You my friend are a legend. After 3 hours of tracing wires and replacing fuses. I just bridge those 2 postive connectors and away she went again. Thank you very much!

Great video. Thank you. I guess my pressure switch is ok as the pump comes on when I open a faucet. However with all faucets closed and power to the pump the pump cycles on for a few seconds then off. Repeats every 2-3 minutes. No visible leaks anywhere. Check valve? If so do you have a great repair video for that before I replace the pump?
If you have checked all of your pipes and faucets then you are correct about the pump check valve. Luckily I have not had to rebuild my pump yet so I don’t have a video.

What else can I use to test the current? I have some wire cutters with rubber handles and used those and nothing happened. They are kind of rusty though. Cannot find our needle nose though. Great video. We have this exact pump in the casita we just bought and I'm troubleshooting no power. Thank you!
If you short across the two terminals and nothing happened the next step is to check and see if you are receiving 12 volts. You will need a volt meter for this. If you DO NOT have 12 volts check the fuse on your 12v distribution panel. If you DO have 12 volts at these terminals the actual pump is bad. @@CasitaRvLife It was the switch! Figured it out and broke it open, re-bent the little metal thingy that flips back and forth and now it works great. Weird. Glad I didn't buy a new pump! Thanks for the info!!
Great video. However What exactly did you touch to jump the pump? Your hand was in the way was unable to see it.
Under the black cap on the bottom there are two terminals. Temporarily jump across the two terminals with a piece of wire.
So you connect the terminals that unplug front the actual pump correct. Not the screws but the terminals?
He shorted the 2 red wires together using the pliers. One cable has 12v going into the switch and the other cable is the 12v outgoing from it. By joining the wires together you are basically bypassing the pressure switch.
The switch kit is about half the cost of a whole new pump. Do the pumps themselves have a long service life?
From the research I have done, it appears the switch is the common failure point. The pump seems to last a lot longer than the switch. My pump is still going strong.
How old was the pump when it went out??
The trailer is about three years old but has about 90,000 miles. We do a lot of camping.

My new water pump surges. How can I fix it?

@@jerseygirle Oh! That’s a small leak somewhere or a leaking check valve perhaps.
My water pump is still surging. When the switch is off it stays off. Switch on and or run some water, hot and or cold it pulses, I call it surging or Quicks on and offs. To jerseygirle yours might be a small leak someplace. Mine stays off with the switch on, but I normally don’t even leave the switch on often.
