  • Short tutorial on ending a mission by eliminating all OPFOR troops. This works for any opposition forces depending on the side you are playing.

    11:40 the way I did it is by making the trigger the size of the map and then all friendlies are inside it no matter what.

    Make the trigger as big as the map it self then use opfor not present and trigger type on end with a little time delay.

    Question: instead of adding a variable name to just the team leader can't I name the entire squad and use the !alive condition on them as a whole rather than just the team leader?

    An outstanding series of video tutorials. I`ve recently aquired Arma3 and have`nt mission built since Cold War Crisis these are really helping a great deal. Would it be possible to recall a Helo from loiter etc for extraction on the area being clear of Opfor from that Set Task State without script?

      You can certainly have a chopper come and extract your team once OPFOR is clear of an area, but having it loiter, as in flying around with an AI pilot; you can but you'll need additional waypoints set as 'hold' to do it. I'll do a quick tutorial on what you can do without using a script.

      @@OnlineCombatBN I think I figured it out, the Helo buggers off to a `Move` waypoint after insertion, then I just recalled it on a radio code trigger (Thanks for that btw) when my section had cleared the area.
      What I would like is a voice agkowledgement on issuing that radio code, so I know it`s been received, can`t quite figure that out.

      You could put a hint in the on activation section of the trigger.
      Hint "Stupid AI pilots are coming back";
      That will let you know the trigger has fired ok. Or you could add a custom voice file to work on activation.

      Double click on the Set Task State, open the System: Type tab, open the scenario flow drop down, and click “End Scenario”

    What if I have RED and GREEN enemy at once in this trigger. And BLUE needs to kill all RED and GREEN units?

    Super duper late but I do have a question for you pal;
    I noticed groups of entities (like an OPFOR assault team) can also have variable names to enter, but they don't work with the !Alive function or seemingly any other similar function to their death in any trigger.
    Is there a way to link the death of _all_ members of a group directly to a trigger, so that when they whole group is eliminated the task is finished?
    Or would I have to either:
    A. Use the area system you displayed
    Or B. Name each member of the hostile unit with a variable name (eg. Guard1, Guard2, ect..) and tie them to one trigger for !Alive for this to work?

      @@OnlineCombatBN it was to defend a base from an enemy advance, I didn't know which trigger to put or how, but I saw that you have to put a trigger with a function of "no Opfor presence" with the circle covering the entire base and synchronized with the goal of killing all enemies, thanks friend.

    Hey how do i make a trigger which will activate only death of particularly 2 or more enemy among a bunch?

      Add variable names to the units you want to have destroyed to activate the trigger. Example "unit1" and "unit2"
      In trigger condition add:
      !alive unit1 && !alive unit2;
      Once those units are destroyed, the trigger will then fire.

    For some reason my enemies aren’t dying they are going down but then I have to double tap them again so I can finish the mission

      That's to do with mission AI settings and not the topic of this video. There are scripts you can use to change damage done to enemy so they drop first shot, but that's a topic for another time.

      @@OnlineCombatBN I manage to make a work around it seems my trigger was too big that I cant even find where the rest of the enemies are! they seem to flee even if I set them to guard a specific area. so I just made the enemy zone on one building so if that area is clear or if they run away it triggers the end scenario.

      @@petermattison keep it simple. You're over complicating things. Looks like you might be using the same variable names more than once.

      @@OnlineCombatBN well thats just an example the syste would tell me if i used the same name once i just use one letter to name the variables but before i heard of (units "" + units "" +....) findIf {alive _x} isEqualTo -1 I would just try to use '!alive' and name each individual soldier in each group and put that in the trigger command '!alive steve1 && !alive steve2 && ..' until i had like 30 individual variables in a trigger command just for one group witch was a real bitch and it would have worked fine but what i also noticed if you kill the soldier thats listed last in the trigger command it executes it and completes it even though others are still alive but yea man atleast its better than undercomplicating things lol
