I always appreciate your honesty. I still deal with a lot of fear while lead climbing. I've top roped sections of climbs before and felt so self conscious about it. It's so wonderful to see you do that and go from being super uncomfortable and turning it into a really enjoyable climb.
I think it’s a perfectly valid way to problem solve being scared! Definitely don’t feel self conscious doing it, it’s common practice especially with higher end scary climbs. Lots of (maybe all of??) the world class trad lines at the next level are top roped first.
Production value: 10/10. Likeability of climber: 10/10! Climb & route: 10/10. Doesn't get any better!

Your facial expressions were awesome to see throughout the climb. The perfect combination of having an awesome time and being totally focused/relaxed (even if maybe for a few moments you didn't feel that way). Shout out to the filmer for capturing that. People get caught up in the style of how they climb things, but at the end of the day enjoying your climb that's what it's about! Maybe for some people enjoying their climb involves risking an absolutely insane fall from time to time - that's makes those routes a special/unique experience

I so appreciate the talking about fear with lead climbing and it being okay to project a lot on top rope I feel like I always like with people that have no fear and just send it so it's nice to hear that other people work around fear and some ways to handle it. Love this video!!❤

Literally the first time ever I've seen a chalk ad and didn't just think 'guys it's just more or less crushed up magnesium carbonate, they're all the litteral same thing". So yeah rugne should be paying you extra for that!

I love that you chose topics 2 and 4 ❤ They are the most interesting to me as a climber that struggles with the same stuff. I'll scope out the moves and feel it's not possible, then I commit and pull on them. It suddenly feels soo much easier than I imagined. There's definitely a disparity between my actual and perceived ability. I still get caught up in doubt that I can't hold on to clip the next draw. LOVE IT!
Also, that's a fantastic Rúngne spiel that is beyond any I've seen on UA-cam. I watched the whole thing.

Mental game has been my biggest challenge in climbing too, and seeing you thrive through these challenges is really inspiring :)
I don’t think I’ll ever put the work in to climb at such a high level, but my goal is to be able to strike that balance you found between a challenge (in any capacity whether technical or mental) that you can work on until you can really enjoy it and flow through.

This was a really fantastic message hear, I primarily climb headpoint-style trad and have been dealing with an immense amount of fear surrounding a project to the point that I felt like I lost sight of the experience I want to have with this route throughout the projecting process. Hey Anna, really excited about the video, just as I was for the Thailand series!
I started climbing a few months ago, mostly with the mindset that I'd only ever do indoor stuff, but your channel (Thailand series and some of the older WideBoyz trad stuff got me started!) has really turned that around for me and I find myself looking up local outdoor climbing spots more and more often. You're doing a great thing for climbing here, keep it up!!

Always love your videos! They make me feel a lot better about my own climbing because sometimes I get scared too and sometimes I use a stick clip the first (or even second!) time I go up a route so that I can work some of the moves without the fear factor. And when I watch your videos I am like "if it is ok for her to get scared and use a stick clip, then it's ok for me too!" :)

i too really really struggle with the fear of lead climbing to the point were whenever i lead i hold my breath and get very light headed and also tend to over grip and feel shaky. but at the same time i love to lead and it’s so nice to know im not the only one who’s deathly afraid of it but also love it at the same time. your just so inspirational and as a young team kid i strive to be like you when im older. your videos aren’t just inspiring but there also so freaking well put together and such a joy to watch. I love what you do so much and honestly think you and your work are the coolest things ever! ❤
