Everything from the 1970 self titled to Rock Of The Westies is gold for me, although I do think nearly every album after is good for a few songs, even the infamous Victim Of Love.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is legendary, my mom is a huge Elton fan and we always had that CD blasting in the car when I was a kid. Still one of my fave albums to this day.
I cannot imagine the work ethic of Elton and Bernie, writing/recording out like 8-9 stellar albums in ~5 years. And while touring, no less. Tumbleweed is my favorite, even though there aren't any hit singles on it or anything. I saw Elton on tour last time he was in Philly and was so happy when he played Burn Down the Mission. (He did a ton of fan favorites which was just so *slurp/lipsmack* nice.)
We need one for They Might Be Giants!
The flush of dopamine that I received when I saw this in my recommended is indescribable
I was going to suggest you do Elton John next... man, I had no idea how many albums he had. Great video btw
New favorite UA-cam video right here
I’m seeing Elton John this year :D
I managed to see him live before the pandemic closed the world down in March 2020 so I’ve been lucky. He’s still great live.
the fact this was uploaded yesterday is fvcking noice
Dude this channel is a gold mine. This was recommended and I've gone through a few vids and fuck me this shit is amazing.
Hopefully you’ll get around to Midnight Oil one day, your videos with Michael Rosen are great!
Yeah I can do Midnight Oil in future. They’re a good band.
Elton John is one of my all time favorite artists, his music is great, and I saw him live on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, and it was my only time seeing him live, but at least there are other artists that I will see live multiple times. And even though Elton is retiring from touring, let’s remember the great career he has had, because the music will be a legacy.
I saw him live on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour too when he toured Australia in Early 2020 before the pandemic shut the world down, so I got pretty lucky.
@@ElliYeetYT You sure did get lucky, I am glad you got to see him! Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity for some artists.
@@ElliYeetYT I saw him less than a month ago.
What have i learned from this ?
Elton John is incredibly prolific for better or worse.
After the initial Goldmine was picked clean (70-75), the fans had to dig through alot of stone to find the occasional diamond buried further under the mountain (78, 83, 95, 01, 04).
I still cannot comprehend why people hate Victim of Love so much like, it's not great, but it's also not complete trash like Leather Jackets or Sleeping With the Past
There are very bizarre moments on that album I’m not a fan of, like that disco cover of “Johnny B Goode.”
I think Elton is aware that people didn’t like the album because he’s very rarely played songs from that album live.
Elton John studio albums I own:
Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
As well as "Greatest Hits 1970-2002" for all other hit songs.
Yes! My favorite album got the triple nice!
UPDATE: My favorite album now is Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is it's own thing now. I worship it like a god.
Victim Of Love hahahaha
The Melvins!
Suggestion: can you do Ice Cube albums described by Michael Rosen?
God thank you for this
Hot take: "Sleeping With the Past" is underrated. "The One" is even more so
I can agree those are pretty good albums, I give both of those an 8/10.
Don't Shoot Me is mad underrated
Certainly. It’s way more than just the album with “Crocodile Rock.”
Pretty good and original
I think Elton is too harsh on "Leather Jackets".
Yes, he was coked out of his mind while recording it, and his voice was quite worn out, but even in that situation he still managed to churn out some decent songs, like "Hoop Of Fire", "Slow Rivers", "Billy And The Kids", "Lord Of The Flies".
But "Victim Of Love"... yes, it's his absolute nadir.
Not gonna lie victim of love is my favorite album.
I love you
Tempted to see what you would do with the band Madness.
Request: Tonight Tonight Tonight by Genesis but every other beat is missing
Request: The Reflex by Duran Duran but every other beat is missing

Reg Strikes Back is alright
Yeah, Michael says the same thing. He calls it square, it’s fine.

Sum 41 is a pretty good idea 👍
