thank you Victor :) yes i mostly play via sheet music, it's how i learnt as a child. but i think due to my dad & love fo music, i can also sorta play by ear. just less practice in playing that way!
Where did your dad find a flame top, black burst Tele??? Is it a £3000 Fender Custom shop? I so want that look but a Tele deluxe. I'll probably have to just buy the £220 Squire Affinity and plane the top off, glue a flame maple cap, stain black, sand back *and* refinish, but then I can have faux binding and a Bigsby 😍

I've played bass for 30 years . Heres some tips. Do this drill ; start on the E string on the 7th with your pointer finger, then play 7 8 9 10 on the e using all 4 fingers pointer on the 7 to pinky on the 10. Then move to the a and up to the g string. Then do the same thing descending. Then practice scales using all your fingers. Using one or 2 fingers is a bad habit. Once you learn the song on one string, find the notes across the fretboard. This will be more efficient and less scratcy.
