I crochet blankets and the green one would be called a lapghan. It's for people that sit and wish to keep their legs warm such as the elderly in senior homes or a person that is wheelchair bound. It was a pretty design and cost around $30.00-$50.00 in yarn. I hope this helps you. A complete afghan cost upwards of $100.00 in yarn. Crocheting is an expensive hobby!
Love the pricing comment. I have been to some estate sales where I could not find one thing to buy. Definitely a waste of time. Now when I recognize unrealistic companies, I pass on them.
Oh yes string holders, I remember the time when you put strings around your package to ship them. I recently tried this but the post office said I have to remove the strings because they can get stuck in the sorting machines.
Hey! You should never go out in a small car! Even when I go to yard sales, if I find something I need or like and I can’t bring home with me because I’m in the wrong car..I get very upset. 😂
This was great tagging along with you on this trip. Lots of cool stuff to look at too. Like that Ford and the color. I have a cousin that has an old bucket ford that you don't want to be in while it is raining, it fills up. lol He rebuilt it himself and still runs after all these years. Have a great day and safe travels.
A Gizmo!! My new dog's name! It would make a good toy for him only it's almost bigger than he is! I have my mom's blue violin bottle. My dad won it for her throwing baseballs at a carnival. Even though he was a good baseball player, the violin bottle cost him way more than ten bucks - and that was in the 50s. Never trust a Carny.
If you take business classes there's an old adage if something keeps coming up you should change it "I have a small vehicle" which translates I can't make that money😮
Temp-ta-tion was good for a hot minute, but if I'm going to buy anything similar, it has to be better than that stuff. It's everywhere now and the flood is on! LOL
Good evening, George! Those glass corn cob baking dishes come clean with a little Easy Off oven cleaner 😉 I'd be tempted to put a dowel across the harp, on that 1890s dresser, and make a wash stand out of it. I liked that Victorian silver plate basket. It would've likely had to come home with me. The croquet set would've definitely come home with me! I liked the buggy seat. Mounted to a base, they make a great side bench. I have my great-granddad's corn sheller. My cheese would've slipped completely off my cracker with those bins of old keys 🤪😂 I love those things! Loved that oak wall phone! Always wanted one, but nowhere to put it. Was that a W. C. Fields vase/planter, at the Lucite grapes, or was it something missing a lid? That interested me. There was a stovetop percolator there that I would've had to get...been looking for one of those. There were a lot of things along that sale that caught my eye. Thanks for the take-along!
Hi there! I guess Easy Off? That seemed nearly permanently fused to the glass, just like mother used to burn (Lol, my mom was a great lady but not a great cook). The silver plate basket was handsome and I liked the detail on the inside! Croquet for a collection at that price was worth it, and what a true old looking set. I sold a mounted buggy seat once, and now I look at them with desire when I see them, had we had my van it would've come with me! I think that piece was missing something, so I skipped past it. I forget about practical things like percolators, I've been around this so long that I have about one of every imaginable! Glad you got to go along on a fun highway sale with me.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I've used Easy Off on a lot of old cookware, and it works wonders removing that baked-on crud. Sometimes heating it in the oven, on about 200, can make a huge difference, too. I really liked that old croquet set. I don't want one that looks pristine, and that one had the perfect amount of wear for me. That buggy seat would be great in a foyer. If I had space for one, I'd really like to have one of those old ones.
Oops! A Pheasant, not a Turkey on the Prohibition tankard 😊
😂
Hey Fans, Share George's video with a friend or two .
Thank George for all the generous info he shares with us !
My grandfather had that naked lady in the bathtub ashtray! Memories ❤ it was his favorite.
That fish plater has perfect places for lemon, kappers or tartar sauce. Very good, as Jeffery says 😂
That flashlight with that gigantic Duracell battery is the largest battery I have ever seen. I didn't even know they made batteries like that.

It is so true, afghans are cheap compared to what it costs to make them! Thank you for the tips
Those yellow mugs were tied together because they were probably bought at goodwill. That’s how the put them on the shelf.
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Yes 😊
Your so lucky to have such a helpful friend👍🏼
George, thank you for the info on Davy Crockett pieces, have a bowl i just nabbed and didn't know Cherrios was the source.

That looked like a double shot glass. 😂

Thanks George! I learned that the Blenko lotus bowl has 14 shallow petals and the Indiana has 12 longer ones.
24:10 you missed a nice Belgian razor sharpening stone for $15.
Gosh, those orange, green flower sheets were just like mine. The brand was Fieldcrestt, I think.
Hi guys❤ty for the ride along
Your the best

Hi there
at 31:54, Where those McCoy salt and Pepper shakers? I could sure use those to go with my brown dishes and bowls Collections!
They might have been Hull drip glaze, I think McCoy was a whiter finish
You talked about the old early 1900’s framed poems, what do they approximately sell for. Are they collectible?
My grandmother had that blue 60 pattern. I loved it soooo.
Neat! That would look good all together
I love the Lioness Lamp! I also collect Lions!
The hat looks like ramen noodles 😂

So frustrating. You skip over all the stuff I like: the galvanized and rusty garden stuff. Oh well. Very interesting post. 😆
So much fun.
Enjoyed the video ❤ JoAnn
Love the hat. Should have been a model!!
Miles of shopping… wonderful!
I had one of those buffet warmers! They worked great!
Not a turkey- it looks like a Ring Neck Pheasant!
Yes I sometimes miss the most obvious flubs! Naturally you're right
I would LOVE the Leo Goblet you found!
It sold to a fellow whose wife is a Leo and got it for her birthday this year!
Oh, the Royal Copley Ivy vase.😳 I just bought the same pair for $16🤩
Wonderful! Thank you, George! ❤❤❤
