Totally agreed with you on the toxicity of fans re: Silverstone. While I’m not a Hamilton fan, he absolutely did not deserve the abuse. I think it came off the Euro as well, and I just cannot understand why some people claiming to be fans feel the need to abuse them.
Charles has had the most unlucky season and I believe if he wasn't unlucky he would definitely have a lot more points than Sainz and be higher up in the standings and be top 3 drivers of the season
It seems like he is less mature than Max and currently I wouldn’t give him a title. He needs to calm down but I think Carlos can make him operate smoother so he can actually win his home race.
@@BauhauF lol look at Max’s maturity a few years ago after him being in the sport for just a few years like Charles has , Charles definitely isn’t lacking as much maturity as the old max , and then look how mature and calm max is now in a title fight , realistically IMO you cant say someone isn’t mature enough for a title until you see them fight FOR a title .
@@BauhauF really? I definitely see charles as way more mature than Max. Charles has been mature since f2, his leadership skills are crazy for his age. And everyone had their doubts about Nando! I was excited when they announced him coming back last year. I knew he would be a changed man, ready to help instead of be helped. He wants to be a champion but also wants to help his team.
I think it's the other way around actually. Carlos is the more consistent of the two- always delivering good performance, good points. But in terms of raw pace, Charles appears to be ahead of his teammate. Overall a great pairing, balances well, complements each other.
I absolutely hate the fact that Max was so far ahead just a few races ago and now the standing is like it is. I mean he's in arguably the worst car on the grid this year, battling with the Alfa Romeo for 8th best, and stuck it in Q3 so many times. In a car that doesn't deserve it. He told Williams to prioritise Latifi for what was potentially his first points for the team, and he's just been genuinely a great guy. We expected Charles and Sainz to perform this year. They had a Ferrari. We didn't expect Russell and the Williams to do so.
@@begonethot4869 still I don't take anything away from Russell he's done an amazing job but still sainz new team and has had an amazing start of the season and Leclerc you don't need to say anything because he's had a really good start to the season too and also has been a bit unlucky in Hungary and Monaco.
The British media have been a good source of comedy with their extreme bias these year. He's had 4 good races and they are putting him on a pedestal. The guy is a great talent but they have to stop giving him all the attention in the world.
Really nice job with this one. Interesting categories and nice job explaining your reasoning on your choices. While I may not agree with all of them, you backed your choices well. I love how you said sorry dutchies for putting max in p2, while i'm watching in a rbr shirt i fully agree that lando has been the best driver this season.
IMO worst moment of the season was VB at monaco, it was such ashame to see him lose the race from p2 from no fault of his own. It broke my heart
That was big sadge for sure
Toto still found a way to blame him. That's his primary job at Merc: Find a way to blame Bottas.
@@quigglyz that was pretty harsh by Toto, especially since the other 3 wheels managed to get changed
Fernando Alonso's defensive moves against Lewis Hamilton really gave me 2005 San Marino GP vibes. I'm a HUGE Fernando Alonso fan and it just was like we travelled in time!
Literally spitting image of it!
I thinkthe Hungary defense was more amazing, given the inferior machinery he had
I really appreciate u looking at gasly, been my fav since he sat in ex toro rosso, so underrated, made me happy 👌
Totally agreed with you on the toxicity of fans re: Silverstone. While I’m not a Hamilton fan, he absolutely did not deserve the abuse. I think it came off the Euro as well, and I just cannot understand why some people claiming to be fans feel the need to abuse them.
Its called rascism mate. The patterns are always there.
Love to see both Norris and leclerc to get a win this season would be amazing
Charles has had the most unlucky season and I believe if he wasn't unlucky he would definitely have a lot more points than Sainz and be higher up in the standings and be top 3 drivers of the season
Charles does push 115% constantly tbh, very similar to Gilles Villeneuve.
It seems like he is less mature than Max and currently I wouldn’t give him a title. He needs to calm down but I think Carlos can make him operate smoother so he can actually win his home race.
@@BauhauF That would make sense considering Charles has half of Max's experience yes.
Max has had an immaturity problem for his whole career up until this season where he really got it together. The fact that max makes fewer errors than charles is all down to experience, not maturity
#blessed tbf I think Charles is a much more mature and nicer character than max he just has less experience
Alonso’s defense against Hamilton was some of the best driving I’ve ever seen, regardless of series. What an absolute gem of a race
Watching this after Monza 2021. What a turn around for Danny Ric!! I knew he would get to grips it was just a matter of time
It was amazing to see Alonso defending like that again. Got flashbacks to his and Lewis’ McLaren days
I think most dutchies can live with the papaya on #1, Tommo 😄 Great recap of the season so far and fair analysis in my opinion!
Dankjewel Marit!

Why must you hurt me this way.
Me seeing a new Tommo video, 35+ minutes?
“GET IN THERE LEWIS”
Tommo rapping faster then Eminem 😅
That was actually impressive
Really liked the 5 min summary of the season! Still gives me goose bumps even though I watched it al 🤩
great video tommo we needed this also could you rank the races this season so far.
Cheers pal!
This is the type of F1 content that we need!! Thank you Tommo!!!
Last time I was this early george was still ahead of latifi in the championship
Last Saturday then?
@@Lastname6955 yup
Great video, nice to have a long one every so often. Hilariously was able to predict where you put nearly every driver in your top 20
Best moment of the year was Baku podium. Checo Seb and Pierre!
I absolutely hate the fact that Max was so far ahead just a few races ago and now the standing is like it is. But it is what it is, let's see what Red Bull can pull out of the hat in the next half of the season. Max does not seem bothered mentally. I respect Hamilton so much, the "luck" he has does not happen for others, why not? Because others don't have the talent to position themselfs in the position to have the "luck". He forces the luck in a good way. Weither I like it as a Max fan or not. He is MEGA, def top3 ever.
So true what you are saying
Why's nobody talking about how unlucky Charles has been at this first half of the season? He's got 80 points with two DNFs
And lando has 103 with one soo… Been better
@@jlallballpodcast8624 Leclerc has been superior
Nice video man. Thanks for doing what people asked. Although I have a feeling that you put George and Lando so high because they’re British. I mean they’re extremely impressive but I didn’t think there’s any doubt that Max was the best on the grid.
im literally the happiest with sebs season so far closely followed my lando
Seb his season isn't that impressive to be honest, yes he got strong finishes in monaco and Azerbaijan, but other that he has been outperformed by stroll pretty consistently
@@davy_657 We are still counting Hungary as well. Seb drove the wheels off that car, so his DSQ for a team error should not take away from his performance.
For me Carlos, Seb and Charles are the guys whos backs I have.
Right bellow I’m putting Pierre, than Esteban.
Only supporting Max so he beats LewLew.
@@President-JonSnow.Malkowich i mean in Hungary he ofc did not a bad job, but i wouldn't say he did a great one aswell... i mean he was very lucky and earned all the places in the start and he couldn't overtake a slower ocon in front of him, i know it is hard to overtake in Hungary tho, but thats also the reason why seb finished in p2 cuz no one could overtake him cuz it was Hungary, so yeh im sorry but just not that impressive to me
@@President-JonSnow.Malkowich my favorites are pierre lando checo and alonso
And i do be supporting max only for the same reason as you
Its just i dont see why everyone rate vettel that high i just dont see it...
I love Yuki too and have high expectations. I'd say but I feel like aside from his radio and qauli crashes he's been performing well.
I definitely didn't expect him to be getting points every weekend. But to get up there a handful of times which he still has plenty of time to do. 🤷🏽♂️
Thank you tommo for calling out the disgusting “fans” on both sides that became so toxic after that incident.
Really enjoyed this video! Been enjoying your vids very much this year
Props to Ocon, Ricciardo, and Perez for smiling for their picture
Great video and no problem with the length!
gasly has been in incredible form, even improving from last season. and he is boding tsunoda. I get the hype around Lando, he has way more car and therefore the highs are higher. but, given where the celling is for both of them, (Lando and gasly) I see gasly as the better driver.
Another great video, very good rankings as well, hopefully Danny Ric will be higher by the end of the season
too early for the mystery youtuber shoutout.
Damn it
I was too late
Very pragmatic analysis of the field in the current 2021 year!
Lando had a bad weekend in Spain, while max hasn't been off the pace once. That's why he should be P1
Love your work, entertaining and informative. Looking forward to as always to more content.
Imola was my personal favourite race
Absolutely love this longer form stuff Tommo, top notch as always
I think Fernando has been good but not p4 worthy, maybe put sainz and leclerc a little higher and swap gio and mick but overall I agree and after all it’s your opinion. Great vid
But fernando was out of the sport for 2 years...and even with a race win, ocon is just 1 point ahead.
Tommo!
Great channel. Just joined officially. Hello everyone. Good to be here (waves, smiles to everyone).
Ok though... I just *had* to weigh in on this one. ;-)
Top 3, man... ahh... sigh... sorry... ya got that one wrong.
The top 3 best moments... in order...
1. Alonso defense of Hamilton at Hungary
2. Alonso defense of Hamilton at Hungary
3. Alonso defense of Hamilton at Hungary
Uff! Best w2w racing corner after corner, lap after lap that I've seen in 15 years. THIS is why I watch F1.
With you on top worst. 100 on top surprises... maybe 101... ;-)
Best season since 2012 so far. A close title fight , some amazing surprises and simply epic races apart from monoco and of course the toxicity from both verstappens and hamiltons fans.
So long as you include Helmut Marko as a "fan", yep I agree :)
This is great content. I’m a new F1 fan and u give a lot of explanatory information
5:39 Tommo likes Hungary, Silverstone and Baku.
Tommo hates Max, confirmed?!?!
My favorite term this year is Spinoda, I love him and his attitude but the makeover from Spinalla to this is brilliant.
Russell ahead of Sainz and Charles are you kidding me 🤣
it's insane I know 😂
I mean he's in arguably the worst car on the grid this year, battling with the Alfa Romeo for 8th best, and stuck it in Q3 so many times.
Sure they have been extremely impressive performances but somehow they conveniently miss out on how he could have scored points in the second race or how he cannot get his car off the line and always loses places off the start. The guy is a great talent but they have to stop giving him all the attention in the world.
@@begonethot4869 Williams is definitely not the worst car on the grid. They are comfortably better than Haas and are closer to performance with Alfa.
First time watching your channel, its a good one ❤️. Thanks youtube algorithm
Yuki being so low is very harsh, yes he has made a lot of mistakes, maybe too many but I think his racecraft has improved majorly this season
Tommo joining the ALO crew eventually! 🌟✨👍 welcome bud!
+ Fair ranking!

Really nice job with this one. Interesting categories and nice job explaining your reasoning on your choices. While I may not agree with all of them, you backed your choices well. The only thing that you didn’t mention is that some drivers are pretty consistently worse at qualifying than race, and have been for years (forever?) namely Sergio and Kimi. So that’s not really worse, but still is a strike against them. Anyway. Lots of interesting info here!
Great content as usual! Love it.. minus the P5 Lewis part... noway he isnt top 3... ahead of Gas & Alo
Yeah he nailed every one except that one imo
for me hes tied with Gasly ngl
Tommos content is great tho
Alonso has been impressive, but he hasn't been beating Ocon like Ricciardo did. Gasly has been very good, but people are underestimating how brilliant that AlphaTauri is. Lewis, meanwhile, is leading the championship in a significantly slower car -- P5 is a joke.
Great points Elliot! Alonso is amazing... but his first 4 or 5 races wasnt up to speed yet. But still impressive... just not 8x impressive 😏
NEW VIDEO IDEA: Compare teams historically, eg: Redbull vs Jordan , Merc vs Braun, Dominating years and championship battles they been, their performance then vs now.
I was literally wondering just now, "I wonder when tommo's mid season video is coming" 😂
HERE WE ARE TOBES
This is a really well structured video @Tommo
Leclerc so unlucky this season he really could be 3rd in the driver standings but now he's behind his teammate
He did make some of his own bad luck, to be fair
@@barbonson_richards That's only true with Monaco but even then Ferrari said everything was fine with his car
@@James_utd123 Don't forget Styria. That was 100% his fault.
Pierre and Max would like to have a word with you...
I think Max has had even more bad luck than Charles
This might be my favourite video of yours yet, keep up the great work! :)
top3 worst moments for sure you have to include charles not being able to go on and race in monaco after getting Pole
That was definitely up there for sure. Big sadge
Really thoughtful vid. Enjoyed it a lot. Easy Thumbs Up.
Checo has proven he really deserves that Red Bull seat
Very true, I just wish he was doing a bit better
yea but has also proven that he is far from championship worthy as some of us fans have claimed
I expected more from him but he's done fine I guess, hopefully he can improve on the second part of the season
@@ronan1686 i mean he had 2 bad races since Monaco so i really think he's not done that bad.
He's doing a better job than Pierre & Alex for sure.
BUT, I could see Gasly snatching it next year. Wouldn't surprise me ngl
Carlos and Lando sharing a podium had to be a top 3 moment
I know I’m probably biased, but if Mercedes keeps getting away with crashing into max I’m scared max and Red Bull will not win either championships. Already a possible 50 points loss. And max has been unlucky this season. I feel like with equal luck and fair punishments Max would have been leading the championship with a healthy lead right now.
yeah you are biased actually
@@bigbrain2178 I’m not lying thin
I still believe they didn't crash to other intentionally, but merc pressure is high this season. These 2-3 years merc can win easily. But this season rb and mclaren evem ferrari can snatch a win or ruin their strategy on a race bcs that they keep make mistake
@@Bibi-ji2dz ofcourse, I never said it was intentional. But I mean it did happen 2 happens in a row. And both times, it ruined Red Bull’s races and merc scored big points
