    Your videos are interesting, beautiful content.. and extra special because you also have the love of a beautiful cat 🐱.

      Thank you so much. Lately I've been these kinda low effort, unscripted wanderings because I have too much work on my plate to do the high production stuff I started out with. What I enjoy most is writing the story I want to tell and recording it well, then making fresh music that fits it. I'm hoping to get back to that kind of work soon, once I clear out some free time....

    Cleet shoes would be ideal for that snow run, kind of like the concept for chains for tires. They do make the cleats for your shoes. People use them hiking in the mountains to grip so they don't slip

    Dear Isaac,
    Im so glad to have discovered your channel. This might be a long one, I'm not to sure yet. In 7th grade, your father was my teacher, and my love of reading was growing tremendously at the time, and Warm Bodies is a book that always held a great place in my heart. I myself have left the "city life" and live in oklahoma now, and really appreciate it here more than i thought i would. As I started real life outside of school, I honestly can't remember the last novel I've read, and now at 24, I'd been craving reading again. My boyfriend took me to the library today for his own reasons, but I had a rough day and just wanted to be home. As I we were walking to check out his books, I saw your name and picked up Burning World and brought it the the Check out without question. In the car I read your dedication to the library I spent a lot of time at in highschool. I'm excited to read again. I'm excited to watch your videos and learn from you aswell, with experiences you share.

    Recently just finished binge reading the warm bodies series and my first thought was why has no one realised what a genius this writer is. I tried desperately to buy all of the series in hard copy (not just kindle) because I’m one of those weird people that get so obsessed over some books that I need to own the hard copies in case hamsters (evil_ ) take over the world and eat all the kindle servers. Now imagine me finding your website and learning the living is out of print (boo) but you seem to have a UA-cam channel going (yay). Thank you for sharing your unique life. It gives me (us) a chance to say thank you for bringing the characters you created to life and being courageous enough to share them with the rest of us (especially those of us who call ourselves writers but lack your dedication to push the words into a book and actually release it to the world)

Even the restless part of your mind gets occupied by the passing scenery, so you don't get distracted by boredom. It's the perfect conditions for solving mental puzzles.

More the visual side of things for me. A good run used do it for me too. Get a treadmill? Sometimes the best remedy is to forget "the project" and temporarily focus on another. Dream journal. Or maybe you need a spa day .... maybe there's a good massage/chiro/sauna/hot tub situation in Wenatchee or something ? Self care? It seems tho, overall, what used to work in the past, no longer does .... so the fun/curse is the struggle to find a new motivation. And time is the only solution.

Woke up today to find ice on the INSIDE of my windows and my water pipes are frozen. Yikes. Laughing at your treadmill suggestion though-have you noticed I live in a shed with about 5 square feet of floor space? 😂 I would kill for a nice massage today, but I would not drive to Wenatchee for it... It's mighty cold where I live right now with a wind chill of minus 40 (celsius) and I start to feel pretty restless bordering on depressed when I can't get outside. This too shall pass. hello Isaac

  • @eliza-uo6nk
    @eliza-uo6nk 6 місяців тому

    I like to think that we as humans are able to tap into a lot more than we think. That there is a sort of unconscious collective ‘source’ of intelligence(?) that floats around the ether. When we can distract the thinking mind and get into a state of ‘flow’ (often achieved by repeating a mindless physical task) sometimes we can tap into that source and that’s when the best creative ideas happen. End unsolicited spiritual rant.
    Please be careful out there and wear proper shoes? Running on that terrain looks like a good way to sprain an ankle.
    I like your channel, I think I will hang around :) I did not read or see Warm Bodies, but now I’ll have to. You are a fantastic storyteller, very rhythmic and lyrical prose; I feel like people don’t write like this anymore. I worry short-form content is crushing good storytelling, but maybe I’m an out of touch millennial. I had Warm Bodies on my Netflix list earlier this fall but they didn’t keep it available long enough for me to get to it! There’s too much content Isaac! But that just means it must’ve been popular bc they always snatch back the good stuff on Netflix, it’s only available for a few months at a time.

    • @OuterEdgeOutpost
      @OuterEdgeOutpost  6 місяців тому +1

      That's pretty much the extent of my spiritual beliefs as well. Something like the Akashic Records maybe. Closest I've been able to find to a "meaning of life" that feels meaningful to me.
      And thank you so much, I've been having such a good time making these videos. I feel like UA-cam is literally the last platform that still allows long form content. I put a lot of sweat and passion into Instagram before realizing it's just way too shallow to satisfy.

    • @OuterEdgeOutpost
      @OuterEdgeOutpost  8 місяців тому +1

      Well there's finding the initial inspiration/idea, and then there's writing it. For the first part, I just live my life in a way that I find inspiring, keep having new experiences, keep stirring the cauldron, and ideas always emerge. For the second part, actually executing the idea, it's a little more mechanical, just a matter of connecting all the pieces that I generated in the first stage. For that, I find high movement activities like walking, running, etc help jostle things around in my brain until they find their right place.

      Just a different feeling when you're moving fast through the scenery, and also much better exercise. I breathe heavy when trekking but I don't really break a sweat and my brain doesn't get hyper-oxygenated like it does when I run. But it's pretty challenging out here, with the snow.

    Looks like the numbers are in. If you want to be a "UA-camr", you better make more cat videos 🤣

      I mean all my videos are probably going to feature at least one cat, but I reeeeally don't want to become a "cat channel." As I've seen from what happened with my Watson video, the demographic that attracts is very...intense.

    You can’t really run in the snow it’s too slippy you could fall and injure yourself and give yourself a break it’s winter, chill time. I think a long walk would be just as good. ☺️

      Walking might have to do for a while now that it's -8 with arctic blast winds. I need to be heavily bundled to go out at all.
