically just a tweaked auto-wah effect. It helps if you think like a fretless player as you’re playing. Worth checking out!
Great review! I recently got a BOSS GX-10 effects processor, but after attempting a firmware upgrade, the unit got stuck and now won't boot. I've contacted local service providers, but they couldn't fix it, and there's no warranty support here in my country. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any advice on possible fixes or recovery methods would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
I previously reviewed the ME-90B as well (on this same channel). Check them both out and see what you think! For me, the GX-10 is more aligned with my tastes.
FYI, the Xsonic Airstep is a better alternative to the Boss wireless. It had 5 switches with 3 SEPARATE functions per switch. 15 functions!! Done via short press, long press, press and hold. Expansion jacks, midi, usb, Bluetooth.
I had a gx100. I think it is not so good to choose. The first thing you need to remind it is sound itself. And in a mix it sounds horrible and shy. The next thing - there is no “pitch”, I don’t mean you don’t have such block, ofcourse it is there, but it useless, because of the delay( it is really much more than on helix or china pedals). In other words you will use Drive, Amp, and some delay/rev only, and other toy stuff you will not use mostly.
I posted about this on FB and on Talkbass the week before they announced this haha. I was disappointed but I have the GX100 and am truly set for a long time
@@EvanKenobi that's where the waza foot switch would come in. Make it detachable and wireless so you can place it anywhere you want or have the single unit
Mate , I love your fuckin work
You are an inspiration
Thanks
Another great demo Sean! I am VERY curious about this one! Thank you and happy holidays! Brent, VT

I'm so glad you got so much value from it! Yeah, Overtone is a stand out for sure. Thanks for adding all that info!

I have been looking at the me90b, would you say this is a better option for the price or just different in its purpose

@ Hi Sean, yes i rewatched that today and still cant decide!!!
thank you so much for the in-depth review. 🙏🙏 Very interested in the octaves, the tracking is incredible !

Would have bought this immediately if it had a DI or balanced out...
That seems like a really weird omission.
Do you feel like is powerful enough to record an album?
Absolutely.
bass guitar brand?
MTD (Michael Tobias Design)
Blue tooff dongler not included

Make one without the Volume/Expression pedal and put there one more switch . because most of the bass players do not use the Expression pedal

Speak for yourself. I like using expression pedal as I can change more parameters at once than with a single footswitch.

No balanced out.. that's a deal breaker for me.. bummer
