definitely have to suggest playing the rest of the campaigns on this, napoleon was great, i hope we get another Total War in the time period
I’d love a empire-napoleon mashup. 1700-1880’s. I still love Empire (with or without Darthmod) despite its reputation.
We need a remaster of empire or Napoleon. Need to focus on redoing the AI though. Napoleon has horrendously bad AI.

I just played the campaign for the declaration in Empire 30 minutes ago and the first battle of Werowocomoco(sorry I think I got that name wrong) and the enemy AI just keep running away from me which was fucking frustrating as fuck.... No sense of making any line formation I just got pissed and just sellect all my units and double clicked on enemy infantry...

I can’t believe you’ve won that naval battle. The whole time I was shaking my head, and you’ve done it. Very well done.
For naval engagement it is best to disable their sails with chainshoots, especially with fast ships that can get infront of the enemy. Afterwards they can no longer move around and is quit easy to capture. 5th rate are great for disablelin sails and leaving the enemy as sitting ducks in the water.
I used tons of carronade frigates with Prussians on world domination,not perfect but they're fun and cost-effective
@V R Still good enough if you use the faster ships to get in front of the enemy and disable them.
At this point in the war Spain and France were allies. Spain didn't trust Napoleon so they didn't help out much and that's why he finally invaded and took over the country
Leave it to Nelson to charge headlong through the Spanish line
Blockade the French ports ASAP. Once that's done, the campaign is won

Remember the ships have different cannon ammo, shredd their sails and peppered the sailers/marines than *BOARDING!!!!* . I LOVED that shit! :D not sure if they are much of a advise? But thats how i roll on the seas.

I'm glad you went with Portugal first with a trade agreement. A lot of people disregard Portugal but that's such a huge Alliance for England that's the reason why Spain has big decline

Sea battle: first off you should have set up as far to the right as permitted to “seize the weather gage” as soon as possible.
ireland will riot without troops, especially ones with a policing bonus.

That naval battle is amazing, a lot of fun watching it.
When playing UK i have this strategy:
1. Build merchantmen to occupy trade posts and warships to blockade french ports
2. Get trade agreements and allies
3. Focus on military, industry and enlightenment
4. Create a fullstack army, send it to northern europe to take out french allies one by one
5. Send a small army of sharpshooters, marines, artilleri (preferably heavy canons with long range)and a reg or two of missile cavalry - of to southern italy. Let the italian armies come to me and fight them in a defensive position, meaning shooting them down before they reach my ranks.
6. At some point italy is liberated and that army will join up with several fullstack armies created over time to deliver the final blow to france

I went the same route with the national debt it just makes sense to get your technology up get the better college and start making that good money
My advice?
Sit on your hands and build a ginormous trading fleet occupying every trading slot in the Atlantic, start by moving one vessel to each slot and that way no allies can claim them without declaring war on you.
Sit back and watch the pennies roll in, research military stuff, build arsenals and advanced barracks as they become available and when you're as rich as Croesus buy 3 or 4 top end armies and Blitz the damned Froggies!
You'll only need one naval dockyard and use this to build an untouchable fleet of first rate vessels with your filthy lucre, convert all others to trading ports.
Knack the Froggy navy as soon as you can then send frigates to each port and naval dockyard, periodically put them in the enemy bases which serves to destroy them.
That’s exactly how I played GB. Such a fun game.

btw...............the reason the british had such a small army was because we had the best navy and could put that army anywhere they pleased. The other nations couldnt do this so need much larger forces to protect their dependencies.

Don’t you realize that every time you “turn around” a ship or mask the enemy ships w/ one of your ships you are effectively reducing your firepower?
Keep your ships in formation and firing.
Missed a opportunity to reference my churchill when you hit the ship in the rear :D
By having all boats in line tactics you lose valuable speed of much faster boats. You have to makes lines according to the speed of the ships among such line to be specially effective.

Which do you prefer, Napoleon or Empire? I haven't really played since I had Rome back in 2005/06
space bar makes units in campaign mode move faster.
Napoleon in this intro lost in Egypt and in Russia.

I celebrated the end of 1806 by assassinating Napoleon... With a 41% chance.
I'd already taken Paris, and "killed" Napoleon with a swarm of infantry... But he seemed to recover and retreat to Bourdeaux.
It's pretty easy to push Paris very quickly, if you have enough men.

First of all Great content mate! But that naval battle was so cringe... lol... I know this was recorded a Long time ago. And you proberly know by know. But that repair button was screaming at you all the time.. you could have saved all your ships in that naval battle
I was playing this game in 2011 and I start with Russia 🇷🇺 one of the best country to start no other counties are surrounded..
