We have a landoll 2130 chisel plow, 19 shank is pretty much the same as Deeres “new chisel plow” would recommend looking at one of them. I’m positive price wise it’s far cheaper and we’ve had it 5 years now with no maintenance besides replacing chisels.
Amazing all the capital requirements for equipment and buildings. It's massive debt service to farm. We are very thankful for all that you do for America!!! You earn every penny for taking risk, and working at a profession you love.
Have y’all ever thought of adding an overhang to your cold storage barn to put the headers, grain cart and certain implements under so it’s just the combines and tractors in the barn?! Less moving equipment around and loss time during harvest or planting!
Yeah the tech in equipment is crazy. One job I did at Deere was mount a GPS globe on a spud planter so if the tractor was off the planter could steer to correct the spacing. That along with how some of the transmissions can sense drag and tell the engine to rev up for more power

The 4 in shovels are amazing for corn residue in our area. It’s the next best thing to a moldboard. We like to turn our soils over and bury and weeds as well. There is a balance between our chisels and our disc ripper. Often times it domes down to whether we want ridges to stop erosion and the ridges seem to dry out sooner in the spring compared to the flat ground the disc ripper leaves.
I have. OLD chisel plow. It ran 2” spike. Bigger tractor, fwa. As mainly bean ground, so 150 acres a year. Being bit small is not a big thing. I will find a bigger. But I had put twist 3” on back row to see how I liked 2+ years ago. This summer I bought full replacements. But decided to go “one more season” because they will go in scrap pile with most bolts. Only 60 acres. Wore them like 200 acres. Plus the 3” tripped like typewriter. “Clank..clank, clank…..” I had to drive slower then when I used old tractor.
I washed combines foe 7.5 years, 100's of them and only 1 gave some problems. Was very careful not to direct nozzle on bearing seal.I loved doing it! Great people to work !for
Loved the new Chisel- JD made some big improvements. I remembered you harvesting last month and you kept breaking your digger shovels........ This model is so much tougher. :D
@@clearskiesranch1362. I was wondering. Clearly there are parts that have been beefed up, springs, chassis parts, harrows. Considering that Deere has a few issues, one they loathe farmers doing their own work on these machines and second Deere building them in Mexico with the threat of tariffs hanging over their head, maybe it’s possible to have the dealers do an upgrade on most of the parts with the current equipment.
@@diamondjim7560Deere doesn’t really care about people repairing stuff any more than the others. Also they only moved skid steers and track loaders to Mexico everything else is in the same place.
The little cordless Milwaukee shop vac is awesome! I love mine for a quick cab clean…. Also take the filter out if you need to clean up any water. Works great for getting that last little bit of water out of my boat that doesn’t go out the plug hole
Thanks Zac. Back in the 60s deep tillers were starting to be used, My uncles farms around Wawanesa Manitoba had big rocks. I remember tilling with a Massey 555. The tiller would snag a rock and just about stall the tractor. When I'd look back the boulder came out of the ground lifting the tiller. Amazingly tiller was rugged nothing broke. Good old days!
Impressive Coulter chisel machine. Now you talking with the spring release system. Just a note. As such and expensive solid machine it's still worthwhile reducing speed in areas of large boulders as rocks are so unforgiving and the machine will last longer if given time to clear it out of the ground. Should you purchase.

Yea I would think it would plug in heavy grain corn residue. With the straight gang and blade angle on the front. It's pretty much a green- Case IH 6650 chisel plow with some fancy stuff on the back. It think she'd plug in 250bu corn. thanks for the video
You should wash your combines and then park them in your shop for a day or two the dry them off and then park them for the winter then your bearings will not rust
Won’t work. Without running at operating temperature for a couple hours it won’t dry out. The water will just sit in the bottom of the bearings and electrical connections and cause corrosion. I thought the same thing once upon a time and found out the hard way. Washed the combine and left it in my heated shop all winter. Never had so many problems with bearings in my life. Compressed air is all that’s required. I use a spray on ceramic coating from the chemical guys when the machine is new and I can get 95% of the dust and dirt off with just air
