That is what amazed me too! Solas breaking Bianca. I mean at least he didn't turn Varric to stone but Bianca? Can't wait to play it.

I've been waiting 10 years for this gameplay debut!! I haven't been this hyped for a game since DAI. And part of the fun is sharing the excitement with other hardcore fans like you and Jackdaw. Ive been watching your talking dragon age series for years and it's just so much fun to share in the excitement with you :) glad you're still around and making videos Cole

Did you notice two creatures rising behind Solas at the end? I think we know who they are.
I think one of them is for sure elgarnan based on the arrangements of the statues. If we assume the tallest in the center would be " the leader" and elgarnan was basically the zuse of the elves, and has the same symbol on its head as the creature on the left if solas then I am assuming that's elgarnan
@@tourguidebarbie0 Yeah, it's either Elgar'nan or Falon'Din. I am more inclined to believe it's Falon"Din, but either one it doesn't matter in the end. We know two of them are rising, damn. Solas will have to prob sacrifice himself to save the world from other elven 'gods".
At least from what we see, the Venatori seem more like a gang than the paramilitary cult they were in Inquisition. Saying how "the streets belong to them", paying off the bar owner and having beef with an investigator. Might be how they survived since the end of Inquisition, shifting into open criminal activity

I don't *hate* it. That also explains how they recruit so many members: targeting criminals, the poor, and the downtrodden. Maybe even absorbing other gangs

that's what i thought the whole time even in trespasser he made out that the evanuris was the true threat so i suspected that's who we'd be dealing with
solas gives a classic magneto from x-men type of vibe which is one reason why he's my favorite

I like the art style too, and I noticed soft glow for farther scenery and I'm liking it. I am just in awe with it all.
Can you make vids on the Lords of Fortune, Antivan Crows, and other factions that the player can have as their origin?

Mark Darah (I know I am misspelling his name) says it should be DAVe. I noticed Kala (I think) said it once. So, I think that is where we as a group should go. The Ve comes from the Veil in Veilgaurd.
While I hate the redesign of demons and darkspawn, and the art style isn’t my favorite…..I’m really excited to play this! I’m excited to meet the companions, and see where the story goes 🙌🏼
Solas just did Bianca wrong! He shoulda known better. Really liking it so far! I am not sure how i feel about the 'energy demons' vs the ones we had last game though. I'm pretty hype having seen the gameplay. Looks like a bit of a toned down version of DA:2. I would have prefered more of a DA:O style but we all knew it was never going to happen and if anything head more Mass Effect-y. Do you think those pillars were something holding those particular gods back? If so I feel like he would have or should have uhhh repaired that a lil better XD.
Oh for sure he should have prepared better 😂 I don't think the pillars were holding the gods back, but I think they were somehow linked to their power for Solas to use

I'm really excited. The location looks amazing and Solas is just frickin beautiful. I do worry however that they're repeating the same mistake they made in Inquisition, throwing us into the action too fast. I don't like the idea of starting the game with the ritual right away. Some of the most interesting parts of the game will happen in the first few hours without proper build up. This ritual should be a big thing happening at least 10 hours into the game. If Solas makes a second attempt it will feel just as hollow as closing the breach.
I should really buy Tevinter Nights.
Wasn't it Dorian's voice we heard in Minrathous announcing people should seek safety while the matter was being dealt with? Like we heard a snippy voice saying someone was in violation, and then a different voice that was trying to caution the general population.
Also; Where's Varric?! He was right behind Solas when the statue toppled over, still on the stairs when the blast happened. But suddenly Rook is at the bottom of the stairs and not Varric. Did he get blasted futher away? Makes me worried about him. And the dagger disappeared in the final bit with Solas. Did Varric and the dagger get blown to the same spot and Varric hands Rook the dagger, telling them to rally the troops he and Harding had been recruiting. And to safe/free Solas from whatever Ghilan'an and Dirthamen have in store for him? Cause I can imagine them throwing Solas into the Fade, swapping sides so they can wreak havoc on this side while he's trapped. And the dagger we have being used to slice into the Fade where it is weak when we need to?
Oh and Varric could not go to Dorian as they were laying low in pursuit of Solas, and Dorian is a big shot with a giant target on his back from the conservative magisters. Would draw too much attention to have the Viscount of Kirkwall popping up out of nowhere for a quick chat in a dirty getup
It would seem the shadow dragon faction has a good precedence of being the default faction. Though a faction tied to Arlanthan Forest would fit better possible. What do you all think?

I also somehow remembered “moonhead” as Ghil. Now I am no longer sure why. So much lore, I constantly forget everything. Whoever the two emerging evanuris are, it’s so absolutely not fun to have your playable character suggest that we go and knock moonhead over while Solas is clearly in the process of extracting evanuris magic from these statues. So you kinda know where this is going and you can’t avoid it. I’m going to be yelling at my character so much when I finally get to play this. Did nobody brief them on the risks?
That said - I have no idea how much the inquisition would actually know. My idea was just, if we know then they know.
Btw do you remember if Solas ever said what his plan was regarding the evanuris? Was there a way for him to remove the veil using their magic but leave them in these.. horcruxes or whatever?
@lizardmix He just said he "had plans" when the Inquisitor asked if removing the Veil would release the gods
Idk it’s looks cartoony. I don’t like how they are portraying the characters. You would think with how well inquisition looked and how long ago that was that they would make dragon age look more lifelike like how they did God of war. Looks fortnighty

It is too hack and slash for my liking. I am pretty shaken as I knew that there would be changes (there always are), but I am disappointed. I'll still get the game and pray that the story is amazing but I think I need to see more to be sure.
Well, they're playing as a rogue so hack and slash is to be expected lol
All they did was take Inquisition combat and make it more stylish and swift.
The combat in Veilguard will clearly be kor "flashy"

The gameplay looks fun but what was up with the redesigns of all the demons? And we're back to simple "diplomatic, sarcastic, aggressive" DA2 dialogue options. I'm also just bummed out that they made all the companions playersexual. The defined sexualities of the characters in DAI seemed more real and personal. Making them all basically the same ("whatever you, the player, decide they are") seems really flat and not very diverse. Personally, I know that the ace community has been asking for rep in a dragon age game for a while, and this kind of negligence seems like a slap in the face from a supposedly "queer inclusive" dev team: an intentional leaving-out of their ace and aroace fans. Feels like a massive cop-out.
Yeah, I agree about the playersexual thing. Meant to mention that in the video. I'm all for a diverse cast of differing sexualities - but playersexual is not that.
Also pretty sure the diplomatic/humorous/aggressive was still in Inquisition, it just didn't have the icons.
I'm going to disagree and offer another queer perspective: it *is* more inclusive to me. In DA:O, queer players had 1 romance option each (both bi); in DA:I, queer players had 2 romance options each (one gay/lesbian, one bi); in DA2, queer players had equal opportunity to romance any given companion. Personally speaking, I'd much rather have equal opportunity to romance the characters I like, than have them all have such realistically strict preferences such that I only have a token 1-2 to choose from.
Moreover, I don't think the explicitly gay representation has been all that great to begin with. While I like Dorian a lot as a character, his backstory is one big gay media cliche ('coming out, falling out'). It also added homophobia to a world that conceptually hadn't had it until then, which IMO is a minus.
I understand where you're coming from, but it's also a video game and I think players should be able to romance whoever they want without any limitations. It's a game it doesn't have to be real life.
@@disclaiminDorian's case was definitely a case of "hide away the gay". Hopefully that cultural point stays in Inquisition.
Combat looks ridiculous, IMHO. It's clearly turned Dragon Age into every other action fighting console-based game and the PC port will need to do a lot of heavy lifting. VA is solid, but the intro dialogue is kinda stilted, and i hope it gets better. I liked the end reveal, which has me hopeful for the story, but if this is how the game begins, it feels like we're gonna miss a lot of RPG feel/character development, and i feel like DAI made the same mistake. Ah well. It's pretty.
That's all so frustrating. I won't even try to play it, it's nowhere near the origins (and I not only mean DA:O, just, you know, origins). Kid's cartoon with dialogues just to match the picture. So sad...
'm honestly really concerned it seems like they made this game for kids and new people and just making it shiny and they forgetting about the old fans that made dragon age is what it is the art style really bothers me demon's only have half bodies now the u i and the combat looks really dumbed down that's for new players tho i was really looking forward to this game but it wasn't made for us sadly hell i don't even think ill romance anyone if the art style is so overwatch looking what bioware games romance is a huge part of it or was it's just sad

It’s rated M… so don’t think it was made for kids. While I also hate the redesigns of things….that doesn’t affect the story, which is what I really care about. Also they’ve already said the companions and their romances are VERY fleshed out. More so than any other game.

It is interesting, and I'll definitely play it, but you're right that its another step farther from the CRPG roots.
But that's the direction that Dragon Age has been moving towards ever since DA:2. Less CRPG roots, more AAA action with each new title. I don't like it either, and this may not be YOUR Dragon Age, but this is Dragon Age.
I've had 24 hours to process all this now. Sorry, I'm not impressed (after playing BG3 and 10 YEARS of waiting). This all seems generic, regardless of how pretty it looks. And the majority is STILL downvoting it on youtube. So.... the proof will be in the pudding. I won't shit talk, but I'm not gonna pretend I'm super stoked either. After so many years and so many disappointments, BioWare has a lot of work to do to earn my trust back.
BG3 was good but it lacked the lore dragon age has. Not their fault, can’t really do much with Faerun, but no matter how much the art style changes or the combat, people who care about the lore will always tune in. If that’s not you then don’t buy it.
It looks awful, it sounds awful. Are we all watching the same thing? Because this is exactly what everyone said they didn't want for ten years and now everyone is all excited for a Souls Game garnished with some neon coloured unicorn vomit? I don't get it! What am I missing?
