    There’s a trick that I learned last year permaculture Put your garden on the flat mountain / heel connect 200 swales With little burn in front And plant your seeds in Every time it rains, the water goes through your roots and if it doesn’t rain, just open the hose on top and feed everything and you’ll see birds swimming in the swales pooping on the burn you’ll have Barry everywhere. I wish you could see mine. It’s insane. And you could do 100 of mine where your situated

    Horses don't normally need blankets, however it does need to acclimate to your weather.

    • @stacey_h
      @stacey_h 11 місяців тому +2

      Horses that come from a warmer climate to a colder one will need a blanket at this time of year. There winter coat starts to grow as the daylight gets shorter (starting around the summer solstice). Our horses winter coat is completely grown by this time of year and peaches was just moved to a much colder climate. His coat is not going to grow anymore this year and will most likely need a blanket at night and on cold windy days through the winter. Next year his coat will be more acclimated to there colder weather and should be fine. It is never a bad idea to have a proper fitted blanket on hand for your horses because you never know when you will need one. Wind will chill a horse really quickly. It gets underneath their coat and zaps all the warmth out of there system. In our area we go from up to 121 during the summers to the low teens with a lot of wind during the winter. We even hit 0 during one winter and our horses spent over a week with blankets on. Weather is far less predictable nowadays than it used to be.

    That was a lot of climbing yesterday Justin! Wow, Randolph did a great job! Yeah, Peaches needs to acclimate and shivering helps him get adjusted to the new temperatures and having his hair grow more. That will be a nice porch downstairs. Too bad the frost free water hydrant froze! That pig port really looks nice for the pigs Justin! It was nice to see Lily riding Peaches. Yay, buttermilk cornbread! I sure hope you can figure out the recipe with some type of rising agent and some salt! It looked like you really liked it Rebekah. That pan is great! Thanks for this video Rhodes family!

    Justin you have plenty of buildings with covered areas on the property. Park the four wheeler under a covered area. Then on any equipment that is not used frequently, use Battery Tender to keep the batteries from freezing and topped off.

    Don’t set the bar so high by trying to completely eliminate the grocery store. I believe it’s very admirable if you can just reduce your dependency on the grocery store, as you are doing. Don’t try to achieve perfection, just work towards excellence.

    I have SI joint issues (sacroilitis) due to Ankylosing Spondylitis. I accidentally learned how to pop mine in physical therapy (their exercises weren't working). I lay flat on my back, bend my legs with feet flat on the floor and then squeeze my legs together at the knees. It's a nice release in my lower back when it pops and the SI pain lessens or stops. I don't know if it's safe for you, but discovering it was a lifesaver for me. It's sometimes short lived but it's nice getting a break.

    If you’ll allow yourselves to buy pure pineapple juice from the grocery store, you can put up zucchini chunks in pineapple juice and it works like canned pineapple in baking projects. I'm in North Florida and grow pineapples and bananas without a greenhouse. But I'm getting ready to move to Georgia and will be using methods that push the zone for plants.

    Think of your body as a network of rubber bands. When you climb the mountain 5x a lot of those rubber bands tighten up like the balsa wood airplanes we used to play with as a kid. That causes joints and vertebrae to shift and pinch nerves (s.i.) as a warning mechanism until those rubber bands flatten back out. So don't worry about using lighter weights until they do. Then see your chiropractor to adjust the alignment

    Azure Standard is the way to go for your "cheats". Frozen pineapple is wonderful for a cheat but in small amounts because the sugar is so high! Also, bananas can be a bulk buy, take them and cut them into bite-size pieces then freeze them on a sheet tray and once frozen put them into a freezer bag for storage. Henry can learn to eat them like a popsicle bite. My son loved frozen grapes too, cut in half and freeze because they don't freeze hard like an ice cube but like a popsicle.

We can do it in our yard anyways that might be a plant that you can add to your garden to add flavor to cakes or , have a tea to replace a cocoa just an idea.
