It's fun to see Mr. Brown standing behind you WITH BRIGHT YELLOW BOOTS ON! And at the end is his successor, O'Henry looking like his brother just a short time ago.
My neighbor, a former recon guy from the Vietnam war, instead of buying a new handle for his splitting maul just reached across the fence (by permission of course), grabbed a good piece of oak and in a few minutes whittled/sanded one to perfection. 20 years ago after a church lady friend sat herself in a Finger Hut glider that had a knot in one of the runners caused it to break. I did the same thing your son did and traced it from the old one and finished it out with a jig saw, Dremil tool, and finish. My roomy loved it when I could change out the rollers and belt on her dryer after changing out the ceiling fan in the dining area. Her church friend loved it too the next time she visited. Your kids have skills that they didn't get just from you. You're doing just fine no matter what you might think to the contrary from time to time.

Jonah accidentally broke the axe handle so he figured out a way to replace it with scrap wood - what a talented young man. Josiah still showing his willingness to do the job but also expressing his concerns about how to do it. Lily is doing great with her horse. Can't wait to see how much Henry has absorbed from watching his siblings and begin to show his talents and willingness to participate in running the homestead.

If the tin was positioned ‘side-to-side’ rather than ‘front-to-back’, you could add a gutter for water collection for the garden, animals, etc., and have a natural water source. Just a suggestion

Anytime my stress goes up so does my sugar as it is a response in the fight or flight. woke up this morning before watching your video 120. your 30 minute video I am now 200. but 30 minutes from now I be back down after insulin and eating. so one safety tip...when walking with the horse, attach a lead rope with a snap to his bit. Your not techniquely suppose to ever just grab the bridle or halter. People have lost fingers or got dragged to death when their fingers got stuck in the strap or rings on a halter.Next time, have Lilly give dad a lead rope to lead.

Nice pig shed Justin! Too bad you couldn't set up a temporary/movable water catchment system that could water the pigs and garden? You and your boys are so talented in building things...such treasures to have on a homestead. Lily is growing into a young lady. ...and the little guys are so precious! Time for Gideon to start finding his niche on the farm. I'm sure he has a hidden skill...and little Henry just needs to "watch and learn" as my mother once told me when I wanted to learn to make homemade bread. I'm a 66 yr. old grandma and I've raised 9 children, I so wish I could share home birth stories etc.with Rebekah. She works so hard to help your family regain and maintain their health. God bless her! Just remember Justin, you may still be a young man but falling down the hill can injure anyone. Stay safe! Your family needs you. BTW I am also doing carnivore since June of this year. Trying to keep it as close to 0 grams carbs as possible. The holidays will be hard. So...stay strong! I hope you all have a blessed Christmas.

concerning the pig port. Try hinging the gate at the top like a dump truck bed, with a removeable pin at the bottom, and then it could be a pig tractor. This would allow you to move the tractor when the mulch reaches a certain height.

You need a better diabetes educator. All of these things are normal. It happens in the morning especially if you haven’t eaten. Glucose is released by your liver before you wake up to help give you the energy you need in the morning. When you don’t eat, your liver also releases glucose into your bloodstream to give you some extra fuel. It isn’t any YOU are doing, it’s your body giving it what it needs. Not to mention if you’re dehydrated, your cgm can’t read the fluid under your skin to tell what your blood sugar is. When you’re sleeping, if you’re laying on the sensor during the night, it pushes the sensor filament in too far and it isn’t able to correctly read your blood sugar either. There are a ton of variables you have to take into consideration. Not to mention, the readings are approximately ten minutes behind. So the readings you’re getting are from ten to fifteen minutes before the time you’re reading them. There’s no need to get worried of it spikes. If it doesn’t lower naturally over time, then you should address it. But, all of your numbers have been perfectly fine. You’re far from being a diabetic. In my opinion, you’re worrying about nothing and adding extra stress that’ll cause additional glucose to be released by your liver. But definitely find a better diabetes counselor that can really educate you on everything rather than asking Mr Google pants or a holistic advisor. You can get better education from a conventional counselor without having to use conventional methods.

Be careful on your blood sugar. Daily readings don't show the important number. The important number is your A1C which shows your true avg blood sugar. As long as your A1C is below 6.0 you are in no danger of becoming diabetic and a very long way from requiring insulin

Your pig port has so many benefits, and is quite handy for the two pigs. I did have one observation, even after your comment that you will only move the pig port twice a year, and that is the two end walls. Could you not have made one end a permanent wall just like the side walls? And the other end a removable gate? The fixed end could be on the end that you pull the pig port when relocating. Just curious. It seemed like it would have been sturdy with all the wood you are using, and you could move the pig port whenever you like without having to uproot the T posts. Again, just an observation, and in no way trying to tell you how to do your projects. It totally looks good, and for the most part sturdy! I wonder if you would be doing something similar for any piglets in the future?

The dawning effect happens to get your body going in the morning. The body dumps some sugar into the bloodstream to get you moving. If you are keeping your sugars under control and your pancreas is doing its job, it should not be a ton of sugar that it dumps and it should regulate daily quickly.

On your pond drainage, why don't you run that pipe like they do septic lagoons in Missouri? To keep the septic ponds or lagoons from overflowing, they put a pipe that sits just underneath the surface but the pipe is angled upwards to the outside of the bank so that the pond level is inside the pipe so the mouth of the pipe never gets any debris in it as it overflows. In the septic lagoons case, this keeps the Overflow from sucking all of the beneficial algae off the top of the lagoon.

    • @elizabethberra9049

      @elizabethberra9049 11 місяців тому

@@georgiarasmussen8343 When there is a gap between the metal and the deck it allows the metal to flex under weight which can slowly allow the screw to work its way out with the up and down movement. Let me tell you, my husband gets at least 25% of his repair calls on roofing to tighten screws and replace screws that have pulled out due to ice building up on the eave edges and flexing the metal when the screws are on the ribs. Placed right next to the overlapping rib in the pan is the way to go. Plus that’s what most manufacturers specify for proper installation.

My husband needed a weird shaped and sized wrench that would have been a special order item. So, my Handy Man made one by cutting out a piece of steel and grinding it down. It worked and he made it that day-he didn’t have to wait.

We fight the dawn phenonenon daily. You need to record physical, emotional, spiritual stress that you have from day to day. Cortisol is driven by so much. Also if sleep was affected, your circadian cycle and your sun exposure. Cortisol is a hormone just like insulin. The fact your insulin is reactive shows all hormones are reactive. I hope that helps you.

Talk about an efficient way to keep pigs. Would it be possible to raise them 100% in a pig port?

you are luck Justin that you didn't get Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) from the tick bite - that is an allergy to red meat from a tick - so please still be careful with the ticks including the kids and Rebecka

Attach your monitor to the back of your arm so you can’t catch it on things. When you spike on the monitor take a finger prick reading.

I dont know if anyone has told you that your Libre Freestyle won't always be accurate. There is sometimes a pretty fair distance between them and an actual blood reading, as the CGM tests your intersticial fluid, not blood. There is also sometimes a time delay.

May I make a suggestion? My husband was having the same problem with his sugar spiking first thing in the morning. Check your tooth paste, most have sugar unless your using sugar free. Just a suggestion hope it helps

To reduce the friction between the structure body with accumulated compost one side should be little bigger than the other side. pulling side should be smaller than the end side. six inches will be enough.

Justin they make covers so you can't bump them off. I pay cash for mine and can't afford to bump them. Covers are cheap on Amazon...

My wife has been a diabetic for 10 years and she had one of those that you put in your arm and we come to find out that it does not read accurate all the time so if it's low you ought to just take your blood sugar or regular way and it'll probably read different they're really not that reliable

Ive had type 2 diabetes since the birth of my youngest. wonder if the constant monitoring is making you stress out too much. Its good to get an idea what is causing spikes and to see how high you are going at first but if you are freaking out over it, it could cause more harm than good.
