Love your videos. I have been watching for the past year. I have a 91 MR2 turbo gen 3 JDM swapped but I purchased it with a bad transmission for a good deal. I bought a another e153 with quaife diff. I been watching your videos to help educate me on the MR2 because I want to rebuild mine.
Nice informative videos. Have a 93 turbo, timing jumped a sprocket so shop reclocked it. Also swapped in a 94 ecu so shop had to repin harnass. Speedo does not work so going back to shop to recheck the harnass pinning. Very educational for me to see this. thanks
Bitingantz, thanks for these awesome videos! These are very informative and inspirational. These videos, along with BobPham's videos, are indeed great references/resources, especially for those of us who are still into 3sgte swaps. A few questions for you. Did you have to shave/grind that engine hook where the "J" mount/front engine mount connects to? For me, I had to grind/shave the hook and had to use spacers to have a gap so that the hook would not hit the water pump housing. In addition, I only bolted to top two bolts. It was a lot of back and forth grinding/shaving/taking on and off to ensure that the hook, where it mounts, had clearance. Bob's video provided a good source on these (and it appears to be easier using the 5sfe hook + spacers as compared to the GEN2 stock hook). One thing I don't know if the GEN5 3sgtes are like with the water pump housing when using the GEN2 3sgte hook, but it was definitely a moment for me with the GEN4. Also, when you are going to install, are you planning to bridge and bypass the fuel pump resistor? I assumed that you're uncle or you are going to also replace a new fuel pump. Also, any plans on a video with the proper vacuum lines? That would be useful! Anyhow, cheers and keep up with the videos!
Hello thanks for the feedback and apologies for the delayed response. With regards to the engine mount i did not have to modify at all. It bolted up and lined up with the jhook as well.
@@bitingantzAwesome. Glad it wasn't an issue. Keep up with the content and continue showing love for MR2s. I'll be sure to keep viewing your videos and watch the progress! Cheers!
@@bitingantz thank you my man, i was thinking of replacing my gen2 engine since the turbo is worn out and spending 500 to fix the engine might be a waste.
Good evening, I have a 1995 corolla 4wd and I want to do a 3sgte exchange but with a 3sge beans dual vvti head, you have to have more experience in those engines what do you think, it's worth it, greetings from Panama!!!

Awesome man, I appreciate the feedback and support. Good luck with the build.

When i use the 5s hook i had to slightly open one of the holes to get both upper bolts to fit.
More likely we will replace fuel pump to walbro and the plan is to bypass the fuel
Resistor.

Hello, honestly have not done anything with a beams engine but I would recommend just swapping a 3sgte over a beams 3sge. The turbo is a bonus IMO.
Can you send that engine to me in the UK 😅
Haha im sure you gonna build one soon
😂
