Bk 2015 is one of the best shows of all time, but it’s impossible to watch it. Even if you purchase it from DCI, any part that has the sound bits is edited out.
I'll be 100% honest, I do the "prep" at least 5 times a day at random. Not as professionally as they do, but if I'm standing around at work, I'll throw one foot onto the toe, and flare my knee forward. Idk why. I think BK is my favorite drum corp.
The recent Blue Knights stretch minus 2018 imo is so noteworthy simply because of how different the show designs are compared to other corps around them
They have not been at Star's level, but I get what you mean. They need more "secret sauce." They need more of what Carolina Crown has and what Cadets used to have.
Imo, 2014-2019 have been incredible years, 2018 and 2013 can be included too. I loved "The Fall and The Rise." It was out there. It was different for the Corp. I like that type of energy. Plus the music arrangements blew me away and made seeing it live even better. BK's Bari/Euph line always impresses me especially. Makes me sad that the Blue Stars beat them out of their position in Murfreesboro, as that's the show I get to see in person.
2014 was my first time seeing drum corps live. I saw them perform at the Alamodome in San Antonio and this was my favorite show of the year. It was the first time I’d been moved to tears by a performance.
BK 2007 and prior were some really weird shows, but the BK 2013- 2019, I love. Oh and yes those shows had me emotional 😢.BK shows have had shows were the music communicates so well to the point you just understand. It hits the soul for me when I really listen to it.
I like how corps like the Mardarins and Academy like to do different types of shows and the Blue Knights are one of those corps. I love the in-depth thought that the Blue Knights like to give in their shows. Shows like "Because..." and "i" are weird names right? It makes u wonder what the show is about and the meaning is so in-depth that only after watching the show then u get the understanding of why the show was called "i" or "Because.." This is why Blue Knights have to be in my Top 5 fav corps
@@mbmaccin555555 Hey dude! Sorry I didn't mean anything negative about their hornline! I absolutely love their sound. They just had a "hold nothing back" attitude that i really admire in the mid-range corps. Where many brasslines will play it safe, they are quite literally blowing the lacquer off their horns.
@@JaredFong595 in that case yes I totally agree, if I kept on marching with bk I would have aged out with them in 2015 but I joined the military Marched 2012 and its amazing the progress they have made since

I marched Mandarins brass 2011-2016. I've always admired BK as well as good brass lines and 2014 happened to have both for sure!

It’s amazing how watching from the stands can bring back all the same energy you felt while performing.
@@TubaSammy ya i agree 100% really love the improvement, my age out would have been 2015 but I only marched 2 years, 2011 with academy and 2012 with bk playing trumpet but went on to join the military in 2013. Glad to even have marched at least those years something ill never forget

I remember flying to Denver from Chicago O'Hare for DCI in the late 1970's on a DC-10. Yes, I was MUCH younger then! Most of my family was already there, having had an earlier flight and we met at the hotel in Golden, Co. We had such a good time at DCI then went about for an extended family trip around Colorado. Most of them are gone now and this brings back such precious memories and the realization of how fleeting time is. Thanks for posting.
As someone who was in this show (GoPro of our run-through after a day of rehearsal is on my channel), it was honestly a life-changing experience, and the show played a huge part in that aswell. I remember shedding many tears after performing the Finale. Thanks for sharing this show with others!
Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite shows ever! Your reaction was so genuine and I even started tearing up seeing you react to the closer. This was my 4th summer with the Blue Knights in the color guard and performing this show was dream. 💙
BK ... sometimes controversial... dark ... love/hate ... whatever. All I know is, they still have their "identity". They're a special corps. Always growing and young but somehow never getting up with the big boys. They did have great years in 2000 and 2015 with 6th place finishes and have made the top 12 in 25 of the past 29 years .... but I would love to see them someday have all the pieces working at top level and make a run at a title. They've been so consistent for so long .... it's time! (it's the old saying .. stay and build rather than chase a ring somewhere else ... you're so close!)
The Knights would have to sell out if they wanted to win. You win by barely marching and polishing the 5 or so total minutes of marching to Kingdom Come. That's what bluecoats do, that's what blue devils do, that's what Vanguard does, yes that's what Crown does most years.
This was my biggest brothers first show in DCI. It was the most incredible and beautiful thing I had ever seen. Because of that show I am in drum corps and I am marching with The Academy
This is just insane, I absolutely love the corps I've been contracted at for staff and members completely, but Blue Knights has 100% perfect shows and even more prefect music every damn time. Not one bit of BK has not lived up to this '14,'15,'16,'17,'18,'19 they're just damn majestic.
I was 15 when I watched this show live in Colorado. My friend (who was also my senior captain) was in the color guard and watching her perform made me want to do drum corps
We were there live that night, watching our son age out on the 2014 Cadets' snare line and fighting for the podium. The Cadets and BK shared the same arranger, who knew how to make the brass sound rich and full. And, this BK show is definitely one of the most emotionally charged DCI shows in my memory.
It was an emotional performance. Most definitely. I remember seeing this live at drums along the rockies in my hometown as well as the blue knights hometown of Denver, Colorado. The blue knights and ascend performing arts never disappoint.
I love these videos. I'm a hardcore drum corps fan, but I also hope we aren't overwhelming/overloading with suggestions. Drum corps fans kinda took over your channel
BK are not getting the attention they deserve. 2014 and 2015 were amazing! 2019 also and I am pretty sure they will progress on their way to top 5 and one day who knows ... ☺️🏅
This was the first ever DCI show I've watched because my brother played Contra for this show. It made me really want to do DCI and 2018 was when that dream came true!
I’m not gonna lie, I cried a little bit. Let’s be honest tho, we’ve all cried or got emotional during a show at least once.😂 But truly a beautiful show
Just when I think you've reviewed all the good ones, you bring out the banger I forgot about. I would always go to the part at 8:44 to test new speakers.
yep if you want an emotional show you watch blue knights lol. All of their shows from like the last 10 years always seem to be very existential and emotional in that way, its weird honestly
Whilst the meaning of the show didnt really come through (for me at least) it's still an all round solid performance with some really nice parts to it.
I have been a fan of DCI since 1981, after I saw my first live performance. I marched DCI in '83 & I've continued to be a fan over the decades. I have seen a LOT of really good & emotional performances over the years, but this one seems to always bring a tear to my eye whenever I watch it. Good job on the recommendation. Out of all of the BK shows, 2015 is still my favorite though.
