Really good to see what's in store for those tackling this epic route. Fortunately it won't be as hot this year! Great video.

You're always a hell of an inspiration to me, Stephen. I could only run a fraction of the ground you covered but I would love to traverse that beautiful countryside. The peaceful morning in the village must have been quite the experience too. Here's to many, many more miles!

    Thanks for another great video!
I love your channel - I'm running The Wall Ultra this weekend (69 miles) which I enjoyed last year too! I'd LOVE for you to come up and film The Wall - it needs a truly great video from yourself! (Carlisle Castle to Newcastle via Hadrian's Wall country)?!
I think you've sold me on the SDW100 tho - may have to try this beast out next year!

Yea, loving the Fusion, but I messed up the image quality on this one. Missed a setting before stitching. I'll get it right next time.

    Morning FMR
Any tips for running your first 100 miler? A video would be great to hear how you transitioned from marathons and maybe 50milers to the big one?
I've done The Wall (69 miles) twice now and I'm just wondering if I could survive another 31 miles?!
A video on how to train not just physically but mentally would be appreciated by the many followers, I think?! I loved The Wall this year and didn't have any real problems - but last year I struggled with fatigue etc.
Advice for night running when physically drained and want to sleep? Advice for keeping going in various weather's? Love your channel 👍🏻

I think if you have done 69 miles then 100 is the natural next step up. It is a learning curve that only you can experience. The main thing to master is nutrition. I can't help other than tell you that people who rely on burning fat and eating savoury real foods, rather than eating sugary foods, tend to suffer fewer gastric issues. Pacing is important. You won't manage a negative split but you need to try and get as close as you can, which means going off a lot slower than you think. It's important not to panic about this. People think you need to bank miles/time. But more often than not that is a false economy. I've never had a problem staying awake on a 100. The adrenaline should carry you through. Keeping warm or cool and dry is vital. Just monitor the weather in the days up to the run and be prepared. Put things on in advance rather than waiting until you are soaked or freezing. 100 miles demands your concentration for the entire run and it's much more about your mental strength than physical. Good luck!!

Wow! Thanks a lot for all that!
Lots to think about - that's great!
During my Ultra I definitely favoured the real savoury food over gels etc so that makes sense!

@@FilmMyRun Lol. I wish! I’m in my 70s and my running days are over (my furthest was only 40k)….but I watch these videos because they inspire me to walk 8-10km a day up a Spanish mountain. Do it while you can 👍🍷
