It’s always best to keep it in a place that you know is secured and easily accessible. Center console is good and the door is a kinda good idea also.. you can find accessories that will adhere to the side of the door pocket and you can clip it in but keep in mind if you get T boned, you might not be able to reach that pocket depending on the damages of the vehicle.
