I got accepted to both UC Berkeley and UCLA and I'm currently trying to decide the two. Trust me when I tell you I've been eating up these videos UPS. I dreamt of being at Berkeley since I began community college, and when I found out I got accepted I've been experiencing this imposter syndrome and now fear is holding me back from going to the school I dreamt about. However, your video just brought me strength and for the first time I now truly believe that I belong there because I've been working HARD for it. Thank you! Also, I totally understand, I felt the exact same before I came here and you know, i'm not gonna lie I have very little support from my parents, and even sometimes today things can get a little overwhelming for me, but if it wasn't for my experiences at Cal, I wouldn't have the backbone to survive in the real world. I think that's the biggest difference from those who have a negative experience about Cal, because sure things weren't the easiest at times, however I didn't really have a choice to be sad about certain situation because I didn't have a home to visit or go back too, and I had to truly train my mind and thoughts to see every obstacle as an opportunity, and I promise life becomes a lot less intimidating that way. Sorry for the super long response lol.

I graduated Berkeley almost 20 years ago with a B.A. in Cognitive Science. The dotcom crash happened and it was very tough to get a job. I struggled throughout my 20s financially because I could not really establish a career. However, I was not as socially astute as you are so I do not think you will have as hard a time as I did in those years. But I feel that we need to prepare young people for the dark reality that can sometimes happen after college. The best thing I did in those college years was work 35 hrs/wk and finish college with several grand in surplus money instead of being in debt.
I also want to apply to California community college, but I had in high school 77% (C+) so I am afraid if they're rejected me because my bad grades in high school):
I am also a transfer student at Cal and I agree that having a social life as a transfer IS SO DIFFICULT. However, I have learned that this gives you the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, your passions and figure out who you really are.
