That’s the issue, I want to bake a cake but I can’t eat it by myself. I try to hop on socials to see if anyone wants the cake, but I’ve been out of the social loop for some time so I realize I can’t offer my estranged cake. I overthink it and throw so much away. I wasted it! Then I think about food shortages and I start crying! Being an INFP is fun!
Right now I'm trying to find the perfect cake for my nieces baby shower. I'm researching and dreaming and building and I'm going to have to order it but I probably won't be able to find what I've imagined. I hope it's not late 😅
I dislike the stereotype that the arts are for Feelers, as if creating art doesn't present various problems to solve. There's a process, and different solutions to different problems. Using multiple techniques to better convey a message. Shape language and colour theory, spacing etc. etc. You can absolutely be a Thinker artist, not all art is about self-expression or "lifting people's spirits", sometimes it's absolutely a study in itself or a puzzle to be solved.
I agree with this, as an xSTx type, I once wanted to be a fashion designer and solve fashion problems like functionality, back when I liked that sort of thing it was thrilling.
I agree bc I'm in the exact opposite situation as a feeler who's in love with science and having one right explanation for what the reality is, and how and why it is what it is. I love solving these puzzles of nature and deducing the explanation based on what we've discovered so far.

Don't even get me started on music composition, which has a significant math element to it. Bach certainly strikes me as having been Thinker.
Sensors aren’t “dumb”, but the vast majority of “dumb” people are Sensors because the vast majority of people are Sensors. I hope this clears things up.
Specifically and apparently strong Si users, because they work best by conforming to standards, experience, and tradition. If unhealthy used, strong Si users will fight against innovation unless proven with facts. Some cultures think conformity is a sign of intelligence. They have a good reason to believe that, but the fact that they want to trap themselves in ignorance or inefficiency just because they respect someone pisses me the fuck off.

As an ENTP, according to other ENTPs, we all get to the conclusion that even when we are thinkers, we don’t like that much maths or physics (even when we don’t struggle that much at those subjects), we are more interested in classes that give us the opportunity to express ourselves, as history, literature or philosophy… also, a lot of INTPs (which is considered the smartest mbti type) love arts, even when they are good at maths, it doesn’t represent something that they like or love to do.
@xraf32 first, intjs are super smart, maybe even second to intps, but they're not smart as intps. What you mistake for intelligence is that intjs always have plans. they're master plan makers and the NT can make their plans very on point. Intps are analyzing everthing, you tell them a problem (not emotional problems of course), they give you the best solution in a matter of seconds. thats what I call being smart. Second, no mbti personality is smarter than the other, because smart means different for every person. What I call smart is solving problems efficiently. So you are right in your own way.

I'm INTP, I don't like math because it's boring. I usually learned the entire material from the book before classes started and spent the classes drawing. Still, I was the best student in the class and explained everything to my classmates.
As an INFJ, when he was talking about Sensing vs Intuition, I felt that shit in my BONES. I do well in school without taking notes or reading through the books, and people always seem to think I'm really smart. Now, I'm not stupid, but it's not that I'm smarter, it's just that I grasp principles and concepts easily, and I don't even want to TOUCH the details unless it's related to my future career options. But man, when it gets down to actually doing things hands-on, whether that be fixing a car, working with dangerous power-tools, or having a grounded, factual, granular discussion, I start to fall apart. That's where Sensing people come in, with their deep and exhaustive but narrower knowledge to save my ass.
It depends on how well you develop your skills, your inherent IQ, etc. I don't have any issues with grounded things I actually prefer them because they are less complicated and easier to manage.
Yea altho i work in industry (welding, engineering, manufacturing, and mechanics work) and im an ENFP so im intuitive too. The key is to get the important concepts to understand everything so you dont need the details. Conceptualize, dont memorize :)
11:35, thank you, finally, it always bothers me that INTP's are depicted as some kind of super smart, coder sort of individual. I was just above average as a student, yes I get curious about things but at no point could I admit that anything learned was constructive, particularly useful or anything to do with the actual subject at hand.
I am a INTP- but I'm kind of a machine of thought 'cuz like- I finished a math exercise without doing the way the teacher taught and there were kids on the first question but I did not stop drawing during it or after- it was way more interesting than the boring thing she was saying- idk I guess that even if people have the same personality type each one of us will be more or less inclined towards something and that's just a fun thing to explore

Theres many ways to solve/explore math problems. sometimes I too find the teachers method boring cause they just give you the method to solve with no explanations/weak explanations and it doesnt give me the satisfaction of discovering it myself. @@Ghost-lv8uw This could also relate to possible sub categories of personality types for example INTPs can come in many different forms when it comes to interests. Personally as an INTP I didn't have much interest in the school system and I thought that that structure of authority was holding me back since I was a little kid. As stupid as it sounds I simply rejected the structure of authority and did my own thing and became oblivious to the classroom around me simple out of spite due to my rebellious nature. Yet now that I'm in college and I can pursue things that interest me when it comes to learning I do way better since there's an actual interest involved therefore I don't have as much of an urge to tune it out and get lost in my own mind (yet I still do that). The main problem that still persists is that I still don't know what to do in terms of career, because nothing seems fulfilling and rather than stick to one thing I'd rather try everything which I realize is pretty common issue among INTPs.
INTJ, went to my college physics class three times. First day, midterm, final. Got an A+. Professor thought I cheated, so he gave me a 2nd final with essay in front of him. Got A+. He asked how? I said, you teach exactly from the text. I read it, did test questions, essays at end of each chapter on my own. Sitting in class listening to you regurgitate the text is a waste of my time. I know, I'm rude, arrogant, and antisocial. I love it.
Man same, the only class i paid attention was mathematics. I learned the rest by myself and belive me it might feel like an exaggeration but i was the topper at my school
I don't know I have to take the test again. I love maths, physics and chemistry. This don't hold true for me. But I learn things related to art easily too.

I'm an INFP and I've always loved math. It’s always come super easily to me and I love puzzles too. But I think for me it's less about solving a problem and getting a result. Math gives me a way to play in my mental playground. I like the many abstract concepts found in it, especially in Calculus and Trigonometry. I absolutely hate Statistics though, because there are way too many rules and it's all word problems in the real world rather than in the world of concepts and ideas
FJ, you could be a teacher or a prof you know and you would do really well being a teacher or prof based on how you make your videos and how much we love them and get mbti educated and it’s so fun and exciting to watch you and listen to you explaining stuff
@Kim Fabaceae as you said he would do great as a teacher, therapist or prof and their main goal is to read and understand people and as far as i know this are quite respected professions and if you think that trying to read people is disrespectful then i think you should not be in the mbti community in the first place
INTJ here studying Psychology and I admit it's more difficult than science. It's easier to find the pattern in science or how things works 'technically', while human is an unknown entity and give more unpredictable outcomes.
Everything is so on point. I'm an INTP I: Absolutely like to learn by myself and to research a lot, to get data. Can't stand study groups N: I grasp the concept very soon but then I fall in the details. Like I love to learn languages and while studying Latin and Greek I was very good at translating since the beginning. But then it came the time where I had to learn exceptions, tedious details etc... And I began to fail some tests. I had to really force myself to learn all those little details and it bothered me a lot. T: I am very very good at math and logic. Always have been good without any effort. Philosophy or literature, on the other hand... Not so much. But, at the university, I've discovered psychology and sociology and I've gone toward the study of them because I was using them to understand people motivations and reactions (it had always been a problem for me, kind of poor social skills). So they have become a tool to solve people as they were puzzles. Not to help anyone though. Indeed I didn't take psychiatry as major, I would be awful as psychiatrist. I would be able to understand the person, but I don't think I would have the skills to help. P: absolutely. I like to learn little bits of everything. Randomly. I don't like to be systematic. Indeed my school grades always followed a curve. Very high at the beginning (because I was excited about a new subject) and then worse and worse while I was losing interest and I got caught by something else. So now a know a little bit of a lot of stuff but nothing in real depth.
Well... no INTPs can be comfortable using Sensing. because they have Introverted sensing in their 3rd stack. Which is organizing the facts and details. In fact, there are INTPs that be more comfortable with Introverted sensing than Extraverted intuition, which is gathering patterns and concepts and stuff. So kind of whatever fits the boat. Why did Frank James stop teaching Cognitive functions. i have no idea why, i guess hes trying to approach for a larger audience that dont really understand MBTI fully to the bone. But for advanced mbti users, how we type people is by seeing what the person's cognitive functions are, like what do they feel comfortable using most of the time.

I was homeschooled most my life, now I go to a small school. I like that I can talk to my teacher and be like if I did this that will happen and stuff. But that just my opinion so 🤷
lmao INTP here too, good example is a math class I had, new school, it's normal for teachers to not understand that I am a freaking mind monster, I finished the math work while there were kids on the first question, and then I went to draw, she called me out a few times but then realized that I was done I finished my drawing tho- it was pretty cool
I'm an INTJ with ADHD and autism; I can sometimes focus super heavily on an assignment, while at other times I like to let myself naturally get distracted as long as I complete my assignment. If something seems tough, I'll hack at it for a day until I finally get the answer, which may be close to the due date or when the day is over. One friend I have is likely an ISFP. I've once asked him about the majors he's considering and observed that most of them are about humanities. Nevertheless, he's good with math if I remember correctly and likes technology.
INTP here why the hard big method to solve the puzzle from the inside if you can build the borders first with - + : x ? lol but math really is fun like a 500 piece puzzle or chess

Facts, when I get my work finished I start to fuck around and talk alot or create something to keep me interested. This shit is too easy were just too effective and better.

Infp here and yeah, this is really accurate :0 Art and English are my favorite subjects and I also really like science despite the stereotypes, and I think that's mainly because I have a passion for it and I like to connect things I've learned in science to other things and make it interesting for myself, though im not that great at chemistry and formulas aha
INTP You said 'group project' and I wound up reflecting on all the group projects where I wound up doing all the work because everyone else goofed off. To the point where the video is halfway over and I realised I wasn't paying attention anymore.
As an INFP, I agree with the fact that my Intuitive side is totally showing, especially in math class. I do get good grade in math, but my method is really close to guessing the answer as you said. Sometimes, I don’t even apply the method that we learnt in class, I just try to find it my way. It’s true that I can struggle because of that, that’s what I have to work on.
I did maths as one of my final subjects, and used to understand all the concepts, but often get the answer wrong because I'd miss details. I'm INFP and I kinda enjoy math too. It's fun to figure theoretical things out, but I'm not great at real-world application.
As an ENFP I ask a lot of questions and can seem scattered, because I do not pay attention to detail. And ask questions that seem obvious to other people who are, or the questions just seem random. I process through talking it through with either just myself or someone else. Also games and stickers- great ways to get me to pick something up. But just in general I’ve always loved something new and just love learning in general (except learning maths- never liked how that was taught). I learn a lot better when i have interaction with other people, and also things that are engaging, like music- I’m great at learning song lyrics so one of the ways I revise is by parodying songs for my subject. Hate to be a stereotype but Maths and Science are not things that come naturally to me. I was much more of a humanities and Literature person. I love subjects that are well subjective. I’m not the biggest fan of something with a definitive answer. I like Evaluating things, exploring new ideas (so like English there is so much you can take from a text and there isn’t a right or wrong answer which I love). Even history yes there are facts which I find super interesting but there is so much room for debate and discussion and so many lessons and ideas you can take from past events. I also am taking Law. Yes you have the rules and law you have to apply and sometimes there is a definitive answer, but again there’s debate and discussion and it’s just so interesting to me- because I know one day it Can also help people and just it’s interesting to me. I’m so much happier at a level than secondary school, I go to a college which is a lot more independent learning yet you still get that classroom interaction (4 hours and 20 mins a week for each subject). You get homework but it’s a lot more you do work in your style and lessons are so much more laid back.
I am an INFP and to be honest math, science(especially biology) and english are the only subjects which come naturally to me. Social sciences bore the crap out of me.
I'm decent at math and science, but I'm not a fan of history. Too many names to remember. I also have a sort of scatterbrained way of asking questions, and it usually leads to people wondering where I'm getting my questions from.
I'm an INFP. I agree with I vs *E,* N vs S and J vs P. I don't really agree with F vs T because I'm better at math and stuff. I just find it easier to explain something logical rather than something emotional because I just see it and I feel like it should be obvious to everyone. Probably because I have both high functioning autism(the kind that come with super intelligence. This is a social problem because most people aren't intelligent enough to understand what I'm saying) and ADHD(social problem because I can't focus on what people are saying) Edit: it's aspergers syndrome
INFJ here, honestly, I always thought there was something wrong with my ability to learn. I take ages, I need to understand details, what and why and how and everything needs to be clear in my head before I do anything else. If I'm forced to try anything in practice before I'm 100% sure of every single thing I need to do, I panic, my mind goes blank and I forget everything I've learned so far. And I need to study alone, otherwise I can't focus. Good to know it's just an introvert thing:) (i'm also a virgo which might affect too lol:D)

Infp here, when i was in elementary school my parents and my enviroment valued so much getting good grades and learning that somehow stuck with me and i ended up in a biochemistry highschool class and graduated with a perfect b2 math exam (b1 would be the one the math class had to take), what i want to say is feelers can easilly learn logic based subjects if they value it

I was surprised to find how in the MBTI community there is such a strong bias towards intuitive types. And even was confused as to why. When I first learned about Myers-Briggs in my psychology class we just read the description for each of the letters individually, I assumed that most people would like to be a Sensor if they could rather an Intuitive because of its implied usefulness, it means being practical, precise, factual, realistic, functional, etc. But it seems most people ignore that and focus straight and all the good side they see of being an intuitive, I still don't fully comprehend.
I now know that isn’t the case. My mom is the smartest one in my family and yet she is a sensor. Meanwhile, my dad and brother have equal amounts of sensing and intuition while I am more intuitive.
ENTJ Female here. I rarely move to Introversion, never move to feeling, sometimes move to perceiving but do often try to move to sensing and it has brought me lots of satisfaction. I always say I am a ENTJ with my "ESTJ moments" haha and I think it has helped me to achieve more. You are all right, we need to try to use other functions when needed/convenient.
I wish there was a formal school for NPs 😂. I appreciate the structure because I don't really have it but I want the system to do it in an NP way. Deadlines are always good for us too, whether we like it or not. It's something concrete to dig us out of our misty NP cloud. - INFP
I am an ISTP and the time I worked with an INTJ was interesting because the INTJ always saw things on a large scale, but I had to explain the details of that large process. It was a bit complicated for me to understand why he was so quick to come to that conclusion and it was difficult for the INTJ to explain details and not the big picture. In the end, we came out badly because INTJ was the leader and the complaint we had for our teacher was that the project did not contemplate details.
As an INTJ I can relate to that. We are always thinking about possible solutions, ways to improve something and so on, but fail miserably when trying to explain the smaller things. It's like we want to build straight from beginning to end in the most efficient way possible, not picking smaller thing to "distract" ourselves lmao
That's why I, don't like to be the leader. I may be smart but sometimes i will make a dumb mistakes when I was young. Now I'm older, i want (need) to overcome this weakness (it's not easy tho ~^~)
Interesting. I'm an INTJ female and detail-oriented (though I also consider the big picture). My father is also INTJ but he looks at the big picture more and doesn't really care about the nitty gritty stuff. But for me, I know what my goal is and so I want to hone the fine details so my work is perfect. Wonder if this has anything to do with being male/female?
I think something that is missing in this analysis is the part that memory plays in the learning process. I have noticed that all the XNXPs I know while according to this video they are supposed to be fast at learning have a weak memory and their attention is often scattered. While the XSXJs....let's say we are in the nerdy side. (And about the stereotype between the Ns and Ss, just thinking you know something because you grasped the main idea might be dangerous and sloppy. It's like the mass production. The fact it's fast and much usually means you to chose quantity over quality. A combination of both is the best I think. We need people with vision like the Ns but we also need the practical minds like Ss to make it come true.) My own personal experience (ISFJ) is that while in school I tried hard but I was a just good student, I was a total nerd in university. Which I suppose fits the pattern of interest helping you learn better. I have received 3 university scholarships in the row because I was the top student and my grades were top because I could memorize every single thing and I still remember everything after years. And not just the details about the subject but ideas, conversations and every other random thing that was going on around. And I have been told that my type has a great memory, so...shouldn't that play a part as well?
I agree. I'm an INFP and I learn new (interesting) stuff, like MBTI, fast and furiously and forget it immediately. My ISTJ bf learns so slowly I sometimes think he's kidding me. But guess what: after a year or 10 years or 40 years he remembers what he had learned. I'm an expert of anything I learn in a week time and guess what - I'm a total ignorant of the subject a month later like I've never touched it in my life! With some general conclusion left maybe or a feeling of a general pattern, or just a feeling... this makes me far more stupid tbh from this slow and steady mammoth.
I'm ENTP and agreed, love group projects, go direct to action instead of reading a manual, but I do care with other ppl think and feel about my work (I'm an animator/artist), butttt when I'm learning I think a lot more if what I'm learning will be useful
Same, I learn by diving into the project instead of reading instructions. I get bored reading the details and some of it might be confusing. Plus it's a narrow path on learning how to do something, where as experimenting can lead to infinite possibilities on doing something, even leading to the same results. I could also see how something works instead of reading about it in words because I may not know what the instructions are even talking about unless I see the actual process. Like they say, a picture says a thousand words, so watching it through a video or real life says thousands!
At this point, it's not even how high or low your Fe is in your function stack. It's just mature to be open-minded with others' opinions because they might present a better perspective, or your judgement might have been clouded by biases without you realizing it.
I read this one joke about working in a group; it goes something like this: Extrovert: How long will it take you to assemble that furniture? Introvert: One hour. Extroverts: How long will it take you if I help you out? Introvert: Two hours.
I don't think this video is relevant to MBTI but relevant to the letter typing more , cause if we take an ENTJ for example they actually do care about the details at least more than other intuitives and the problem solving of the letter T with the way you described it I think is more Ti than it's Te
Yes I can agree, I would have liked it if it where described using the cognitive functiions more than the letter typing. Theres some bit of unmatched things when it comes to just describing it by letter tho kinda hoped theres more cognitive functions to it.
There is a problem of trying to pin thinkers vs feelers or intuitive vs sensors in this kinds of things. Because Introverted and extroverted functions work radically different a lot of times. Take the part of Frank saying what thinkers prefer to learn. At 8:36 "This is gonna help me get something done, this is gonna help me do my work and accomplish something" but that is how Te works, not Ti. Ti is driven interest and curiosity not how useful it is in external things. Ti finds joy in the process of learning more than applying that knowledge. A lot of times introverted functions have more in common with their opposite introverted counterpart than the extroverted version of said function, on the way they work. If you look for example an ExTJ and compare them to an IxTP they have almost nothing in common. You can't just simply put both functions together just because they are thinking, or intuitive, or sensors. Look at Se doms and compare them to Si doms, the dom functions and how they use them are drastically different.
Also, my brother is an ESFP and I am an ENTP, I have been observing how different our middle functions work. A lot of people do not realize how active the middle functions really are. Are we feeler or thinking? we are a lot of times, both. ExFPs can really develop Te and they could watch this video, and really identify with what was said for thinkers. And that is how you get ExFPs who think they are ExTPs. Then it doesn't help that the stereotypes of the thinkers being abrasive assholes, because ExTPs with developed Fe can also look at those stereotypes and say, guess I am an ExFP because I am not an asshole. I have observed that a lot of ExFPs can be really really abrasive and direct, because of that Te. While some ExTPs, can keep their Ti to themselves and interact with people mostly with their Fe. Guess what I am trying to say, is that things are way more nuanced, and this level of reductionism more than helping in can create way more confusion, and there is already a lot of very very inaccurate information out there thanks to the stereotypes. Also that, the middle functions are way more active than people think, just as the examples I gave with thinkers and feeler, people with sensor and intuitive in the middle, act like both simultaneously. That is why you have a lot of ISFPs believing they are INFPs, because the Ni in ISFPs is really really good.

I feel called out the cake. In high school, I took Chemistry of Foods. We had to bake a chocolate cake. My groups cake was suppose to be the worse cake. It was not. Changed the recipe and added some strawberries because it looked pretty. Got my group into trouble because of it. The teacher did state the cake was the best tasting cake she had in the class.
It would be interesting if you could establish some relationships betwen the 16 personalities and the three basic learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic). As an INTJ I thought for most of my life my main learning style was auditory but turns out I am kinesthetic. However, my cognitive functions (and high IQ) helped me to be a quick learner, despite the lack of stimuli that I would have actually prefered. I figured it as an adult, studying my masters on Education.

Every single thing you said was 100% true for me. I'm INFP (but very close to ENFP). I need to learn on my own, I wilt in a structured/controlled environment, I like to internalize everything, I'm much more intuitive about concepts, whereas trivia/facts are easy to forget. I very often need to figure things out for myself (Ne) - for instance, I couldn't stand piano lessons, but I taught myself to play by just messing around. I find logical systems harder to focus on unless they excite my interest and curiosity (Fi and Ne). I find many things painfully boring if they do not relate to my personal values in some way (Fi). In school, the classroom setting was mind-numbing and it was almost painful to pay attention, but any time the subjects were something to do with either the arts or the humanities, I got into a flow state of focus.
As an enfj, it actually helps ME study, by answering questions ppl ask me in class, so I enjoy being "the smart kid" because ppl ask me for help, and helping them helps me.
As an ENFP I just watch some UA-cam videos and think "What if I turn everything I learn into a story somehow?" And then start watching much about a thing but then stop. That's how I created "Danger: Chemical Humans".

As an INFP with some INFJ traits he was spot on. I am an encyclopedia page. I have so much information in my brain it hurts. I remember I once was talking to a MD about neurodegenerative diseases and given that this MD was not specialized in them she was totally shocked when I was talking like a neurologist. I read a lot about neurology just because I find it so fascinating. I know so much about so many fields but I totally hate how education system is structured. In my opinion it is structured in a very boring unstimulating way. I'm a straight A student but only if the subject is stimulating and interesting and if not I get bored and lose interest altogether. We are sponges actually. We process a ton of info from various fields as long as they are not boring.
As a sad ISTP, I'm forced to learn from the big picture every time in class :( And I always struggle so much cuz I'm really really bad at seeing the overall concept, although I can remember and understand details quite well It doesn't help when everyone around me are Ns where they communicate and explain in concepts that I continue to struggle to understand

INFP here. This really helps, since I have recently realized this about myself and recently realized that I needed to make an effort to be more detailed oriented in learning the facts about what I am hearing about or learning how to do, instead of being only intuitive about a topic or desired skill. This shows the way to how to be aware and dive deeper into the details, despite our discomfort in doing so and habits formed early in life. So, it can be done!
As an ENTP I can't relate. Although I love talking to other people to absorb new information and opinions, I prefer to sort them out on my own. I also prefer to learn alone because I often don't understand other people's explanations well. Besides, I have to be able to fully understand one thing first in order to learn new things based on it.

INTP female. oddly enough, i'm better at languages and arts rather than math and all, but perhaps that's due to the fact that i used to be a feeler and picked up on all the arts types in primary school. when it came to secondary school i just didnt enjoy learning all that much so maybe thats why im not that great at math and science, just because i didnt really try to learn it.
My sis is an INTP too. She is super, and I mean SUPER good at drawing (like she is very likely the best artist in her grade at our school), music (piano + viola), which would make you think she might have mistyped, but oh noooo. She is the biggest nerd in math, chemistry, anatomy, and others branches of science, you name it. She is also very good at making friends which is surprising, but she is extremely funny and considerate with people as long as it isn't me haha. It's hard to have such a smart and talented person as a sibling, I gotta tell ya 😅

INFP here, I forget everything all the time, that's why I love math and science, because it doesn't matter if I forgot an enzyme or a formula, if I understand it, I'll understand it forever, I'll just have to read it again but just for the details.
That's the thing that always made me thought, that I am partially (or even entirely when I got to know 16 personalities for the first time) INTP, because I always enjoyed Maths, I'm a programmer and have a very analitycal mind in terms of those topics. However the test always says that I'm INFP. And when I read the descriptions of INFP and INTP, I'm sure that I'm much more INFP. I realized, that when I make decisions about my life, especially when they affect other people, I am a feeler. Emotions play a big role, I often wander with my mind in different places and so on. Maybe I'm still a little bit of INTP, because sometimes I turn on "logical mode" in discussions (even more often when I don't care about the particular person) and sometimes I feel bad a little bit after that (not always), because it sometimes feels like "asshole mode" 😆 On the other hand there are also a lot of discussions when I say generalisations, taking other people's feelings into consideration, and then the "(probably) real thinkers" say that's not logical. And I actually agree with them on that level, but still feel that there's something more than just logic 😆 So, well, it's not that simple 😄
Yeah, you're an INFP. If it makes you feel better, I also thought I was an INTP for a while, but it turns out we INFPs just have an analytical side. ^_^
This just made me think I'm much more balanced than I realised. Even though I might be introverted, I like to ask others their opinions on topics, I'm intuitive but I like to understand the details as well, I'm a feeler, but also love a challenge for the sake of a challenge. I'm INFP and I love science, math, and creative writing. I don't take insults to heart at all, in fact I almost never remember them. I also participate in class too much. Teachers don't call on me because I'm always the only one with my hand up. I also love to work out problems and sometimes I don't connect well with people. I hate art classes, it seems pretty pointless to me. I like working with wood, but pen and paper isn't for me. My conversation style is constant jokes in a fun scenario and letting people vent if they need to. I almost never talk about my own feelings, but I will argue the heck out of something I'm passionate about. Be warned anti-maskers. I will tear your arguments to shreds. I honestly was surprised I'm not a thinking type. Maybe it is an INFP thing and I'm wrong, but I don't feel like the test describes me well. I have taken the test twice because I didn't feel like it fit me.

I enjoy watching your programs. I am in my middle 70’s and retired. 2 observations: intuitive = guessing is hardly correct. I think you know that, somehow, therefore I am not going into a long dissertation here. 2nd observation is that of all the MB profiles you are most dismissive of the INFJ’s. You either portray them as little sad sacks, with no redeeming qualities, or dismiss them as less consequential in human society. I have noted in the segments that I have been (binge) watching that without fail you give the INFJ the least amount of time. Your sense of humor and switching between characters are phenomenal, and I truly enjoy it.
I’m an INFP and in many parts of this video I thought I had gotten an incorrect result. For example, I have always been good at Maths, Physics etc. But not because I like the structure and the rules and I have spent hours upon hours studying them. No, my special ability is that I learn everything in connection to something else I already knew. I think in terms of connections. It’s something I do subconsciously with everything around me. So, when later I have to solve a Maths problem or learn a new concept in Physics it’s not as hard for me to do it because I’ve made the connections and know where to go looking for the necessary information.
I am an infj, just found out a year ago. Studying has been my thing for 20 plus years. While everyone else were functioning adults with jobs and families, i felt like an eternal student. I can't absolutely say i am smart but i could say i study smarter. I grasp concepts and apply them in a broader sense. How things are interconnected and how they are not. I always took notes during lectures which other people borrow. My books have writing on the sides for easy review. I made diagrams and drawings to help in my study. I read slowly and carefully once to retain info and subsequent reads are for review or to remind me what i forgot. My best subjects were science and english . Math is my waterloo. Although i am good at accounting and analytic chem where things need to be balanced. When i am interested at something then i am really good at it, when i am not then i struggle. I often studied in the library with friends but sometimes i taught them. My friends told me i made things simple to understand. Even if i were not the best at math they told me i can teach math for dummies. I am good at predicting what would come out on tests.
I'm an INFJ and I've always thought ISTJs were smart. Si is a great function, not to mention Te which is focused on being efficient. Being an S type doesn't mean you're dumb at all.
Yeah, it's how you use your introverted sensing (Si) that makes you dumb. If you fight against innovation and prefer the comfort of conformity without testing its validation, then yeah, you're kinda dumb. But that's not you. Perhaps you just need a bit of evidence, as you're open minded and can try new things by easing yourself into it. I'm an INTJ and I know how that feels.
I'm a Literature teacher (and also an INFP), I have a student and he seems like an ESTP, the kid never gets what I say 🤦♀️ just like when I tell the class bout a poem that the poet wrote to show how he loved/treasured his wife cause he didn't have a successful career like others so the wife had to work hard, other kids some is touched and some got it right away, but that ESTP student, he asked me: why she had to live like that? why didn't her just dump that guy and go back to her parents house? 🤦♀️ and I was speechless 🤣🤣
As a Sensor - yes, can confirm I'm a ridiculously slow learner (damn it). As a Judging type - yes, can confirm that Uncertainty is NOT my friend, ie I prefer dealing with a narrower range of scenarios as opposed to dealing with what feels like infinitely too many scenarios. Heck, I'd even love to know my date of death so I can compute at what age I can stop working.
I'm an ENFP/ENTP -A(I feel like it's literally 50/50 but maybe a bit more ENFP) :D Out of everything he said here, I think the one that is most true for me is the Intuitive/Feeling part. I don't like having to look at details and following step by step in the process of learning new things. The feeling part of how "most feelers prefer to learn something they/other people enjoy" was very true. I feel like I do so much better at the things I genuinely enjoy (perfect example for me is that I love the subject of writing, which I love making stories or even retelling past experiences through them, it's so awesome just how much you can convey with a seemingly short and simple story and how I'm forced to use my own imagination and way of expression. When other people have to read your work and tell you how they thought of it is just a bonus for me :D). Yet for a subject I don't like, it's hard for me to enjoy classes and fully engage myself (Personally, I'm not a big fan of history which bores me out of my wits, and makes me look at documents using the old-timey language we all hate... like ugh, do I really have to write an essay explaining how the Age of Enlightenment affected the American Revolution??). However, I have this weird thing with math, I have a bit of math anxiety, yet I am somehow in a math class two years above my current grade. Somedays I just hate math and wish I could just do some other subject, and other days I get annoyed at my teacher for getting the information wrong and moving at snail-speed in our textbook... I don't really understand this concept though.

Fashion sense is not only for feelers. I am an INTJ. Having good fashion sense and taste allows me to develop unique personal style, which, in turn, allows me to accomplish a lot of goals in life, both personal and professional. I also use my closet as a form of therapy, because it is so perfectly balanced and organized that it immediately destroys any anxiety and depression when I open it.

I dislike the stereotype that the arts are for Feelers, as if creating art doesn't present various problems to solve. There's a process, and different solutions to different problems. Using multiple techniques to better convey a message. Shape language and colour theory, spacing etc. etc.
You can absolutely be a Thinker artist, not all art is about self-expression or "lifting people's spirits", sometimes it's absolutely a study in itself or a puzzle to be solved.
As an intuitive studying media design, what you described sounds more like design to me. But design can be art too!
I agree with this, as an xSTx type, I once wanted to be a fashion designer and solve fashion problems like functionality, back when I liked that sort of thing it was thrilling.
I agree bc I'm in the exact opposite situation as a feeler who's in love with science and having one right explanation for what the reality is, and how and why it is what it is. I love solving these puzzles of nature and deducing the explanation based on what we've discovered so far.

Sensors aren’t “dumb”, but the vast majority of “dumb” people are Sensors because the vast majority of people are Sensors. I hope this clears things up.
Specifically and apparently strong Si users, because they work best by conforming to standards, experience, and tradition. If unhealthy used, strong Si users will fight against innovation unless proven with facts.
Some cultures think conformity is a sign of intelligence. They have a good reason to believe that, but the fact that they want to trap themselves in ignorance or inefficiency just because they respect someone pisses me the fuck off.

As an ENTP, according to other ENTPs, we all get to the conclusion that even when we are thinkers, we don’t like that much maths or physics (even when we don’t struggle that much at those subjects), we are more interested in classes that give us the opportunity to express ourselves, as history, literature or philosophy…
also, a lot of INTPs (which is considered the smartest mbti type) love arts, even when they are good at maths, it doesn’t represent something that they like or love to do.

@xraf32 first, intjs are super smart, maybe even second to intps, but they're not smart as intps. What you mistake for intelligence is that intjs always have plans. they're master plan makers and the NT can make their plans very on point. Intps are analyzing everthing, you tell them a problem (not emotional problems of course), they give you the best solution in a matter of seconds. thats what I call being smart.
Second, no mbti personality is smarter than the other, because smart means different for every person. What I call smart is solving problems efficiently. So you are right in your own way.

As an INFJ, when he was talking about Sensing vs Intuition, I felt that shit in my BONES. I do well in school without taking notes or reading through the books, and people always seem to think I'm really smart. Now, I'm not stupid, but it's not that I'm smarter, it's just that I grasp principles and concepts easily, and I don't even want to TOUCH the details unless it's related to my future career options. But man, when it gets down to actually doing things hands-on, whether that be fixing a car, working with dangerous power-tools, or having a grounded, factual, granular discussion, I start to fall apart. That's where Sensing people come in, with their deep and exhaustive but narrower knowledge to save my ass.

It depends on how well you develop your skills, your inherent IQ, etc. I don't have any issues with grounded things I actually prefer them because they are less complicated and easier to manage.
Yea altho i work in industry (welding, engineering, manufacturing, and mechanics work) and im an ENFP so im intuitive too. The key is to get the important concepts to understand everything so you dont need the details. Conceptualize, dont memorize :)
11:35, thank you, finally, it always bothers me that INTP's are depicted as some kind of super smart, coder sort of individual. I was just above average as a student, yes I get curious about things but at no point could I admit that anything learned was constructive, particularly useful or anything to do with the actual subject at hand.

Theres many ways to solve/explore math problems. sometimes I too find the teachers method boring cause they just give you the method to solve with no explanations/weak explanations and it doesnt give me the satisfaction of discovering it myself.

@@Ghost-lv8uw This could also relate to possible sub categories of personality types for example INTPs can come in many different forms when it comes to interests. Personally as an INTP I didn't have much interest in the school system and I thought that that structure of authority was holding me back since I was a little kid. As stupid as it sounds I simply rejected the structure of authority and did my own thing and became oblivious to the classroom around me simple out of spite due to my rebellious nature. Yet now that I'm in college and I can pursue things that interest me when it comes to learning I do way better since there's an actual interest involved therefore I don't have as much of an urge to tune it out and get lost in my own mind (yet I still do that). The main problem that still persists is that I still don't know what to do in terms of career, because nothing seems fulfilling and rather than stick to one thing I'd rather try everything which I realize is pretty common issue among INTPs.

He asked how? I said, you teach exactly from the text. I read it, did test questions, essays at end of each chapter on my own. Sitting in class listening to you regurgitate the text is a waste of my time.

I'm an INFP and I've always loved math. It’s always come super easily to me and I love puzzles too. But I think for me it's less about solving a problem and getting a result. Math gives me a way to play in my mental playground. I like the many abstract concepts found in it, especially in Calculus and Trigonometry. I absolutely hate Statistics though, because there are way too many rules and it's all word problems in the real world rather than in the world of concepts and ideas

INTJ here studying Psychology and I admit it's more difficult than science. It's easier to find the pattern in science or how things works 'technically', while human is an unknown entity and give more unpredictable outcomes.

I: Absolutely like to learn by myself and to research a lot, to get data. Can't stand study groups
N: I grasp the concept very soon but then I fall in the details. Like I love to learn languages and while studying Latin and Greek I was very good at translating since the beginning. But then it came the time where I had to learn exceptions, tedious details etc... And I began to fail some tests. I had to really force myself to learn all those little details and it bothered me a lot.
T: I am very very good at math and logic. Always have been good without any effort.

But, at the university, I've discovered psychology and sociology and I've gone toward the study of them because I was using them to understand people motivations and reactions (it had always been a problem for me, kind of poor social skills). So they have become a tool to solve people as they were puzzles. Not to help anyone though. Indeed I didn't take psychiatry as major, I would be awful as psychiatrist. I would be able to understand the person, but I don't think I would have the skills to help.
P: absolutely. I like to learn little bits of everything. Randomly. I don't like to be systematic. Indeed my school grades always followed a curve. Very high at the beginning (because I was excited about a new subject) and then worse and worse while I was losing interest and I got caught by something else. So now a know a little bit of a lot of stuff but nothing in real depth.

Well... no INTPs can be comfortable using Sensing. because they have Introverted sensing in their 3rd stack. Which is organizing the facts and details. In fact, there are INTPs that be more comfortable with Introverted sensing than Extraverted intuition, which is gathering patterns and concepts and stuff. So kind of whatever fits the boat. Why did Frank James stop teaching Cognitive functions. i have no idea why, i guess hes trying to approach for a larger audience that dont really understand MBTI fully to the bone. But for advanced mbti users, how we type people is by seeing what the person's cognitive functions are, like what do they feel comfortable using most of the time.

I'm an INTJ with ADHD and autism; I can sometimes focus super heavily on an assignment, while at other times I like to let myself naturally get distracted as long as I complete my assignment. If something seems tough, I'll hack at it for a day until I finally get the answer, which may be close to the due date or when the day is over.
One friend I have is likely an ISFP. I've once asked him about the majors he's considering and observed that most of them are about humanities. Nevertheless, he's good with math if I remember correctly and likes technology.

Art and English are my favorite subjects and I also really like science despite the stereotypes, and I think that's mainly because I have a passion for it and I like to connect things I've learned in science to other things and make it interesting for myself, though im not that great at chemistry and formulas aha

As an INFP, I agree with the fact that my Intuitive side is totally showing, especially in math class. I do get good grade in math, but my method is really close to guessing the answer as you said. Sometimes, I don’t even apply the method that we learnt in class, I just try to find it my way. It’s true that I can struggle because of that, that’s what I have to work on.
I did maths as one of my final subjects, and used to understand all the concepts, but often get the answer wrong because I'd miss details. I'm INFP and I kinda enjoy math too. It's fun to figure theoretical things out, but I'm not great at real-world application.
As an ENFP I ask a lot of questions and can seem scattered, because I do not pay attention to detail. And ask questions that seem obvious to other people who are, or the questions just seem random. I process through talking it through with either just myself or someone else. Also games and stickers- great ways to get me to pick something up. But just in general I’ve always loved something new and just love learning in general (except learning maths- never liked how that was taught). I learn a lot better when i have interaction with other people, and also things that are engaging, like music- I’m great at learning song lyrics so one of the ways I revise is by parodying songs for my subject.
Hate to be a stereotype but Maths and Science are not things that come naturally to me. I was much more of a humanities and Literature person. I love subjects that are well subjective. I’m not the biggest fan of something with a definitive answer. I like Evaluating things, exploring new ideas (so like English there is so much you can take from a text and there isn’t a right or wrong answer which I love). Even history yes there are facts which I find super interesting but there is so much room for debate and discussion and so many lessons and ideas you can take from past events. I also am taking Law. Yes you have the rules and law you have to apply and sometimes there is a definitive answer, but again there’s debate and discussion and it’s just so interesting to me- because I know one day it Can also help people and just it’s interesting to me.
I’m so much happier at a level than secondary school, I go to a college which is a lot more independent learning yet you still get that classroom interaction (4 hours and 20 mins a week for each subject). You get homework but it’s a lot more you do work in your style and lessons are so much more laid back.

INFJ here, honestly, I always thought there was something wrong with my ability to learn. I take ages, I need to understand details, what and why and how and everything needs to be clear in my head before I do anything else. If I'm forced to try anything in practice before I'm 100% sure of every single thing I need to do, I panic, my mind goes blank and I forget everything I've learned so far. And I need to study alone, otherwise I can't focus. Good to know it's just an introvert thing:) (i'm also a virgo which might affect too lol:D)

Infp here, when i was in elementary school my parents and my enviroment valued so much getting good grades and learning that somehow stuck with me and i ended up in a biochemistry highschool class and graduated with a perfect b2 math exam (b1 would be the one the math class had to take), what i want to say is feelers can easilly learn logic based subjects if they value it

I was surprised to find how in the MBTI community there is such a strong bias towards intuitive types. And even was confused as to why. When I first learned about Myers-Briggs in my psychology class we just read the description for each of the letters individually, I assumed that most people would like to be a Sensor if they could rather an Intuitive because of its implied usefulness, it means being practical, precise, factual, realistic, functional, etc. But it seems most people ignore that and focus straight and all the good side they see of being an intuitive, I still don't fully comprehend.
I'm ISTJ and I'm not drawn to engineering or any other STEM-related majors. But that's just me, perhaps other sensors are.
I now know that isn’t the case. My mom is the smartest one in my family and yet she is a sensor. Meanwhile, my dad and brother have equal amounts of sensing and intuition while I am more intuitive.

ENTJ Female here. I rarely move to Introversion, never move to feeling, sometimes move to perceiving but do often try to move to sensing and it has brought me lots of satisfaction. I always say I am a ENTJ with my "ESTJ moments" haha and I think it has helped me to achieve more. You are all right, we need to try to use other functions when needed/convenient.

I am an ISTP and the time I worked with an INTJ was interesting because the INTJ always saw things on a large scale, but I had to explain the details of that large process. It was a bit complicated for me to understand why he was so quick to come to that conclusion and it was difficult for the INTJ to explain details and not the big picture. In the end, we came out badly because INTJ was the leader and the complaint we had for our teacher was that the project did not contemplate details.
As an INTJ I can relate to that. We are always thinking about possible solutions, ways to improve something and so on, but fail miserably when trying to explain the smaller things. It's like we want to build straight from beginning to end in the most efficient way possible, not picking smaller thing to "distract" ourselves lmao
That's why I, don't like to be the leader.
I may be smart but sometimes i will make a dumb mistakes when I was young. Now I'm older, i want (need) to overcome this weakness (it's not easy tho ~^~)

My father is also INTJ but he looks at the big picture more and doesn't really care about the nitty gritty stuff. But for me, I know what my goal is and so I want to hone the fine details so my work is perfect. Wonder if this has anything to do with being male/female?

I think something that is missing in this analysis is the part that memory plays in the learning process. I have noticed that all the XNXPs I know while according to this video they are supposed to be fast at learning have a weak memory and their attention is often scattered. While the XSXJs....let's say we are in the nerdy side.
(And about the stereotype between the Ns and Ss, just thinking you know something because you grasped the main idea might be dangerous and sloppy. It's like the mass production. The fact it's fast and much usually means you to chose quantity over quality. A combination of both is the best I think. We need people with vision like the Ns but we also need the practical minds like Ss to make it come true.)
My own personal experience (ISFJ) is that while in school I tried hard but I was a just good student, I was a total nerd in university. Which I suppose fits the pattern of interest helping you learn better. I have received 3 university scholarships in the row because I was the top student and my grades were top because I could memorize every single thing and I still remember everything after years. And not just the details about the subject but ideas, conversations and every other random thing that was going on around. And I have been told that my type has a great memory, so...shouldn't that play a part as well?
I agree. I'm an INFP and I learn new (interesting) stuff, like MBTI, fast and furiously and forget it immediately. My ISTJ bf learns so slowly I sometimes think he's kidding me. But guess what: after a year or 10 years or 40 years he remembers what he had learned. I'm an expert of anything I learn in a week time and guess what - I'm a total ignorant of the subject a month later like I've never touched it in my life! With some general conclusion left maybe or a feeling of a general pattern, or just a feeling... this makes me far more stupid tbh from this slow and steady mammoth.

Same, I learn by diving into the project instead of reading instructions. I get bored reading the details and some of it might be confusing. Plus it's a narrow path on learning how to do something, where as experimenting can lead to infinite possibilities on doing something, even leading to the same results. I could also see how something works instead of reading about it in words because I may not know what the instructions are even talking about unless I see the actual process. Like they say, a picture says a thousand words, so watching it through a video or real life says thousands!

At this point, it's not even how high or low your Fe is in your function stack. It's just mature to be open-minded with others' opinions because they might present a better perspective, or your judgement might have been clouded by biases without you realizing it.

There is a problem of trying to pin thinkers vs feelers or intuitive vs sensors in this kinds of things. Because Introverted and extroverted functions work radically different a lot of times. Take the part of Frank saying what thinkers prefer to learn.
At 8:36 "This is gonna help me get something done, this is gonna help me do my work and accomplish something" but that is how Te works, not Ti. Ti is driven interest and curiosity not how useful it is in external things. Ti finds joy in the process of learning more than applying that knowledge.
A lot of times introverted functions have more in common with their opposite introverted counterpart than the extroverted version of said function, on the way they work. If you look for example an ExTJ and compare them to an IxTP they have almost nothing in common. You can't just simply put both functions together just because they are thinking, or intuitive, or sensors. Look at Se doms and compare them to Si doms, the dom functions and how they use them are drastically different.
Also, my brother is an ESFP and I am an ENTP, I have been observing how different our middle functions work. A lot of people do not realize how active the middle functions really are. Are we feeler or thinking? we are a lot of times, both. ExFPs can really develop Te and they could watch this video, and really identify with what was said for thinkers. And that is how you get ExFPs who think they are ExTPs. Then it doesn't help that the stereotypes of the thinkers being abrasive assholes, because ExTPs with developed Fe can also look at those stereotypes and say, guess I am an ExFP because I am not an asshole. I have observed that a lot of ExFPs can be really really abrasive and direct, because of that Te. While some ExTPs, can keep their Ti to themselves and interact with people mostly with their Fe.
Guess what I am trying to say, is that things are way more nuanced, and this level of reductionism more than helping in can create way more confusion, and there is already a lot of very very inaccurate information out there thanks to the stereotypes. Also that, the middle functions are way more active than people think, just as the examples I gave with thinkers and feeler, people with sensor and intuitive in the middle, act like both simultaneously. That is why you have a lot of ISFPs believing they are INFPs, because the Ni in ISFPs is really really good.

I feel called out the cake. In high school, I took Chemistry of Foods. We had to bake a chocolate cake. My groups cake was suppose to be the worse cake. It was not. Changed the recipe and added some strawberries because it looked pretty. Got my group into trouble because of it. The teacher did state the cake was the best tasting cake she had in the class.

It would be interesting if you could establish some relationships betwen the 16 personalities and the three basic learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic). As an INTJ I thought for most of my life my main learning style was auditory but turns out I am kinesthetic. However, my cognitive functions (and high IQ) helped me to be a quick learner, despite the lack of stimuli that I would have actually prefered. I figured it as an adult, studying my masters on Education.

Every single thing you said was 100% true for me. I'm INFP (but very close to ENFP). I need to learn on my own, I wilt in a structured/controlled environment, I like to internalize everything, I'm much more intuitive about concepts, whereas trivia/facts are easy to forget. I very often need to figure things out for myself (Ne) - for instance, I couldn't stand piano lessons, but I taught myself to play by just messing around. I find logical systems harder to focus on unless they excite my interest and curiosity (Fi and Ne). I find many things painfully boring if they do not relate to my personal values in some way (Fi). In school, the classroom setting was mind-numbing and it was almost painful to pay attention, but any time the subjects were something to do with either the arts or the humanities, I got into a flow state of focus.
As an enfj, it actually helps ME study, by answering questions ppl ask me in class, so I enjoy being "the smart kid" because ppl ask me for help, and helping them helps me.

As an INFP with some INFJ traits he was spot on. I am an encyclopedia page. I have so much information in my brain it hurts. I remember I once was talking to a MD about neurodegenerative diseases and given that this MD was not specialized in them she was totally shocked when I was talking like a neurologist. I read a lot about neurology just because I find it so fascinating. I know so much about so many fields but I totally hate how education system is structured. In my opinion it is structured in a very boring unstimulating way. I'm a straight A student but only if the subject is stimulating and interesting and if not I get bored and lose interest altogether. We are sponges actually. We process a ton of info from various fields as long as they are not boring.

INFP here. This really helps, since I have recently realized this about myself and recently realized that I needed to make an effort to be more detailed oriented in learning the facts about what I am hearing about or learning how to do, instead of being only intuitive about a topic or desired skill. This shows the way to how to be aware and dive deeper into the details, despite our discomfort in doing so and habits formed early in life. So, it can be done!
As an ENTP I can't relate. Although I love talking to other people to absorb new information and opinions, I prefer to sort them out on my own. I also prefer to learn alone because I often don't understand other people's explanations well. Besides, I have to be able to fully understand one thing first in order to learn new things based on it.

INTP female. oddly enough, i'm better at languages and arts rather than math and all, but perhaps that's due to the fact that i used to be a feeler and picked up on all the arts types in primary school. when it came to secondary school i just didnt enjoy learning all that much so maybe thats why im not that great at math and science, just because i didnt really try to learn it.

My sis is an INTP too. She is super, and I mean SUPER good at drawing (like she is very likely the best artist in her grade at our school), music (piano + viola), which would make you think she might have mistyped, but oh noooo. She is the biggest nerd in math, chemistry, anatomy, and others branches of science, you name it. She is also very good at making friends which is surprising, but she is extremely funny and considerate with people as long as it isn't me haha. It's hard to have such a smart and talented person as a sibling, I gotta tell ya 😅

ENFP here. I almost never studied because I almost never had to. I also absorb information osmotically.

INFP here, I forget everything all the time, that's why I love math and science, because it doesn't matter if I forgot an enzyme or a formula, if I understand it, I'll understand it forever, I'll just have to read it again but just for the details.
That's the thing that always made me thought, that I am partially (or even entirely when I got to know 16 personalities for the first time) INTP, because I always enjoyed Maths, I'm a programmer and have a very analitycal mind in terms of those topics. However the test always says that I'm INFP. And when I read the descriptions of INFP and INTP, I'm sure that I'm much more INFP. I realized, that when I make decisions about my life, especially when they affect other people, I am a feeler. Emotions play a big role, I often wander with my mind in different places and so on. Maybe I'm still a little bit of INTP, because sometimes I turn on "logical mode" in discussions (even more often when I don't care about the particular person) and sometimes I feel bad a little bit after that (not always), because it sometimes feels like "asshole mode" 😆 On the other hand there are also a lot of discussions when I say generalisations, taking other people's feelings into consideration, and then the "(probably) real thinkers" say that's not logical. And I actually agree with them on that level, but still feel that there's something more than just logic 😆
So, well, it's not that simple 😄
Yeah, you're an INFP. If it makes you feel better, I also thought I was an INTP for a while, but it turns out we INFPs just have an analytical side. ^_^

This just made me think I'm much more balanced than I realised. Even though I might be introverted, I like to ask others their opinions on topics, I'm intuitive but I like to understand the details as well, I'm a feeler, but also love a challenge for the sake of a challenge. And I'm very much a judging person but I like to perceive all the information available as well... Quite a mishmash 😂

I'm INFP and I love science, math, and creative writing. I don't take insults to heart at all, in fact I almost never remember them. I also participate in class too much. Teachers don't call on me because I'm always the only one with my hand up. I also love to work out problems and sometimes I don't connect well with people. I hate art classes, it seems pretty pointless to me. I like working with wood, but pen and paper isn't for me. My conversation style is constant jokes in a fun scenario and letting people vent if they need to. I almost never talk about my own feelings, but I will argue the heck out of something I'm passionate about. Be warned anti-maskers. I will tear your arguments to shreds. I honestly was surprised I'm not a thinking type. Maybe it is an INFP thing and I'm wrong, but I don't feel like the test describes me well. I have taken the test twice because I didn't feel like it fit me.
It sounds to me like you are simply more social than most INFPs, but everything else you said (though not all of it is stereotypical) is perfectly normal for how I see us INFPs.

this is do entertaining, because using your example in bakery i (an introvert) like to read all the recipe, the instructions and notes and then get the ingredients and stick to that.my mom (an extrovert) on the other hand reads the ingredients, skip the instructions, and just get into it lol and she even makes a different version of it, she makes her own. i need to try it and get good at it before making my own recipe, if this makes sense? so yeah, i relate

I enjoy watching your programs. I am in my middle 70’s and retired. 2 observations: intuitive = guessing is hardly correct. I think you know that, somehow, therefore I am not going into a long dissertation here. 2nd observation is that of all the MB profiles you are most dismissive of the INFJ’s. You either portray them as little sad sacks, with no redeeming qualities, or dismiss them as less consequential in human society. I have noted in the segments that I have been (binge) watching that without fail you give the INFJ the least amount of time. Your sense of humor and switching between characters are phenomenal, and I truly enjoy it.
I’m an INFP and in many parts of this video I thought I had gotten an incorrect result. For example, I have always been good at Maths, Physics etc. But not because I like the structure and the rules and I have spent hours upon hours studying them. No, my special ability is that I learn everything in connection to something else I already knew. I think in terms of connections. It’s something I do subconsciously with everything around me. So, when later I have to solve a Maths problem or learn a new concept in Physics it’s not as hard for me to do it because I’ve made the connections and know where to go looking for the necessary information.

I am an infj, just found out a year ago.
Studying has been my thing for 20 plus years. While everyone else were functioning adults with jobs and families, i felt like an eternal student.
I can't absolutely say i am smart but i could say i study smarter. I grasp concepts and apply them in a broader sense. How things are interconnected and how they are not.
I always took notes during lectures which other people borrow. My books have writing on the sides for easy review. I made diagrams and drawings to help in my study. I read slowly and carefully once to retain info and subsequent reads are for review or to remind me what i forgot.
My best subjects were science and english . Math is my waterloo. Although i am good at accounting and analytic chem where things need to be balanced. When i am interested at something then i am really good at it, when i am not then i struggle.
I often studied in the library with friends but sometimes i taught them. My friends told me i made things simple to understand. Even if i were not the best at math they told me i can teach math for dummies.
I am good at predicting what would come out on tests.

I'm an INFJ and I've always thought ISTJs were smart. Si is a great function, not to mention Te which is focused on being efficient. Being an S type doesn't mean you're dumb at all.
Yeah, it's how you use your introverted sensing (Si) that makes you dumb. If you fight against innovation and prefer the comfort of conformity without testing its validation, then yeah, you're kinda dumb. But that's not you. Perhaps you just need a bit of evidence, as you're open minded and can try new things by easing yourself into it. I'm an INTJ and I know how that feels.

I'm a Literature teacher (and also an INFP), I have a student and he seems like an ESTP, the kid never gets what I say 🤦♀️ just like when I tell the class bout a poem that the poet wrote to show how he loved/treasured his wife cause he didn't have a successful career like others so the wife had to work hard, other kids some is touched and some got it right away, but that ESTP student, he asked me: why she had to live like that? why didn't her just dump that guy and go back to her parents house? 🤦♀️ and I was speechless 🤣🤣

As a Sensor - yes, can confirm I'm a ridiculously slow learner (damn it). As a Judging type - yes, can confirm that Uncertainty is NOT my friend, ie I prefer dealing with a narrower range of scenarios as opposed to dealing with what feels like infinitely too many scenarios. Heck, I'd even love to know my date of death so I can compute at what age I can stop working.

Out of everything he said here, I think the one that is most true for me is the Intuitive/Feeling part. I don't like having to look at details and following step by step in the process of learning new things. The feeling part of how "most feelers prefer to learn something they/other people enjoy" was very true. I feel like I do so much better at the things I genuinely enjoy (perfect example for me is that I love the subject of writing, which I love making stories or even retelling past experiences through them, it's so awesome just how much you can convey with a seemingly short and simple story and how I'm forced to use my own imagination and way of expression. When other people have to read your work and tell you how they thought of it is just a bonus for me :D). Yet for a subject I don't like, it's hard for me to enjoy classes and fully engage myself (Personally, I'm not a big fan of history which bores me out of my wits, and makes me look at documents using the old-timey language we all hate... like ugh, do I really have to write an essay explaining how the Age of Enlightenment affected the American Revolution??). However, I have this weird thing with math, I have a bit of math anxiety, yet I am somehow in a math class two years above my current grade. Somedays I just hate math and wish I could just do some other subject, and other days I get annoyed at my teacher for getting the information wrong and moving at snail-speed in our textbook... I don't really understand this concept though.

Fashion sense is not only for feelers. I am an INTJ. Having good fashion sense and taste allows me to develop unique personal style, which, in turn, allows me to accomplish a lot of goals in life, both personal and professional. I also use my closet as a form of therapy, because it is so perfectly balanced and organized that it immediately destroys any anxiety and depression when I open it.
As an infj, truly agreed with the T vs F. When I did integration math, a question always spined in my head " What's the uses of these maths in our daily life? "

Same, I have to study logarithms for a math test tommorow and I'm thinking how is this supposed to be useful in the future. It's so boring and I don't understand it at all. I also hate physics and chemistry, because It's so hard for me to understand it. I like to learn different subjects like english, biology, art (however I don't have this subject in my school anymore) and history, because I know I can do something with this knowledge in the future and it's much easier to learn. I'm also an Infj. 🙂
Im an entj but i am more likely to be an intoverted person , i get energy when being alone , want to learn things individually, if I ever had to choose between being on my own or with any other person (even if we are close to each other ) , id rather be on my own , tho i am really good with social interactions, puplic speaking , leading a group , i relate to TE function but my TI critical is high and i use it when i deep think about my belives (i dont follow puplic's opinion as TE users do )
