This looks so good. I'm going to be playing this game for years.
Combat looks like they combined Dragon Age and Mass Effect. The enemies seem to have different-colored health bars, similar to ME2 and 3's shields and armor on foes. Certainly an intriguing concept; I'm eager to play it for myself.
The gameplay looks promising and engaging. Now I’m definitely going to play this game on my PS5 this Fall of 2024.
They did say in the beginning that it was taken from early play but what is there looks good so far. Thanks for a very good review of the situation!
Are we limited to just one combat character? Is this GOW style gameplay?
I may get it for the story alone.
yep. cant swap to other characters. only use abilities from that wheel.
I don't think this is an actual group. There are three sidekicks and none of them are grouped with the main yet. This looks fun. I'm in.
Def some Andromeda combat. Don't like not being able to switch characters.
Scout Harding doesn’t have a quiver.
To quote Solid Snake, “Infinite Ammo.”
It looks interesting, game play wise. It looks more like Baldurs Gate for colors or Disney fantasy. DA had its own look, and that was cartoon realism mixed with dark fantasy. At least the facial expressions are good. I'm not a fan of Varrics hair for 2 games he's been a blond, from his first appearance in DA2 to Inquisition. It's called character continuity. I liked being able to switch between characters in Inquisition. Do not understand Solas suddenly not caring about needless killing, etc. He sought us out in Inquisition because, as he said, "we were in over our heads, and with Corypheus tearing the Veil, we needed his help to fix it." Now he's ripping it more.
Gotta say, I was very pleasantly surprised. I don't think it's mind blowing, but it looks like the BioWare story telling is back which is - let's face it - the main thing. The graphics are too stylised and cartoony for my liking, and I'll have trouble romancing anyone aside from Harding if they look anything like the cinematic teaser of last weekend. The *world* aesthetic though? LOVE. IT. Love it. Minrathous is beautiful.
It's definitely moving toward "Dragon Effect" with the combat. I don't like it, but at least it's familiar so I think anyone who's played DA:2 and Mass Effect will get used to it really fast.
For the questions in the sidebar during the stream, it's aprox 9 years later, you can turn off a lot of the combat markers etc. if the visuals annoy you, and there will be (apparently) really complex skill trees but most of the companion skill choices will be passive (damage boosts, ability tweaks etc.).
You're almost certainly right about Solas NOT being the 'Big Bad' here. Just before the cut at the end, two old gods came out his portal! I may not be sold on the game itself, but DAMN I want to play that STORY!!!! 😀😀
are we making it "tactical" for tactical sake? why do i HAVE to pause to use a skill? That breaks the flow of action combat so hard. Either make it an action rpg, or make it a strategy game.
No full companion control. Bad choice. Hah! And here I thought they couldn't streamline the gameplay even further... BioWare just can't stop digging their own grave. This game will be a 7 out of 10. I don't know it for a fact... I just know it's true.
It's the beginning of the game you will be able to control them later.
@@TeaTimeTable Nope. you can "command" them. I E use their abilities ala Mass effect. but you never take direct control of the companions.
@@reptiliancow Lol? you can issue commands with them as well but this is the prologue you will be able to swap control of characters later - thats to clear up your confusion on the game.
@TeaTimeTable no you can't. They stated you can not take control of the companions directly. It was stated in the initial interview and in the preview. "Will allow you to control your companion's attacks and unleash powerful abilities".
To reiterate: You can not take direct control of the companions.
@@reptiliancow So it's like Mass Effect now, good! That's my fave way of running companions, especially on high difficulty, then detonate synergies = good times.
I don't know tbh. Need to get used to the graphic style. The combat seems very arcade style.
It’s Inquisition Part 2 Overwatch edition. 😂 On crack. It looks good just hoping more DA:O. Oh well. I might but definitely when it’s on discount. 😂
A Game made for the tiktok generation. Everything is blinking, glittering and flashing. The characters are talking like they Just reached the beginning of puberty. I'll pass.
Huh, this is probably going to be the first dragon age title that I give a hard pass on. It looks so *boring.*
Don’t like it. Combat looks boring. Art has poor design.
