    Pro tip on your skid steer and excavator: At the end of a muddy day get your power washer and knock off the bulk of it before it builds up. 10 minutes will save you hours.

    Round pen work is great to develop connection with her and the horses. She is doing great with them. All the new things the horses have to learn about, it takes time to establish a routine and who’s the boss. She will be awesome with them and they will learn a lot about her. Keep up the good work Lily. 💜🐴💜🐴

    Great parents allow their children to have some freedom to do what they want to do in exchange for all they do for the family. Lily works so hard - and so do the older boys - so to let her have the space she needs for her horse right now is worth the sacrifice of the pasture. I'm sure it is only temporary as Peaches will adjust in time. Henry was adorable at the end.
    As others have already mentioned, I enjoyed the fact that this video wasn't so choppy and jumping around.

    Miss Lily certainly has her fierce protectors among your subs! 😂 No teasing that little gal about her horses taking up space. I know you don’t truly begrudge her one inch. She planted her flag on your heart looong ago.
    Gideon and Henry playing together are such a joy to watch. Soon, Gideon will be the only one who can wear Henry out. He’s got a little motor in his backside. 🤣 Jonah and Josiah are getting so much work done! Awesome kids. Finally, I have to say I really appreciate the pacing on this video. I can keep up with your voices much easier and savor the visuals. Very nicely done.

      The trouble is that he spoils the boys to death, even with dangerous equipment and activities. He's made it so clear he questions, doubts, and slightly but persistently resents her getting something Lily has worked so hard for--and she's such a good kid. She works hard, she supports both her Mom and her Dad, she's patient, she earns her privileges. But Justin hides a sort of constant low-grade annoyance under unconvincing teasing, questioning, and grumbling.
      If Lily wants to make a living off of horses, that living exists, and may bring in income to the farm in time--and in the meantime isn't something that actually damages the farm, any more than all the boys' toys and activities do. Justin is so obviously proud of the boys doing anything at all demanding skill--but what Lily's doing with the horses also demands skill, and offers her a future living.
      I feel for her. Lily loves her Poppa. But this first time she's standing out and wanting something of her very own, he's far too obvious in his doubts and wish she wanted something HE wanted or the boys already wanted.

    What a great dad. I remember when my dad plowed up a track around his bread corn field so I could work and ride my first horse. Now I’m learning how to train my horses to plow my garden for bread corn. I can’t help but think my mule skinner grandpa would be proud. It’s always hard to find good flat workable ground in the Smokey mountains, so I understand the sacrifice. You will find that you use the round pen for much more than just horses. If you need to separate a bovine/ ovine/ or porcine, they definitely come in handy.

    I enjoyed this vlog. It spent more time on the subjects and wasn’t so jumpy. Round pen is a safer place for helping your daughter train the horses. Comes in handy if you need to dry lot them too. We used it with our cows especially when we had to load them into the trailer. Those burger buns looked amazing.

    Justin...as a horse lover since early childhood I can say without a doubt buying a horse for your horse-loving daughter is the best investment you will ever make for her. My parents bought me my first horse when I was 14 and I have had horses off and on my whole life. I put my last horse down in September of 2022. I still miss riding and owning my horses. I am 79 years old, so I trail rode until I was 77. I would still ride if I could afford to have another horse.

    LILLY spent the whole 100 days last winter clearing the 2 acres
    for pasture for your cows and sheep, the boys got the rewards then she deserves space on the homestead for herself. BLAZE can be used to help plow the garden plots and help haul logs and both can be used to help move the cows and sheep, Blaze can move the milking shed, and riding os perfect therapy for his hip and leg.

    I was going through some of your older videos and noted that there has actually been quite a few floods. Justin's dad said something about it a major flood many years ago. Personally I would focus on disaster prepping. Re: floods, drought, high winds, etc. Perhaps dig deeper trenches that lead down to the creek. Perhaps looking at the creek and deciding if it needs any tweaking. Little things like water storage and alarms on the freezers (although if I remember correctly you already have those). Storing per filled sand bags. There are dozens of things you could do that you could share with all of us.

    I'm so proud of you and amazed by how far you've come. I got on the bus (literally) when you were doing the US tour with the crew when my first grandson was about 2 and obsessed with tractors. I found your videos on YT and he and I spent many happy hours watching your family travel the country and explore farm life ... on steroids. I've come to learn that you do most EVERYTHING on steroids and I love it! My dad taught me that anything worth my time was worth doing right the first time and I've tried to uphold that standard to the best of my ability throughout my years and it's always served me well. I've watched my family grow alongside yours and we still look forward to what's coming next from the Rhodes dynasty. You're still trying new things, inventing new approaches, expanding on new ideas, and blessing others with your massive store of knowledge by teaching others how to... It's truly wonderful to see your family being blessed because you've certainly blessed the viewers over and over. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you! If you laid the cameras down tomorrow and never put content out again, you would still have impacted millions in a positive way! That, my friend, is true success!! Blessings!

      Raising your daughter to think shes a princess sets your daughter up for failure in "the real world". She will expect special treatment and when outsiders dont give it shell not react well. I think the best thought is "Justin just love your kids". But he doesnt need to be told that. He and Rebeccah have got it covered.

    I think that Lilly would feel much more love and support from you if you weren't constantly complaining about giving up time and pasture and money towards her passion in life. She gives so much to the farm, it's time she reaped some of the benefits. The boys get a vehicle, heavy equipment, airsoft guns, dirt bikes - time with you on the dirt bikes and you never complain about any of that. I've notice this passive aggressive behavior against her ever since you started making the decision about the horse. If your viewers can see it, your daughter can.

      I saw it differently.
      He was letting her know how important that pasture was to him and wanted her to know and appreciate it. He gave it to her to show love and support. The boys get backwoods to tear up with toys, not premium pasture.

      Or he is talking through the process out loud with the kids to teach the kids and involve them in farming decisions. I didn't see any unloved kids in their videos, I see the opposite, time spent with the children. Also 4 to 1 ratio of course busy boys are going to be given other outlets to expend their energy. The boys have to save up for things and they work hard too. Let's be careful not to project feelings onto others. These kids are well rounded and their parents are engaging with them. Isn't it wonderful that love is expressed in multiple ways?! If Justin didn't speak to Lily and gave her everything another person could say "stop spoiling the only girl of the family". Perspective is also subjective and kids can read these comments too. Take good care.

      Well that would be nice but we didn't see him at any point reminding Jonah that the skid steer is a privilege. He continues to let Jonah miscare for a pretty expensive piece of equipment.... It was nice that he explained to Jonah about Lilly's horses are just as important to her as Jonah extra curricular activities.

    Maybe you can organize all the critical comments you've been getting lately and make a critic's video, this is amazing to me that people are constantly wanting you to do things different! I didn't see any issue from Lily she looked like she was having fun and in the end got her place for her horse! Great job Dad!

    Wow. Disappointed about the parenting criticisms targeted at boys v girl. Shocked, really. Children within a family are not the same. They are not equal. Each one has their individual strengths and talents and aptitudes. Age factors in. Interests factor in. Meeting family needs factors in. One must also factor in that what one sees of this family is limited to what is recorded and edited and finally presented. And we have no idea what the family chooses to keep private. For a bunch of homesteader/ commenters, there sure is a lot of criticism and an amazing lack of encouragement and support. If you're coming here to gripe and moan, change the channel. And take your woke boys v girl notions back to your woke public schools. Never more disappointed in this group of commenters. Also quite pleased at those who aren't playing the boys v girl games.

    I like the fact that you can direct your two oldest sons and walk away and know they will handle it.

    31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man (Jesus) whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
    Acts 17:22-31
    King James Version
    22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
    23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
    24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
    25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
    26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
    27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
    28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
    29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
    30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
    31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man (Jesus) whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
