Behringer Neutron & Model D, One Month Review

  • I've had the Behringer Model D and Neutron for a month now and wanted to clump them together in a fast review speaking about my experience with these Behringer analog synthesizers.
    I wanted to touch base on the differences in these machines, may people have asked which one they should get if they could only afford one synthesizer. I try to give my opinion and hope it helps you on your electronic music journey.
    You'll see MANY videos in the future featuring the Behringer Neutron & Model D so keep a ear out.

    Thanks so much for making this video man. I really want both of these but keep going back and forth which to get first. I’m feeling the Neutron at this particular moment :)

    Both are amazing synths . The D with it's 3 oscillators and the classic ladder filter is awesome for "that" Model D sound. Excells as Bass, Leads, and FX. Now the Neutron excels at all those type sounds as well even having 1 less osc and a different 2 pole multi filter .LFO is amazing fun as well as all the patchabilty. The D and the Neutron both sound huge. Modern analog synths that actually sound like how analog should sound! Cant wait to add the Pro 1 to this set of synths. I dont euro rack but love this form factor!

    Great videos, thank you. I'm in the market for a first synth and am trying to decide between either/both of these two and a keystep or something more expensive like a Moog Grandmother/Mother 32 type things. I just want to experiment and learn synthesis for multitrack recordings. the Model D does sound fantastic. Any advice would be appreciated.

    You are missing out on that Awesome delay! Indeed, it is noisy and as a standalone delay effect it is really not that good. But dial in fast delay times, moderate repeats and you get a chorusy effect. Modulate delay time and let the madness evolve!
    Also it's great for grainy lo-fi sounds.. but not everybody has a use case for these.

    How does the ipad/neutron do delay? via usb does the neutron output audio data?

    • @toddsmithmusic3172
      @toddsmithmusic3172  3 роки тому

      I don't think usb is audio. All audio is via audio wires with my synths. Ipad can send audio via usb tho

      Todd Smith Music I meant digital audio like pcm instead of midi, not analog audio electrical signals like on the audio cables
