- Hello and welcome everyone, to a brand new series with Napoleon Total War. We are of course, playing as the British this time around, everyone's favourite go-to pick I'm sure. We set out our campaign with designs on Spain, eliminating Napoleon's major ally and freeing up a lot of economy options for us in the late game.

A tip is to capture enemy ships either way. You can scupper them to repair your damaged ones if you don't want to keep em. Saves repair costs afaik
Capturing ships during battles always seems time consuming to me but i guess if you're good enough you can. I usually have more than enough money as Britain to afford repairs and i'm generally only a turn or 2 at most from a port.
Edifield I would Suggest that you make an investment to get Acoustic Foam Panels for your Recording Space adding the panels would Greatly Cut down on the Echo in your recording Space and take you alright mic to top tier
Hahaha i've had the same problem for a long time due to local construction methods i have bad echoing, unfortunately i can't put up foam panels as it's also my bedroom. I also have lot's of noisy wild animals in my neighborhood, nothing like hearing roosters crowing whilst recording Total War 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really like the naval battles in this game. The land battles are also really cool but it is a lot more micro than the naval combat. Overall though both forms of combat are cool I just prefer the naval battles in my opinion.
The naval battles are a true spectacle. Especially when you get a detonation like we did today.

Blowing up enemy ships is the only reason i try NTW naval battles. I'm terrible in ETW Naval but fairly good in Shogun 2, Rome 2/Attila naval still seems unbalanced.
Its immensely satisfying to see the masts collapse and the detonations pop off. Napoleon naval is the certainly the most visually pleasing for naval but its a real faff to micro. The Shogun 2 naval, like the rest of the game, is just robust and rewarding to get right.
@@theedifiedgamer8350 Oh yeah micromanaging is a pain .
I have my battle timer for 20 mins but if you don't have the wind with you in ETW you can run the timer down and not even get a result.
Having Steam ships does help.
I guess Attila was the last time we had naval battle in Total War ?
@@IceniTotalWar Yeah the Empire naval battles are in a strange position where the maps are large and the ships travel at a believeable speed, but that really works against you if the timer is on. Its such a simple fix to just allow closer deployment as well.
You're right, Atilla was fhe last game with naval battles. I hardly play Atilla, despite having fond memories of it, but I generally avoid the naval on there.

Hello there. The difficulty is medium/medium. After playing hard for the Austrian campaign, I thought it would be nice to return to a fun, more relaxed game.
@@theedifiedgamer8350 That's a good idea. No need to strain oneself. I will enjoy watching your armies march over the Pyrenees to engage the ancient enemy.
Would also Suggest you check out Darth Mod for Napoleon
This is with the Darth Mod. Its the default way to play if you ask me.

@@theedifiedgamer8350 honest answer? We both know that it wont;) Because im not that good. Its fine though. My personal fav is shogun 2 because its simple but not easy. Ill play this game on easy mode, probably as the UK and this game is one of the few ones that i dont spacebar/accelarate (?) The movement because of the music and all that. Im fine at sucking and enjoying:)

@@DKon3 Britain has to be the easiest if you ask me. Prussia can be a safe one if you take a slow approach and pick on the minor factions around you.
@@theedifiedgamer8350 im Dutch myself so im a tiny bit dissapointed that they are not a faction. I believe they are in Empire no?
